Such a great series, can't wait to see where you end up. I'm glad you got the white flappy bits up, I was starting to think you thought it was a motor boat. Love the new clothe, exactly the colour I would have chosen.
What is your home base marina Mate? This is the first sailing blog I’ve seen from the North West of England. Do you plan on sailing further afield? Stay safe!
Nice video, the passage looked well planed and fairly relaxed with no dramas with a well earned reward at the end 🙂 Subscribed to the channel and will take a look through previous uploads. Hope to see you over on the Isle of Man someday.
Good to see you getting out amongst it now, well done And, the real Guinness is only in Ireland. Such a different taste from the UK. Looking forward to part 2 of the crossing
Lots of myths about Guinness and the real difference is the speed of turnover in Ireland vs UK. So Irish tubs are always fresh and UK ones aren't. Simples.
Brilliant! Great fun and a milestone, your first ocean. Really enjoying your videos ⛵️ As a starter myself (with dreams) I’m inspired (and informed) by your content 👍🏻 Thank you 🙏
Incredible Dave. Very impressed and living in the Peak District it’s nice to know you don’t have to drive to the south coast for good sailing areas! Just got to wait 2 weeks now for the next one….
Well done on your first ocean crossing! Wish I could've joined you for that well deserved Guinness! Q. Noticed your throttle lever was in neutral. Don't have a folding prop then?? Will make a difference to your boat speed.
I would have eased off the wind and done more tacking to maintain a mean course, a lot easier today with all that electronic navigation equipment, a lot harder when one only had a chart and bearings from marked points on land when sighted, relying on dead reckoning and known tides and direction and speed of currents, along with soundings as to depth and marked contours on the chart, aided with a noon sun angle with the sextant and direction, more approximate than accurate on a rolling and pitching boat trying to keep the horizon lined up, forget it if heavy/light overcast and sun not clearly visible. Always a good idea to keep in practice with for when the electronics go on the blink or crash.
No its not click bait at all - read the title “Irish Sea Passage From the UK to Dublin” which is EXACTLY what this episode was about. If you can’t appreciate how this was a milestone in my sailing journey then good riddance to you. 🖕
Looks like you had a cracking time out there, thanks for sharing
😁😁 Handsome chap there i see with Jake 👌 looks awsome dave, we need time out and get the little drone out for some footage 📸
Great video Dave you soon be sailing round the world

Thank you, make sure you watch the upcoming videos of our Scottish sailing trip, managed plenty of sailing there ⛵️
Love those solar panels!
Just...great !
Even better when it's not pouring it down like when I did the Holyhead to Dun Laighoire.
Thank you, that was great! Glad to see you made it. Could you take us through your passage plan for that trip?
Yes I will
Greetings from the crew of Wavedancer westerly fulmar in Dun laoighaire marina.
Thank you, hopefully see you next time.
Nice one Dave
Been following your progress since you bought the yacht. Hope you enjoyed your stay here in Ireland. Love the videos!
Thanks Will, hopefully be back soon.

Thank you. Make sure you watch the upcoming Scottish Sailing videos, we stop at IOM twice.

No longer brewed in UK, only lager brewed in the UK Guinness Brewery now. It just doesn't like the Irish Sea crossing, nor does Beamish or Murphy's.

Great Stuff ! 👍
Thanks! 👍

Congratulations. Recognise that bar the 2 foxes/O’Neill’
Yep, that's the one. 🍻
Interesting to see a solar panel attached like that. Perhaps there is room for another one on Aphrodite?
Well done on your first ocean crossing! Wish I could've joined you for that well deserved Guinness!
Q. Noticed your throttle lever was in neutral. Don't have a folding prop then?? Will make a difference to your boat speed.
Yes a folding prop is on the list of upgrades I want to do.
@@sailingmadness Would also suggest fitting a rope cutter.
Wonder how far you’d sail for good beer……

Not a massive ocean? Its not an ocean at all. Click bait is bullshit unsubscribbed

@sailingmadness you need to learn the difference between a sea and an ocean you jumped up little prick
