Eight dollars for a grease sandwich, I don’t think so. They did it to themselves.
Grease sandwich! I like that!
8 dollars? Where are you eating? Nothing is that inexpensive in my area.
@@blackbird1126😂😅
and a phony reconstituted undigestable grease at that....
I went to Arbys a little while back, thinking I could save a few $ if I only got the sandwich. The sandwich alone cost me $9!
For me, negative employee attitudes and appearance along with exorbitant prices are the main reasons I don’t do fast food much anymore.
I just want my order to be correctly put together, so I don't have to wait a second time in a long order line to have the order fixed. I am hungry and want to eat good food and not suffer frustration even after paying a high price for the food. Who needs aggravation?
BINGO! The pay has doubled but the surly attitudes remained. And I'm sorry but if you look like a walking hepatitis risk, or have bones in your nose or ringdings hanging from your eyebrows, I don't want you handling my food.
Unfortionetly I fet that from Starbucks maybe it's my race? Half Mexican American and half Caucasian but I have $$ just like the white Karen's before me they help with smiles abd so nice to them. But I have some of my family with me blonds Blue eyesI can help who my parents are. But I still go and still nice to them that's on them they have to lice with themselves not me and I'm a disabled senior. 🤷
yep....overpaid gutter trash...LOL
MC Donald's makes me feel sick soon after eating😮
Disappearing fast foods? That’s good news for Americans’ health.
Except that all our crops are poisoned ... make no mistake ...they do aim to kill us
I don’t think remodeling is the problem it’s the cost and poor quality food
Why eat unhealthy fast food ?

Right? I was watching @wallieb26 going to an older Burger King recently that's still vintage and they had the best food quality and service he's ever had. So, agreed, newer does NOT always mean better in that regard.
Who wants to pay a lot of money for garbage food.😮
Look at the lines around any fast food joint . There is your answer .
@ the proof is in the pudding, a lot of them are closing down because people don’t want it anymore
All bad low quality food, over priced.
Daheim sagen wir McKotz, McSpei, McWürg dazu. Wir haben bessere internationale Alternativen.
It seems contradictory for customers to complain about rising prices, while simultaneously opting to pay extra for delivery.
It's amazing that not a single fast food chain wants to admit that it's the Quality of the food that is the issue! They always blame the menu. The Quality becomes worse and more expensive! That's called Self Denial.
That's a bunch of managers that want to sit in offices and think they know what they're doing to proud to admit they don't and to lazy to work
Don't forget. The quality of the staff matters a lot as well. A poor staff can easily ruin quality ingredients.
@@ulrichvonstomp6031 These fast-food restaurants seemed to have forgotten about customer service, and poor customer service with everything else they are doing can make or break your business. Like @DaveHylton-r9n said, "Self Denial!"

Biggest problem with a lot of fast food places is the employee attitudes.
And chain that with poor quality food . And you have the best reason to NOT eat in these grease pits .
McD shouldn't be more expensive then a snackbar. A snackbar actually has REAL FOOD and is 40% cheaper. SMFH

Yeah, I quit eating at McD's when my kids stopped begging for Happy Meals in 1985, that's like 40 years ago. Good riddance to bad food.
Mcdonalds was never bout the best burgers, they have been about buying up the best real estates in the world
I worked there and had access to free burgers, While it does not have the healthiest food there they could do a lot better than those wood sticks they call french fries and Arbies makes fries curly or not way more tastey that McD. I do know that it made a lot of money for those owners and they were there in my day trying to pinch out every penny. I guess they had discounted labor when hiring handicap workers until the guy I saw put his hand in 460 degree shortening to get an Apple pie that dropped of the wire holder- and he did not even scream? I shoveled a lot of burgers there and ate a good amount but then got a good job at the A&P.
Instead of focusing on tech, why don't they make better healthier foods?

One of the things that is killing fast food was during C19 I learned to make all the fast food meals better and cheaper than fast food chains. I make better pizza, burgers, tacos, burritos, chicken sandwiches, ect.
I haven't eaten any McDonalds in over 2 years. The last time I did I noticed with the increase in prices there was also a decrease in the size of the fish fillet and the hamburger seemed as though it was sliced in half. There was way more bun than anything else!!!!! None of these places will ever get another dime from me.
I used to LOVE McD's fish filets but the last time I ordered one I was traveling and stopped at a combined Love's and McD's' I ordered two fish filet sandwiches and was shocked at how really bad they were. They were still partially frozen and had NO taste at all! That ended McD's for me for good!
I recently had a fish fillet sandwich that was an extremely small bun with little cheese and a fish filet. There was no dressing, lettuce, tomato. or pickle either. So unappetizing.
@@noraarico1313 I have worked there a long time ago like in the 70's but the fish did not have tomato or lettuce on it just a gun squirt of that tartar sauce. When did they add all that other stuff? It was not the best thing they had there but I ate them now and then and they were OK if you like breaded fish- kind of like frozen fish sticks you can buy in he freezer and fish stick were probably better in that they weren't boiled in shortning for a time period- you know the cook time for most there stuff is fool proof as they have timers unless the idiot kid working the station did not follow procedure- yes it is a way different world than when I was there- hey a 1/4 pounder was $.79 then.

Surge pricing is a 100% No-Go for us. That is greed personified.
For me, the fate of fast food is dependent upon the experience. I cannot accept touch screens so I use drive thru, like so many others. Wait times have increased exponentially so overall, my experience is better served going home making a sandwich.
When I worked at Burger King (1985), we were told that a customer should have their food in five minutes (ten minutes if it's a lunch/dinner rush.
It would be helpful with these greedy corporate companies if they would stop raising the prices when the quality of food keeps getting worse .. The price goes up the food's not as good they even are limiting what you get for that price..
We used to eat 3-4x a week. It was a way of life. I've had to give up eating out. It makes me sad. It was a social thing for me. Now I'm stuck making 2 meals a day 7x a week. My son's birthday is in 2 weeks and I told him we can go to his old favorite places to eat. I've been saving money for 3 months to eat out 3x for his birthday week. Any restaurants that's got good food has no problem staying open stop messing with the food
That is very nice, but this video is about fast food franchises.
Because of insane pricing poor service and companies getting rid of what fast food products that made them who they are is why people like me no longer go to place when I can go and sit down at a regular restaurant and get cheaper better quality food I'm going to go there. When a Big Mac meal cost more than a steak at a steakhouse there's a problem
I went to a Taco Bell drive thru and ended up paying close to 10 dollars for 3 tacos. They said something

Good, people will be healthier if they shut down. Shut them all down. Only healthy food restaurants with reasonable prices should stay open.
Oh and what people should know is fast food restaurants are all about real estate, not food. Look it up.
I remember in the old days even when times were tough you could always go to McDonald's, they always kept prices, low, not now. Where i live now, they make $15 an hour, they cut staff, and one person and a kiosk is doing the job 3 people wouldbe doing. I feel bad for teenagers trying to get into the working world, which usually starts in the restaurant industry, because they're working 2 jobs to just get 30 hours if that. And good luck on getting 40 hours, employers can't afford to offer health care so they water down the hours and hire more people with minimum hours per person, it's sad.

@@newyorkfan16 It is a cruel world but as an old timer having gone through all this at my high wage of 1.65/Hr the kids of today are better off becoming educated and taking on a job others can not do. True. I have tried different locations and found two nearby that will make a good sandwich. Last week one employee called me Sweet Pea and the other employee told me she will try to remember what I liked and didn't like. I will go there often.
When I lived in Tampa I went by a local Subway, every Friday night, and bought two 12" subs for $5 each! Now, in my new location, they've added a compulsory tip! I don't go anymore!
The problem with the quality of food is the people making to food. It goes all the way back to who supplying the food to the restaurant. People think they had to have 15 dollars an hour to work at a job that someone in high school used to do but someone thought is was a great idea to make a career out of being a burger, flipper. Then you go to the restaurant and people don’t want to help because they are on their phone. The reason the food prices went up is because of the idiots they get paid a lot of money who can’t read and make a hamburger that you order but it was made wrong . No one in a fast food restaurant should be making more than $9.50 an hour unless they are the manager or GM of the restaurant. What did people think was going to happen when they started paying someone to make a wrong hamburger while on the phone, laughing and cutting up and the restaurant is filthy. If you walk into a restaurant and your feet stick the the floor walk out it is nasty.
If I'm going out to eat, I won't be doing it in my car! I stopped using one Wendy's because they never reopened their dining room after COVID ended (and screwed up drive thru orders). I am progressively dropping McDonald's locations as they remove (or never install on new locations) their drink machines. This is user hostility.
I recently went to Burger King in January of 2025.
I ordered a Jr Wopper , small fries, and frozen coke. The Jr Wopper & Frie tasted like garbage when I arrived home. I only live 5 minutes from the Burger King in Toledo Oh.

McDonald’s is getting so overpriced. It’s absolutely ridiculous. It’s hard to get in and out of there for under $12 and the quality of the food is not what it was a lot of fat lotta sugar not healthy at all. Only good thing is you don’t have to tip but the food is not worth a tip. They throw the food at you. They even cut back on their refill or drinks. I normally get water cause I don’t want all that sugar, but most people like their soft drinks and most people are overweight fast food spells fast weight if you don’t believe me just keep going there and weigh yourself every month. I haven't been to any of them in YEARS ! won't be back either. I cook at home.
The last few times I had a burger at Wendys, it had zero flavor. I am not exaggerating. I literally could taste nothing.
It would be good if the fries and hamburgers, etc. were hot instead of barely warm, It would be great if the orders were correctly handled also. I do enjoy the Wendy's $5 Biggy Bag with several burger choices, sample chicken nuggets, and small fries with a chocolate milk or other drink choice. I ate a double cheeseburger at McDonalds a long time ago and started naming it a double grease burger. No thank you anymore.
The thing is that there are plates they put on the paddies. If you squeeze them down and press out all the fat then the burgers really taste horrible- How do I know? I was a grill chief and I only did that one time.
I know a number of small family-owned restaurants that simply blow away the big fast-food chains often for less money.
COVID AND THE REAL COST WILL NEVER BE TOLD.!
18:02 - Food delivery and website ordering was a temporary fad of the COVID Panic of years 2020-21.
@@295g295
Food delivery proved to be not such a "fad", as the re are a lot of places that have gone to UBER EATS , and DOOR DASH , for delivering food to their customers .
Even Pizza Hut , and Domino's still deliver in some areas .
This has been going on before covid, in fact ever since 9/11/01. It was REALLY the end of the American Dream.
The employees are a major factor. Walk into a fast food restaurant, and they look at you, and you stand around for 10 minutes before they even acknowledge you are there. Knowing they're guaranteed to make $20 an hour just fuels the fire. They know they don't have to do shit and they're still going to have a job and get paid. So basically, all fast food restaurants are in trouble.
That was the major factor in why I will never eat at a Burger King again. It seems to be a plaque running through the chain.
It is the mindset of kids these days- they have been handed things like their $1000 I phone too quickly. The management of these places are not on top of this either- these are older people that could not go to college. What do you expect?
Dunkin also stopped making their own donuts, uses flash frozen donuts that they steam heat and get from factory bakeries. Instead of the guys actually making their donuts in house.
Basically people just don't have the disposable income they once had.
Went to McDonald's two burgers, fries, and coke 17.00. for trash!
Macdonalds along with most every other fast food restaurant has priced me out of going to them for half crappy quality food.
It’s time we have one hundred percent employee ownership businesses and companies. We must start with our restaurants. Once we remove all the big greedy controlling everything now. We can have better dining out for everyone. All the delicious things sure be part of Al our communities. One building that has three or four different restaurants in one place.
Too expensive we don’t want to have to order our own food.
Their greed is catching up with them
It doesn't bother me, I don't eat fast food crap!
Same here . Or very rarely.
If I have to order my own food on a kiosk, I'll go elsewhere.
3 Wendy's have closed in my town, 1 became a Starbucks🙄 1 is being remodeled into something? and 1 is just sitting empty. Neighborhood Burger King became a Dunkin and Starbucks became a Dollar General😂
Many of the employees suck and some places have been turned into day care for the employees.
Two words "Price gouging" yes during the pandemic and disruptions to the supply chains, costs went up. But when the costs dropped, prices were kept high to maximize profit. So people decided to spend their money other places. Suddenly some of the chains started to offer lower priced choices, too little too late! And now with food costs skyrocketing, the chains are feeling it all the more.
Also china bought a lot of the food chain supplies
Restaurant workers have the worst personalities possible. Why are they so rude???
Less human interaction that's the future not good.
"Less Human Interaction" is exactly what Corporate America wants . They want to eliminate the workers that used to be the backbone of business in this country .
Self-checkouts, Kiosk Ordering Stations, and ROBOTS cooking food !! That is where the fast food industry is heading , and they are screaming about the cost of operation and having to pay employees to INTERACT WITH THE CUSTOMERS !!
Our local Arby's just closed suddenly. It was poorly managed though.
All I ever got there was 2 chicken bacon and swiss for $ 7.00 with the coupon (used to be 2 for $ 4.00 not that long ago, and they were waaaaaaaaaay bigger). Always got 1 coupon in the mail monthly.
I have not seen a coupon in months so I don't go anymore, and they are always empty when I drive by.
Hope they all close with Walmart
You're blaming it on many things but the main reason is CORPORATE GREED!
Ever since Wendy's announced dynamic pricing I NEVER WENT BACK!
Burgerking, Subway and KFC are really crappy in my European country, there were also a few scandals involving the place‘s hygiene. Mc Donald‘s has simply become too expensive for the low quality food they serve. Wendy‘s and the others never made the jump over the big pond.

I can’t eat a remodel. Quality of food, price and customer service means so much more than a snazzy , updated restaurant
I can pay the same $ for a decent SIT DOWN meal in a restaurant
McDonald's normally has 3 employees working around here. Next is I can go to a normal restaurant and spend my $16.50 for lunch and get faster service. Sadly $15.00 an hr employees doesn't mean good service and is why they are leaning to automated kiosks.
And the person making $15 an hour is doing the work 3 people could be doing. And half the time the kiosk isn't working. You can feel the stress of the employees, it's ridiculous.😢
It is sad, there is no solution, better and cleaner to cook at home.
Well a lot of these employees are not worth the money they get paid all due to affirmative action or whatever they call it these days- it is the same crap. I would have been rich if I got $15/Hr back in the 70's. I got $1.65 Hr. Kids are changing these days- they can't get unstuck from their I phones and they then become brain dead using those things. Don't ask them any questions- a stupid population is easier to manage. My friend went into a hardware store and asked for a dozen of a certain screw- the kid said I forgot is a dozen 15 or 20?
I find that when my food comes from a ghost kitchen, it tastes different and the wait i too long and I wind up with cold and/or soggy food.
If burger King would cook the burgers and stop microwave them they would do good
The biggest problem next to prices is people don't wanna eat inside McDonald's and other fast food because they keep remodeling their locations in taking away c***, people liked. If this restaurant chains want people to go back and eat inside the wind to fix up the places and make them. Look, nice instead of just cheap and boring.
I can go to my local grocery store buy a pound of hamburger a pack of buns, bag of frozen fries, and a 2 liter bottle of soda for what I am paying for a combo meal at Wendy’s
Now try that when your 40 miles away from home. Why did you not make food at home before?
No humans no sale
Some of the stores are independently owned.
I live in texas & the first automated McDonald's they ever built is about 4 miles from my house & that place stays busy & the fastfood places around high school stay busy. It just depends on the location. Everysince they started online ordering, i barely see anybody that actually goes up to the counter & order.
I hope that they will close all fast food entities because they’re more money than a good restaurant.
Folks deserve healthy food
I agree with everything you say. I've always felt over expansion, and competition would hurt the industry. Having a fast food restaurant on every corner would eventually cause this issue. Another factor to consider is people's lifestyle changes toward food. People are trying to eat healthier. Though the food tastes good, it's not very healthy.
Wendy destroyed Wendy’s after her father died she ruined his legacy and cheapened everything right down to the napkins
"Changing customer preferences" are k*lling "third spaces", places where people can meet and mingle that don't depend on an app or screen. This is making us more paranoid and less empathetic towards others.
I totally agree. Especially when the restaurants have covered or removed the electrical outlets to prevent you from charging your phone & enjoying wifi.
24 hours is dangerous and for looser customers
My suggestion is make your own food at home it's safer and costs less money and is most likely healthier.
Quality, prices, and service is terrible. Food has to be good. Mac Donald’s is awful…
Thats probably the best thing they could do for everyones health
My Fridays were the fish sandwich fillet fish delicious the fish portion has gotten smaller and smaller. It’s smaller than a small deck of cards now the cheese is a sliver of cheese and then they want 10 bucks for it. That’s why you’re closing.
I get tired of going through a Wendy’s drive thru and I’m the only one there and they still make me pull up and wait for them to bring it out instead of just giving it to me at the window
During c@vid, we were forced to give up dinning in. What’s happening now is all part of their plan. Also, now that the gig is up, on what’s being put in our foods, no thanks. We’ll make our own dinners. After they clean house, all new will emerge. 🙏🏻
The food has become hog slop..... I've been around long enough to make this statement.....yes I'm older 66.... this new and younger generation have no idea ( how could they ) how great the food quality of these restaurants were lets say in the '70's ...the meats ....the vegetables...the breads...much better quality....we won't address the prices of these restaurants of today simply because of COLA...no not coke....cost of living adjustment...inflation...any time you can order a cheeseburger from Wendy's and the slice of cheese is so thin you can see through it...and that's another point the damn cheese should melt when added to the meat patty...if you're lucky enough to get a patty that's hot enough to melt the cheese....KFC... another joke ( today ) .... the chicken pieces are so small you wonder if these chicken farms let the chickens mature before sold to the market....
When I dine at McD, I prefer the App because I don’t like the attitude of the counter help.
God is speaking to everyone," STOP EATING ALTERED FOODS. AFTER ALL I MADE FOR JUST FOR YOU. DO NOT DRIVE UP TO THE CLOWN AND DO NOT SPEAK INTO HIS FACE."😊❤❤❤😊
