    What about when you are trying to sleep and you are bothered by your next door neighbors talking (not shouting or partying, just talking) and you can hear them?

    I do not like loud noises. I see that as being self aware and smart enough to know when to remove yourself from that situation. No thanks. I don;t need to be going out to a noisy restaurant. so basically you are reducing the persons ability to hear. Bravo genius. Your hearing remains the same...yet you can tolerate loud sounds. No one feels there is something wrong there?

      Thank you! Finally the comment Ive been waiting for. I also don't like loud noises and I see wearing earplugs or removing myself from the situation as smart and self aware. Of course there are extreme cases that need a cure. But fighting mild cases to let people tolerate ear damaging loud noise is just so pointless. I've always found it confusing how many people can easily overexpose themselves to noise which is why I value having some sound sensitivity.

      @@maczajsci7080 Some Hyperacusis/Noxocusis sufferers say to always wear ear plugs and stay as quiet as possible at all costs to protect your ears. But I've noticed these people on Facebook etc never improve? I've had H and T for 4 months now and never use ear defence unless of course when doing DIY, concerts etc but I have no improvement yet. The Hyperacusis started with annoying scary fridge, freezer, car sounds, and annoying letter "S" letter sounds. Then that stopped and was replaced by painful kitchen utensil clanging, rattling keys, paper, plastic bottles, dishes, cutlery, screaming kids, letter S, and even eating and talking sounds. But now I oddly have no problems with power tools, mower, car, fridge, distant screaming, TV, Radio anymore. Mostly closer up sudden sounds cause pain. As you say I apparently have no hearing loss in the test up to 8000hz, all apparently in normal range. Would the hearing damage if any be in a higher frequency like 15000hz? Was super stessed for 10 years leading up to this and also had Lyme disease in the past but not anymore!
      Apparently listening to pink noise can somehow improve Hyperacusis? Wtf?

    I don’t know what exactly this is but I can not stand at all any kind of alarms like car alarm, store alarm, any sort of “beeps”, repetitive sounds. I almost have a panic attack if I hear these kind of sounds. I mention that also I suffer from migraine, but I can’t stand these sound even if my head does not hurt. What it can be?

    PRO TIP: Energy drinks / Pre Workout supplements can alter the hearing and cause tinnitus. For me they cause Hyperacusis, muffled vocals, and tinnitus.
    I found that Coffee does not cause any issues for me and may help my hearing for some reason.

    7-15% of the population is rather high - I thought Hyperacusis was much rarer. I think this is involving the mild cases of sound sensitivity.
    Also, seeking quiet is not a problem, the world is too loud in the first place.

    • @fredsmith6324

      It's 1 in 50,000. I guess this guy doesn't know what he is talking about.
      His suggestion of surgery (that he invented! ) is insane, since more recent research has shown tinnitus and hyperacusis are generated in the brain and not in the inner ear. Most likely the brains reaction to the loss of hearing in the ear.

    Big question is how to treat Pain Hyperacusis? I mean the type that causes burning the next day after exposed to sounds, burning everyday for many like myself and having to stay in silence for weeks or months when this happens to get back to some kind of tolerable level before it happens all over again.

    • @fredsmith6324
      @fredsmith6324 2 роки тому +1

      yes mine is similar. the exacerbation and discomfort comes in the days after exposure to say 30 min or so of noise. i have to manage hyperacusis with a quiet lifestyle, and use of earplugs. you must manage yours well so that you always maintain a good level of tolerance and pain free, then you wont have to stay in silence for long periods to improve your ears. you must choose a quiet lifestyle. the silver lining is it simplifies your life and keeps you away from a lot of stupid fruitless and expensive activities people do in an attempt to fulfill themselves.

      @@fredsmith6324 So live in silence to cure it? Treat it?

    • @fredsmith6324
      @fredsmith6324 Рік тому +2

      @@Hew.Jarsol no, not silence, but you manage it by not having extended exposure to loud sounds. for example, if you must drive for more than say 10 min in a car, you plug your ears. mowing the lawn, plugs and ear muffs. concerts are out, bars are out, stadium events are out, movie theaters are extremely loud and i have to plug the rare times i go, and even loud restaurants are out for me too. one can be exposed to tv, or conversation level sound indefinitely without needing to plug. i play piano, and listen to music at a moderate level for short periods. if you live with someone who speaks loudly you have to ask them to speak softly. you learn what you have to do regularly, or what you have to miss out on, to sustain without pain or discomfort.

    My ears are extremely sensitive, and start to ring, experience a burning sensation, and send shivers down my spine, whenever I hear waterproof fabrics/materials, like gloves, jackets, etc, rub against something, even just a slight rub. I have anxiety when I have to wear these types of clothing, and sometimes it get's really snowy up in new jersey in the winter. Nobody else that I know gets bothered by this. The sound compares to scratching a plate with a metal fork, except with the sound amplified, and the pitch is a little higher. Is this considered hyperacusis, or is it something else?
