What a night that was!!!! Space cadet central HQ for 9 hrs. I still have my bootleg cassette of this gig, from the days when I had to travel into London to trawl the market in Camden to find such recordings. No Discogs or UA-cams in 1992 and such musical finds as a cassette on a market stall seem more special.
I fell in love with another artist - dj krush through an excellent market stall compilation. Feels a guilty pleasure but I wouldn't have discovered otherwise. Difficult to piece together a high level compilation of dj krush but this guy did it brilliantly so all credit to him.
Incredible night. The Orb were unreal, and DJ Lewis destroyed my brain. I remember leaving the venue at dawn and a bunch of fundamentalist Christians were lined up outside praying for our souls. Good times.
Spanish Castles in Space- 0:00 Little Fluffy Clouds- 17:38 Blue Room- 25:41 Towers of Dub- 36:53 Star 6 & 7 8 9- 46:04 Assassin- 50:07 Close Encounters- 1:04:59
So glad I found this. Thanks for uploading Gordon. I'm pretty sure I was at this one!... does anyone else remember them playing a video game on the screen behind them part way through the set?...
My Discogs comments. Tracks apart from Assassin seem to be fairly similar to the first and (mostly) second album with extensive overlay of just some pretty fun full on space out noises. The tracks from the second album it's a slightly complicated picture as described below. Assassin actually is potentially a fairly different version worth a listen on it's own. It's definitely Brixton Academy as opposed to the Electric Brixton. (The Electric was a club called The Fridge at the time and had a face-lift in 2011.) Close Encounters seems little different to the UFOrb version but Towers Of Dub is - if a little worse for it - almost melodically an upside down version. So it's slightly different but again not that much of interest in my view. So it's Assassin to really look out for here if you were asking me which you weren't so 🖕. Then again you might say it's just a bit of didge overlayed over the top so again maybe nothing special. Close encounters at the end proves to be a storm.
So I have realised this is not the first live session, should have checked my own collection first!! Lesson learned! Look out as will correct this tonight :-)
Definitely Kris Weston on bottom right, he was definitely the best member of the orb, responsible for their beautiful ambient synths. Once he left The Orb the sound changed

Proper mad house that night. Those all nighters were a sight to behold. People giving free acid out 👍😂

What are we getting here? Some bits of Paterson that cauty threw off space?
Below it says the opening is from dark star film so not complete unknown material.
When talent inspiration and humour come together at the right time in space

Not the first but a good one never the lessz
apart from Patterson in that pic who are the other two at that time?
Kris 'Thrash' Weston on the right and probably Nick Burton bottom left.

@@vocoded5290Hmm. I'll have to explore that.

Ah that explains.
