But even though Layla was gone, she got Lucy, who she saw as a daughter, their bond was not that of only friendship and contract but that of child and guardian, of surrogate mother and daughter, their bond was extremely powerful, that is the only reason she was able to summon the celestial spirit king.
I saw their relationship as almost like a big sister/little sister relationship. Aquarius always thought Lucy was annoying little kid but she still cared and protected her
Lucy is so amazing man i feel like she does alot of awesome things when the guild isnt there its so frustrating because i always wanted the guild members to see how amazing she is and what she can do... thats why im happy Natsu praised her for that :)
Lucy was killing it with the Celestial Whip, she summoned 3 Zodiac Spirits after already summoning Sagittarius, summoned the Celestial Spirit King, pulled off the Uranometria with the help of Aquarius, and saved the guild. Idk how ppl call her useless, Lucy goated after all that😂👏🏾.

honestly Lucy wasn't appreciated by the writters enough. It irritated me SO much when they would hype up so many of her fights scenes and they would be great with her kicking ass, to need to be saved by Natsu or someone else. Cuz she has so much power but never got many times to shine imo
Lucy is more of a strategist than a fighter. Also she came up clutch many times during the series. Not having flashy fight scenes doesn't mean her powers are wasted.
This proves lucy is strong she summoned Celestial Spirit King, and when she use Urano Metioria the Celestial Spirit King knows lucy is out of energy power so he did the last hit to defeat its enemy, even though he wants to fight longer, lucy is running out of energy.
Lucy is like a trump card. The card you can use and turn the tides when even the strongest cards cannot be used. I really like that about her. But yeah, it just can be sad (as a reader/watcher who has been seeing her character development) how she often shines when there is little to no one to see her.

Before we do that though, if we don’t get it now, I’m assuming she has to have every star dress combination ever. Another idea is that the celestial spirit a trade was appears when you combine every star dress together.

If she could muster up the courage to destroy more keys in some penultimate final battle, she could summon him and then resummon him as many times as she has keys.
