Thanks so much man, that really means a lot!! if you ever want to collab on anything definitely get in touch!
So happy I just discovered your channel! The information and the length of the videos is perfect!
Great succinct video!
So true. I was a bit eager to replace a filling after detecting a defective margin, but as soon as I started to drill after finally placing the rubber dam, I realised what the previous practitioner had to contend with😅 . Lesson learned!!
I would also add: keeping good thorough notes . So important...even if it's a few words about compliance, it can help the next practitioner understand clinical decision making if alternative methods are used and save them a world of stress!
such a great point about replacing dental work!! got burnt like that when I was told to replace a 3 surface amalgams with a crown
It still happens to me from time to time!! Those giant amalgams are wild cards - sometimes it works out, other times is mush underneath!
I have to say I'm a bit surprised when I hear the dental income numbers in the states. Here in Canada, a new grad can easily make 150-200k, and even 300k. It all depends on the grad, and how well they connect with patients. I've seen dentists struggle to keep a day full of patients even after 5 years in dentistry, because their personality makes it hard for patients to connect with them, and others are super busy from day 1, since they're very likeable. As we all know, dentistry is 85% interpersonal skills, and 15% hand skills. Even 500K debt is something you can pay off here in 3-5 years, if you put your mind to it. Over here we go by the dental fee guide which increases every year, and NOT by the dental insurance plans. Seems like we have a more enviable system here!
Dental is just like pharmacy and optoemry and law, waste of time and the day I get my god dam degree I will rip it up hard and piss on it. It wasted my good years as a young guy and it felt like a depressional journy. Can't wait to rip up my diploma on graduation day
i love this little channel you’ve built, so excited for your next video about community health! i would also love to see a video about some financial advice you might have for future grads in a post covid world! cant wait to see you grow this page 😊
Thanks so much for the comment!! That's exactly why I wanted to start this channel and it's really encouraging to hear. Be sure to share if there is anyone you know that might find this stuff helpful!
Thankfully, it looks like dentistry is coming back soon, and I will definitely keep the financial stuff in mind for future videos. If you haven't seen it, the "Graduates" video touches on it a little bit, but I will make sure to keep things updated as the new changes. Thanks again!

Thank you for your videos. You have a great media presence, authentic, real, and communicate well. I will enjoy watching your media career!
Dr. Klim, thank you so much. That is really humbling and it means a lot coming from you. I learned so much from CADStar!
This is great content on a personal level! I am a 4th year dental student studying in New Zealand. I find most of our lecturers and tutors don't address the learning curve that we will face in the work force after graduating. They tend to pretend like they have never struggled in their life with dentistry, and look down on us because our work and understanding is not up-to their standard. Maybe that just comes with the job description 😆. It's nice to hear real authentic experiences we can relate to as new graduates. Thank you!

@@talmageandchenoa Dentistry is for people who couldn’t get in Medical School 9/10 go for dental. We both know that. This goes for any dentist out there
@@samskidaddle5699 I chose dentistry over med. med is long and hard plus they work shift work at the hospitals as newly grads and still have to study and work to specialise after they graduate. Yeah no thanks

Hey man, I just completed freshman year of high school and I sometimes think about pursuing a dental career after HS graduation. I have been told that my Math skills are above average but despite that, all my other grades are *okay*. I do not know whether to pursue a dental or engineering career.
Honestly, looking back I probably still would have pursued dentistry BUT would have gotten an undergrad degree in something more practical like tech or engineering (I like that stuff anyway) instead of biochemistry (which I got because it was the most convenient after fulfilling all of the dental school pre-reqs). That would kind of give you some more options.
You could do some job shadowing to see if dentistry seems like something you would like.

@@samskidaddle5699 is engineering any different from this?
@@o7pi yes, since it’s much shorter and fewer hassles. Also, you actually learn something in four years compared to professions I stated earlier you don’t due to thier horrrible cirriclums.
Good video! Was your first year salary a lot lower than it is now?
Thanks! My first job was actually a pretty decent salary. Typically owners make a little bit more, but it ranges a lot because there is so much business "overhead". I'll do a video on that sometime!
I love your channel
Thanks so much..that really means a lot!

I’m newly graduated I don’t know if I have to continue the master degree because in my county is very difficult what’s ur advice to me i want to get a job after the intern year
I wish I had some good advice for you!
The only thing I could say is try to meet as many dentists as you can, and try to talk to as many clinics as you can. You could also reach out to people who graduated a year or two before you did, and ask them how they found their job.
What country are you in?
