- It's been a minute. Here's some tasty boom bap hip hop for y'all. I sampled a great 60's Southern Soul song by William Bell called Forgot to be Your Lover. It was originally released in 1968 on Stax Records.
I ran the track through Izotope RX Music Rebalance and got rid of the bass and drums, leaving me with an isolated vocal track and a track with guitar and strings on it. I chopped both of those up and got some really cool string one shots and some really rad vocal chops.
I made the drums using samples from Splice. I used the Hype Synth plugin that's built into the MPC to get the bass and synth lead.

Had a ton of fun making this boom bap beat on the MPC One. Let me know if you want to see a video that breaks down how I made it!
Would love to see the process of making this. Also curious how you made the little floating blob. The lighting setup looks amazing as well. Love the color!
@@11sveden12 Thanks man! I'll be dropping more MPC One workflow videos in the near future. As for the floating blob, that was all done in After Effects with a couple of Red Giant Plugins - Sound Keys can take your audio and turn it into data, so I applied some effects to a Sphere and the audio data made them all happen on beat. It was a lot of work but it turned out pretty cool and now I can skip the hard stuff next time since it's already built.
@@BradTennant Very nice. Yeah beautiful work! Was the color from the lighting mostly from color grading in After Effects or from the lighting setup itself? Probably a mixture of both I would assume.
@11SVEDEN Yeah, I have some RGB lights in my studio and then I modeled the light inside of After Effects. Which was the majority of getting it to look like it belonged in the scene.
The visuals hit a sweet spot in my soul, the music caressed it. Wonderful beat
Thank you dude! My work here is complete!
Yes!!! Brad we missed you lol I was about to write you a letter like Stan did Eminem lol MPC one Tutorials on the way??
Haha! Yeah I've been deep diving into the MPC for a while now and I feel like I can share some decent tips. Hopefully I can get the next video out quicker than this one!
Feeling this one- cheers!
Thanks man!
Fire!
Thanks my guy!
Great work! Mad love from the MPC Gang, that's where I seen this. Your breakdown of how you did it was especially awesome! Wish more would break down how they made their beats. Absolutely quality production right here.
That means a lot man! I learned a ton while making this so I figured I’d share the knowledge. I’m glad you like it!
Nice vibes 👍
Thanks dude! Glad you like it
