Join a gym with showers and lockers...a gym which is part of a chain which allows you to use their facilities in many different cities is a good bet. Go in, walk on the treadmill for 15 or 20 mins and hit the showers. Also, before COVID, some local recreational parks allow you to use the showers because they have sports activities like basketball practices going on each week, so the showers are on site. Wet wipes and a gallon of water and soft soap/washcloth are good in a pinch. Keep your hair cut shorter if you’re a woman and have your nails done at least once a month so that your hygiene is taken care of.
I spend most of my time in the car since I dont get along with my older siblings much. If i need to go to the toliet I would public toilets. Other places that have toilets include:shopping centre, libraries. If I need to wash my clothes and dry them, I also used it in the coin vendor machine shop... it only cost $2 for wash and $1 for dry. Essential items I pack in my cooler bag are medications and water and food. During hot weather I would stay in the libraries...and sleep there. they open late. Haha yea! I've never seen that movie but my parents told me about the reference when I mentioned to them that I was drinking Soylent. I think the creator of the drink thought the name would be both fitting and cheeky at the same time.
The other day I found a gasoline powered cooking stove. You know the kind you pump up and light. Very nice hot burner a bit loud though (it roars a bit). It breaks down into easy to store pieces, is useful as a vehicle stove (use outside obviously) and for back packing. You could build or get a plywood box to store you kitchen in, making the lid a work surface and the box itself a place to store the essentials and some basic herbs and fluids. You should have some fresh fruits and vegetables as well as nuts and other things that do not need refrigeration. While the meal in a bottle sounds good, it is not natural. You would benefit more by supplementing with natural foods. There are small electronic refrigerators that you could use to store yogurt or somethiing like that and a more healthily diverse diet. Just because you are in a car, does not mean you cannot eat well. Subway tastes good, but it does not have much nutritional value.
Car living in Vegas is a no go. Too damn hot. A friend did it a few years back after a bad divorce but he did it through the winter months until he was able to get back on his feet again.

No. When the pandemic started, I was living in an office and then rented an AirBNB before negotiating with the owners to let me rent it full-time at a good price. I made videos about both of those experiences. Are you finding creative ways to live as well?
Parking in suburban residential areas may not always be a sound option. Too many nosey neighbors. Hard to go unnoticed with people getting the morning paper, walking the dog or going for a jog in the morning. A strange vehicle will stick out like a sore thumb.
Barano You're so right, brotha!! I think avoiding parking directly in front of houses, parking next to obstacles, not doing much in your car before actually going to sleep, and scoping out the neighborhood beforehand can reduce those risks.
I was fortunate enough to find public parking space next to a public library and a sheriff station surrounded by shops on one side and a very quiet and safe residential area on the other side. Basically tucked between them with the sheriff station and parking lot right in between. The residential block has a brick wall separating a small side street about 8 or 9 ft. The side street is nicely shaded with trees. Sheriff's would go on routine breaks and park their patrol cars at the parking lot. They sorta acted like home security for me lol. They generally didnt bother me or anyone else. Occasionally, one or two sheriff's would come up and question me. But, after explaining my situation, they just go on their way. It helps also that there are a few other car campers at the same parking lot. No one bothered anyone and we all kept to ourselves. On hot summer days, the library is used as a cooling center. I would just chill there for half a day, check out a laptop, a few books and relax. Couldn't ask for a better location. Drawing attention sometimes could be a good thing. Residents and the sheriff are less likely to be suspicious if they see the same car parked there almost every day/night. They know this person must be living in their car and as.long as you keep to yourselves, they tend to leave you alone.
I got my only DUI at 42 for parking in such a neighborhood. Doubled my insurance depsite being the safest slowest driver in the world. I was not driving, I was sleeping in my car after leaving a neighbor friends party ; google maps gps showed that i was parked there for hours. Hi. I was going to ask you what do you do if it is very hot outside during the night. Do you open the windows? Also if none of the windows are open did you think that we could inhale all the CO2 that we exhale causing damage to our resp. system?
You don't have to worry about breathing in your car. Cars are built with multiple vents, to provide adequate air flow. You can even roll a window down a little bit, to allow fresh air inside. but the only way you would suffocate by breathing too much carbon dioxide would be if you were to block all the air vents on purpose.
u sleep in the driver seat, i always do,,, also walmart doesnt let you any longer..if u do you risk being kicked out. i sleep in the same spot everynight, everyone who works at this place knows me personaly ,, if you park around the city and sleep never sleep in the same spots every night. as for showering , you,ll be lucky to do that once a week if your lucky.. especially with covid 19.. You would have to contact the municipality your interested in to find out, another one is actually "unorganized townships" which are ussually a bunch of small towns in a large area governed by something called an MRC (or sometimes the province itself) which is sort of halfway between municapility and province. Unorganized townships dont have very many, if any, by-laws or building codes and you can usually find unorganized townships online. Apparently BC only has one, the Stikine Region. @@BrandonRKH
you can shop Amazon there. note that these are NOT high powered devices because if they were you'd drain your battery. remember that the battery is 12vdc so if you have a 120watt converter is gonna draw 8-9 amps off the battery. they're typically powered off the cig lighter. you want enough power though to charge your laptop. my aspire 5 draws about 45 watts while charging but you'd want a bit more than that. I have a 120 watt unit.
Yea, the Civic is not a good option but I bought it long before I thought of doing this. I was actually looking into something like a Honda Element. Those are not as big as a van but have a lot of space while still functioning like a more typical car.
Campout in National Forests for free for 14 days, BLM land free also. Then they just require you move 5 miles down the road, then just pull off on national forest roads. Look up campendium, shows all free camping. Gas would be cheaper if you just chilled for 14 days then just hopscotched down the road to another national forest area. Food I would think $150 per person? Bread, peanut butter, eggs, tuna, top ramen. Get the cheap stuff. Laundry just handwash in five gallon bucket, hang to dry? Water, buy a water filter, buy a 12-20 gallon jerry can, fill up from campground faucets, fill from water streams, creeks, rivers, just use filter, iodine tablets? Shower just get a solar shower, or use a couple gallon milk jugs, keep them in the Sun?
Wow, Chris. That's great stuff! It sounds like you've spent a lot of time living cheap, with very little in terms of material things, but one big adventure.
I don't have a porta toilet, though if I had a larger vehicle (like a van) that would be a good option. I mostly try to be very mindful of when I last ate and drank water prior to going to sleep. I will usually stop by a gas station or Starbucks before heading to the place where I will sleep. I have seen videos of rock climbers (such as an interview with climber, Alex Honnold) in which he simply uses a Hydroflask while out in his van.

What would you suggest for something cheap, something that has variety, something with a decent amount of calories, and something that doesn't require cooking or heating?
Saving money, flexibility (no leases or mortgage), personal experience, necessity. There are lots of reasons that each individual may have, Roseller. Thanks for the comment.
Eduardo, I wouldn't be surprised if that's a reason some people have for it. It wasn't mine but, even if someone decided to do it for those reasons, is that a bad thing for the world? I don't think so. Live as you want and just don't hurt anyone else's ability to do the same. Agree?
so he can have a vlog and hope he will become famous because he talk like a Filipino with a very modulated boice. Talkinh with the glasses on is something that no one smart would do. That just triggered me, the sunglasses on.
Hey Andy. Among a number of reasons, perhaps the biggest reasons were to not pay rent but still live on my own, not be tied into a lease agreement, and to put myself in a position of forced minimalism.
hey again, Eduardo. You love the comment section! No, that was not my reasoning. Sorry. Hope you can learn to move passed your triggers in life. All the best.
Southerngal Nobody is really gonna mess with u at rest stops but if your there all day the secruity guard will get suspicious and wonder why u haven't moved maybe if u don't move and u don't respond to him he may then call the police on u and I don't think u want those problems if u have a job which u hopefully would u should be ok.
Hey Eduardo. Ha, that's kind of cool. If anything, I am mostly criticized for being too monotone and not very expressive (at least in real life). I took some public speaking classes a while ago to get passed that. If you think it still sounds fake, I'll consider that. Thanks! I'm rather proud of my progress so far but there's always room for improvement.
Yes, I'm sure that does happen quite often. I don't really find that funny but I too commend anyone making the best of bad situation. Thanks for the comment!

I don't know why you put laughing emojis but the news just announced recently that there is nowhere in the USA where a minimum wage job can pay for an apartment. Also price of food, medical etc has risen above what is affordable at minimum wage. So, a lot of people are living in their cars near where they work.
The solution to what? I get the sense that you and I have a different idea of what problems I'm trying to solve. How does getting a job answer the question of where to sleep, eat and shower while living in a car? It doesn't. Unless you assume I don't want to be living in a car and would rather live in an apartment or house and don't have the funds to do that.

Best to dress poor. Then no one wants to rob you if you have nothing to take. And being ugly helps in my case
Oooh that's a good tip!!
Washcloth and container of some kind , i fill a 4 gallon bucket and clean myself on a little bench i have or somewere safe to do so, were no one is around.. typically i spot clean myself as i have shorts on,, and do sections of my body throughout the week... Typically in a corner of a parking lot..
My Walmart said I can't sleep there because I work there
Being parked in the suburbs is more sketchy then parking n the hood
How u keep ur drinks cold like meal in a cup
In canada bml land is referred to as crown land.
haha, cool! Is there any crown land near Squamish in BC?
You would have to contact the municipality your interested in to find out, another one is actually "unorganized townships" which are ussually a bunch of small towns in a large area governed by something called an MRC (or sometimes the province itself) which is sort of halfway between municapility and province. Unorganized townships dont have very many, if any, by-laws or building codes and you can usually find unorganized townships online. Apparently BC only has one, the Stikine Region. @@BrandonRKH
Wow, very interesting! I will have to look into this because I would like to climb and make videos in the Squamish area, which I heard is beautiful.
What AC power bank do you use and how do you recharge it?
you can shop Amazon there. note that these are NOT high powered devices because if they were you'd drain your battery. remember that the battery is 12vdc so if you have a 120watt converter is gonna draw 8-9 amps off the battery. they're typically powered off the cig lighter. you want enough power though to charge your laptop. my aspire 5 draws about 45 watts while charging but you'd want a bit more than that. I have a 120 watt unit.
Idk how the showering in gyms is gonna work with this covid stuff
You need to get a mini van or truck with camper shell. Those small sedan are horrible.
Yea, the Civic is not a good option but I bought it long before I thought of doing this. I was actually looking into something like a Honda Element. Those are not as big as a van but have a lot of space while still functioning like a more typical car.
Wal-Mart's are getting pissy.
Very informative, found it very helpful-thank you for sharing man!
What do you do for money ?
When I made this video, I was working as a retail property manager. Thanks for the question, Bob :)
Do you save money.
On rent? Heck yes!
What about going to the toilet? Do you keep a porta toilet?
I don't have a porta toilet, though if I had a larger vehicle (like a van) that would be a good option. I mostly try to be very mindful of when I last ate and drank water prior to going to sleep. I will usually stop by a gas station or Starbucks before heading to the place where I will sleep. I have seen videos of rock climbers (such as an interview with climber, Alex Honnold) in which he simply uses a Hydroflask while out in his van.
I've always kept a bedpan in my car for emergencies.
@@dorinriki And those pee containers, they are medical supply for people to pee into when lying in a hospital bed, they are great, and screw shut until there's a place to empty them
@@BrandonRKH you should have port toilet....get one from Amazon or make one for yourself....easy. All is well...peace!!
Taking A Shower
I belong to Planet Fitness
$25.00 a month
You can use any gym
And they have showers .
Just a thought to share.
Thanks Patty. Yea, now that things are opening up again, this might be a very good idea. It's one of the cheapest gyms around, right?
Just found your channel and surprised your an up and coming youtuber.( I subscribed!) If I may give you a suggestion... Go to your about page and fill it out with your social and website links. I was sad to see that there was nothing there to represent yourself. Personally when I am deciding to subscribe to someone new on UA-cam that's one of the first places I go to after watching a couple of their videos (i suspect companies and partners do the sAme). Anyways
, I'm excited for this channel, looking forward to your content.
You're just one moron out of fifty thousand people who care about that shit.
Also what is the MPG on this 2013 Honda?
It's in the high 20s on the street and low 30s on the freeway!
Are u gonna get a solar panel for your car hey check out this gentleman name is Bob wells he has a utube channel and a book called how to live in your car van or rv he also helps people get started
Ok, will do. Thanks for the recommendation, Anita!
How do you wash your clothes and dry?
I would think laundro mat for keeping clothes washed . Or friends / relative home . Jus my suggestion
In México you can't do that. Parking in a supermarket all night long.
Yea it's probably very different in different countries.
Hi from australia your videos are great
I was so confused when he said BLM. I was like blm? black lives matter?? 💀
Haha yea I guess that term is mostly used for different reasons nowadays. Must be confusing for the Bureau of Land Management
Great tips thanks.
Just paint reflectix black
Hey Matthew, how tall are you?

Subway is expensive
What would you suggest for something cheap, something that has variety, something with a decent amount of calories, and something that doesn't require cooking or heating?
They have $3 kids size sandwiches that r good size and personal pizzas
Thank you
Good tips
Why live in a car tho?
so you can have a vlog and hope to have a purpose.
$
Saving money, flexibility (no leases or mortgage), personal experience, necessity. There are lots of reasons that each individual may have, Roseller. Thanks for the comment.
Eduardo, I wouldn't be surprised if that's a reason some people have for it. It wasn't mine but, even if someone decided to do it for those reasons, is that a bad thing for the world? I don't think so. Live as you want and just don't hurt anyone else's ability to do the same. Agree?
Soylent Green ?
IT"S PEOPLE!!!
Watch the Movie Soylent Green. Let's see if you still want to make your shakes with it ,)
Haha I'll have to watch it! I've heard about it and my parents recognized the name because of the movie 😆
Why are you living in a car?
so he can have a vlog and hope he will become famous because he talk like a Filipino with a very modulated boice.
Blm stands for more than that nowadays
Much more indeed
Suburban is the best way to sleep in you car!!a
You finna just eat that 😅😅 hell nah
Man I don't have enough chips for all of that .......
Grest information
Would be scared to sleep at a rest stop.
Interesting.
💟
Thanks
vanlife4ever!
Nice!
What's up bro do you have Facebook
I only eat shakes
All of these tips have been done before by people actually showing how it's done. Be more original.
Cool! Thanks for the input, Rob! Taking inspiration from your super cool and original lawn mower video. All the best!

he just sounds like a drama queen. His Voice too modulated too fake.
Correct you? It's your opinion, haha. If you're asking if I AM sad in this video...no, I was not. Haha be well.
Find local farmer's markets wrvr you stay. Great eating!
People sleep in a car b/c they got evicted 👏🤣👏
Yes, I'm sure that does happen quite often. I don't really find that funny but I too commend anyone making the best of bad situation. Thanks for the comment!

Why are Homeless people trending on UA-cam 😂😂.
Not funny
I don't know why you put laughing emojis but the news just announced recently that there is nowhere in the USA where a minimum wage job can pay for an apartment. Also price of food, medical etc has risen above what is affordable at minimum wage. So, a lot of people are living in their cars near where they work.
😋
Doylestown green your eating people
haha right
buy a van
get a job. that is the solution.
The solution to what? I get the sense that you and I have a different idea of what problems I'm trying to solve. How does getting a job answer the question of where to sleep, eat and shower while living in a car? It doesn't. Unless you assume I don't want to be living in a car and would rather live in an apartment or house and don't have the funds to do that.
soylent have soy that contain phyto estrogens, female hormones
Thanks for the comment. Is that a large concern for you personally?
I live on caned sardines.
Live on those? Wow. I take them camping a lot and they are actually pretty healthy I hear. Soylent is also another thing I've been into for the last year.
