Because I live in a apartment, running a cord I can do but it's not practical. Neighbors walking out and tripping over my cord, not a good impression. So it's between that 24v or the 12v that plugs into the car lighter. I would however like a comparison on that.
Mine worked great until this year. Bought in 2015, it’s 2024. Now it won’t pump past 45 PSI
I bought the corded one first and found out that even though the length of the cigarette lighter plugin is adequate, it would not reach my trailer tires. I now carry the 24V battery inflator, a battery, and a 24v charger in my truck. This is the perfect setup if you are hauling anything.
I just ordered the cordless one today because I'm also tired of dragging around an extension cord to inflate my tires.
It sure comes in handy. I also have other Kobalt drills, so it’s a win win for me.
@@g4outdoors Same here as I started transitioning away from Ryobi to Kobalt two years ago.
I've read reviews on the Lowe's website for this Kobalt 24v inflator that it has a parasitic drain issue. Allegedly, it drains whatever battery is left connected to the inflator. Have you experienced this or any other issues with this inflator?
I keep, this inflator, a drill, and an impact made by Kobalt in my truck at all times with only one battery (work related equipment). Never had a parasitic loss with the battery in any of the tools. I would like to have more Kobalt tools and another battery. Zero issues and they are used on the regular.
@@g4outdoors I'm looking to keep a small emergency kit in my car with this inflator, an impact driver or impact in case i get a flat and have to air up my spare tire. Thanks for sharing your experience with this and other Kobalt tools, very helpful indeed!
@@davidricardo86 Matter of fact, it’s below zero degrees here. 2 days ago, I was out shopping. A couple was changing their tire in the parking lot. I keep 2 sockets that are common for mowers in the truck. I got the impact out and zipped the last 3 nuts off and put them back on. It only had one bar left, but that was a pretty good emergency test.
@@g4outdoors That's awesome you were able to help someone, last weekend was dangerously cold! An emergency tool bag will be crucial in subzero weather. I'm thinking about an inflator, a jump starter, an impact and a power jack.
Plus that back tire seems to be carrying a lot more weight on it to have to inflate (it looked flatter from the start). Seems the battery version is a no brainer.
I pulled the plug on both of them, so there was more to lift on the back. The tongue was holding the front tire up a little more. I’m glad I got it. Especially for the money.
Just watched project farm compare a bunch of them. No Kobalt though. It appears that the Kobalt beat the time of the winner of the PF video which was the milwaukee m12.
I have had the Kobalt inflator for a few years now and it still works great. Might pick 2 more to put in my work truck and my wifes car.
Im on my 2nd personally and Ive become quite the fan of a few of these kobalt products. Just a friendly tip: do not forget that your inflator is still attached and attempt do pull off. Tthis happen to a "friend" once about a year ago and despite a severely damaged looking inflator, it still seem to continue operating at similar reliability despite being spun a dozen or so times b4 it went under the tire while staying connected. That is until the unforeseen speed bumb caught my attention. I mean my friends attention... lol anyways it held up for atleast another 6-9 months b4 compressor seal or ring lost its ability to inflate any useful levels of pressure. It has however retained its ability of measuring a tire's current psi. Accurately enough to not earn itself a 1 way trip to the trainstation
Seems to work great and portable. How was the vibration, would it beat its self up if you had to use it in a gravel lot or on the side of the road? Love tools like this that i can keep in the truck since i work out of it.
There wasn’t rubber feet on the bottom of the battery, but there was 4 rubber feet on the back of the pump. I think it is intended to be used on its back. I wanted the screen to be shown in video, so I had it standing up on the battery. It quite rattle free on its back though. Even though it was about a minute slower than the corded model that made my blood boil every time I hade to get an extension cord out to pump up a tire 3 feet from an outlet, I’m thoroughly happy I got this along side the Kobalt drill so I can just pop in a battery and air up a tire anywhere. AND it’s about $100 cheaper than a Milwaukee kit.
@@g4outdoors oh ok. These battery tools sure make life a lil easier. Looking forward to more boat/fishing vids now that the weather is warming.
@@SouthernComfortOutdoors I’m going to go get my lake pass today, weather is going to be rainy for the next 4 days, then the crappie spawn will come on!!! 😬😬😬😬 STAY TUNED!!
I need to record my serial number for the guarantee, but I can't find the serial number on the tool. I have about 20 different Kobalt tools. They all have serial numbers, but not this tool. What am I missing?
I just bought this along with the batteries 4.0 ah. I started using 5 minutes after that it stop running. Do I need to let it rest for a couple of minutes before using it again?
Can you tell me how many tires you're able to pump with one battery?
Short answer is no. Too many variables. Starting air pressure, max air pressure, tire size. Sorry.
If your using a normal fully charged 2mah battery id say somewhere between 2or3-4 possibly. I forgot my 1st one was still attached and drove off b4 it went under the tire and even then i was able to keep using it another 6-9 months I believe. So far #2 has had a better eye kept on it. These things are honestly worth the $40-$60 Lowes charges for them. My 1st cost $40+ tax in 2020 and unfortunately the 2nd cost $50-60+ tax i believe about 3 months ago
The inflator itself is fine but the batteries only lasted 1 season before they were dead and nonchargeable after only being used twice each. Kobalt has a 3 year guarantee on batteries so I returned them for 2 more and 1 was dead and nonchargeable out of the box brand new. Save yourself some hassle and get the 120v corded version. Their 24v batteries are garbage.
I have a 4ah battery from 2016 still kicking and holding charge in a impact.
Lol. Let's be serious. An extension cord would be used in the garage. You old video u ranted about a battery operated one
Exactly I have electric in the garage but I have two of these one in my wife’s vehicle and one in my truck for road side use if needed and for gagging my camper tires before leaving a camp site they work really well for what they are much better than the old cigarette lighter aka 12v outlet ones
Is the runpause button suppose to kèp blinking while run ing, I,'m not in reasing my psi
