Beeennn a minuteeeee since I posted a video. But I love you guys and I hope you like the hair color and try it! If you decide to, hit me up on instagram and let me know how it turns out! Stay Blessed my lovesss
The color wheel will be your best friend when coloring dark hair. Once you lighten the hair to the level 8-the level where you typically get the orange brassy tones- you then have to go in an tone out those orange tones with a BLU toned toner or shampoo BEFORE you put the blue color on the hair or you’ll end up with green hair.
Cancel out the yellow under tones from bleaching then add the blue. That stops it from turning green for anyone else. I know this video is old but this is a beautiful color
I honestly was concerned at first cus I wasn’t sure if this was gon end right the way Sophia just went at it with the plucking 😂, I was like “Oh, no she didn’t ah 😗” buuuttttt then when it got to the end it was like bam 💥 Fabulous! Gurl my breath was tooK! 🤭😍🤩
I love this tutorial, I’ve definitely been looking for the right blue for my skin tone and girl you nailed it. I do have a helpful hint just from a cosmetology student perspective; the green color is due to the law of color, when coloring hair, the color wheel is your best friend because using a hint of red with the blue would have cancelled out the green. Because since green and red are across from each other they can cancel the other out when trying to create a color.
NoAverage UA-camr thanks for replying! I died my natural hair this color and I have green tints in a few spots, so should I get a semi permanent red dye (same dye brand) and mix it with the Royal Navy dye I have? What should be the mix ratio? I knew I should have went to a professional 😭😭
I find the best mixture for a good blue is splat blue envy mixed with either adore's royal blue or indigo blue. I dyed my natural hair with that mix & always received tons of compliments.
I used splat indigo bc it’s meant from brown/dark blonde hair and it’s liquid. But when I dye my hair, I dye it when it’s like 40% dry bc then all of the color moves around and has slip. Less time and everything. Everyone hates splat but splat literally is the best thing for extensions/wigs. It’s pigmented and never fades. You get the same results without all the stress.
I loved that you showed mistakes. I tried the same exact blonde you did and I was HURT when it didn't come out. This was super detailed and honest. Thank youuuuu
I’ve been trying to achieve this color on my hair for years !!!! And it always ended up turning green but like you said I think I need to bleach my hair a lighter blonde to achieve this color. Thank you so much for this video !!! I’m gonna buy everything tomorrow as soon as the beauty supply store opens
‼️PSA FOR ANYONE DYING THEIR HAIR BLUE‼️ I wanted to pass on my advice because it really is a struggle 😭 Buy Kiss Colors Tintation hair dye. I kid you not, it will give you the perfect blue! I never bleach my hair that light because I fear damaging it 💀 But I used the Tintation dye and left it on the hair for 30 minutes and it was the PERFECT blue and it did NOT turn green. I just wanted to put y’all on 💕
Marie White , I put it right on top on the hair. But I’ve also done it on hair that was already dyed because I wanted a different shade of blue than I had.
Melissa Monroe It came out slightly lighter but that was the shade I wanted. They do have darker shades of blue if you’re tryna achieve the same color as Sophia
I just freaking adore you Sophiology. I made my first wig with your UA-cam videos and now I’m about color my next wig for the FIRST time with this video and you. You are an inspiration. 🤞🏾✨
When coloring hair you need to look at it as painting a wall. You need a white primer on the walls first before placing a new color on top. or when you start a painting you use a white canvas to get true to tone colors. hair works the same way. You want to get the hair to the palest yellow as possible without damaging your hair and then tone the yellow with color or purple shampoo. Once youve dne that you will get less green areas. It would've been better if you started with 613 blonde hair. I color hair frequently at my salon. try that next time :) But it looks great either way.
I love how you're so honest and you always show us that not everything goes as plan. Reminds me of when I ran out of bleach and hair dye trying to get ash blonde...I started squeezing the hair dye out of the hair to cover the remaining areas 😭😂😂 but it worked and I love your results❣
The way you talk in your videos is so conversational and familiar that when you showed the bundles after you dyed and they were green, I gasped as if you were telling me face-to-face. I love it and I looooooove the color!!!
“I want people to see my hair color and loose their eyes sight” woiiiiiiii I don’t think anyone understands that SOPHIEEEE IS THAT WOMANNNNNN PERITTTTTTT.......a confidence level I aspire to reach sis ..... 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾💓
I'm so glad you did this video, showing that we are going to make mistakes, but how you finish came out perfect. Beautiful as always!! I will keep you in my prayers.
I love that you were so honest with this tutorial! The first time I died my hair blue it was green... so annoying. But now that I watched this video I can’t wait to try again
Hey girl! So just a bit of color theory to support the lesson you learned about the first attempt with the blue. Hair lifts in stages from red to pale yellow. You lifted to yellow/orange (8). Orange is the opposite of blue sooooo what happened is some of that orange was neautralized by the blue tones and now your hair is only left with the yellow to support whatever went on top(blue), hence the greenish parts. Same reason why the different types of blue dyes you had in the beginning took differently. That deepest indigo color you ended up using had some red in there to support the orange so that it wasnt fully neautralized by the blue, which is why it showed truer to color during your patch test. All that said to say, I'm v,v glad you post and explain the trials in your videos! It means a lot for some of us who are not licensed and gotta save a coin because this is STILL cheaper, even with all the dye, bleach, etc., than having a true professional do it so Thank you! You are God's precious chow!
OMG I've been waiting to see a tutorial on navy blue hair for the longest, blue is my favorite color. Thank youuu! your hair looks so Beautiful.I can't wait to try it myself. This just made my day better lol.
Ok but im so glad for the fact that you said “if its anybrown left your hair will turn green” because i was about to dye my hair without bleaching and im sooooo glad you made this video
I’m gunna try this color next !! I followed you ash blonde hair tutorial and everything I went through you said would happened which is why I love youuuu❤️😭never sugar coating things for us!! Love you and glad to see new vids
Yesssssss she is backkkkkk😍😍😍 i have missed youuuuuu. Thnx to you i have bleached and made my first wig and it turn out gorgeous. Please come backkkk😊😊😊. I watch your video's 3 4 times a dayyyy😁😁😁😁😁😁
The blue looks bomb on you! 😍😍😍 To save yourself stress next time, use 613 hair with dark roots then dye the rest of the hair. It saves so much time rather than bleaching and the color takes better and doesn’t turn green
Ion hair dye always turns my hair greenish. Adore and kiss hair dye in navy blue are the best! They are purple based so as long as you saturate the hair you'll be good. Love this video!
This was one of the best tutorial I have seen in a long time and I appreciate u!!! Amazing job! Your hair gave me life and I am going to try it! Love it
Super late comment but some advice for people dying their hair blue but it's only bleached to an orange gold color remember on the color wheel that blue and yellow together make green. So if you want to dye your hair blue to counteract it from turning green use a purple based blue along with it or add in a hint of a reddish or pink color that will counteract the green. That is why and this girl's case the tanzanite worked better than the other two colors. It's because the purplish blue had enough red in it to keep it from turning green
I think maybe you should have tried the hot water dye method. I would love to see if that works for you cos I been thinking of doing blue too. End result came out beautifully. 😍😍
Loveddd this hair when you posted it on the gram!!!! I was like this girl better show us a tutorial on it 😩😩😩 hope you are keeping your head high for whatever it is your going through and you have my prayers love keep up the bomb pictures and trendy flavor you bring 😘😘
You did a great job boo ! In color theory of you mix yellow and blue you get green . You have to bleach your hair to a level 9 or 10 get all the yellow out then put the blue on .
It is Beautiful! I am 43 in my opinion the colored hair trend is for the younger people but I love this color and would definitely color my hair this blue.
I work at Sally’s and you will Need a filler to use with the sky blue or any kind of blues so it doesn’t turn green. And yes you have to get it as platinum blonde as possible but the filler will prevent the green
You are so talented. Thank you for this content. You have a gift and you will definitely reap what you sow. Can’t wait to see what God is working in you.
I So LOVE this girl💜💜💜 Sophie tou are the real M.V.P. If i hadn't been riding with you since day one i would not believe that your not a professional and that your actually self taught. Nothing but love for you😘😘😘

How ?
@@TT-zf1bn shimmer lights shampoo
@@TT-zf1bn get a purple shampoo and blue shampoo or lift the hair brighter
@@thanksmaddytv815do you do that before or after bleaching the hair?
Purple cancles yellow, blue cancles orange....color wheel. Blue and yellow will turn green.
"i want people to see my hair, and loose their eyesight"...😂😂😂😂 yesssss, i get that totally....Hil-ari-ous
when you hit that close up of the frontal I LOST IT 😭 my mama had to come in here and tell me quiet down 🤣🤣 can we say SLAY 😍🔥
Shekinah Hubert Sis! Not disturbing Momz 😂😂😂
Lol

this blue hair is to die for, it's one of my favorite hair colors and it looks beautiful on you!

That's smart. Im going to remember that
Tyla K. How do you use a tint of red? Buy a red dye and mix it in with the blue?
The Velvet Rope exactly yes. i’m also a cosmetologist she’s all the way correct!
The Velvet Rope try 2:1, look at a video on removing green tones from blue!
I find the best mixture for a good blue is splat blue envy mixed with either adore's royal blue or indigo blue. I dyed my natural hair with that mix & always received tons of compliments.
You work so hard and it shows! Loved this video!!! 💙💙💙

This is legit Navy blue hair GOALS😍 and the amount of work you put into your hair is inspiring❣

Prudensia thank you for the reply imma try it ✊🏽
Did the color come out the same Shade as Soph. ? Or was it darker ?

How do you avoid bot damaging your hair through the process??
Would you recommend just buying blonde hair to begin with instead of bleaching it?
U don't have to do that for blue tho.
Finallyyyyyyyyyyyyyy ! I was waiting for this video so muuuuuuuch 😭😍
Sophia, Sophia, Sophia! You just knew I was bored with UA-cam and blessed me! ❤️😍
