Lets consider DG is specified for 1200 kVA, 0.8 PF. i.e., 1200*0.8= 960 kW. If APFC is connected then it will improve the PF by improving voltage profile and if PF lead to unity at Fixed Voltage then current drawn by the system will be high. Hence the Cable, Fuse, and contactor unit will be subjected to high current and certainly it may lead to damage the same. Hope this helps. 😊
Active power + reactive power is not equal to total power, pl don’t make such obvious mistakes & spread wrong info, these kind of info share lags our nation technologically & also exposes lack of actual knowledge we all hv compare to real genius. Real genius never makes such mistakes even accidentally. Anyway, total power = sqrt (active power^2 + reactive power^2)
