Badass in GMG. Alvarez, humiliated and got turned into a fanservice tool by Dimaria, didn't do anything against Neinhart, got bodied by Larcade and turned into a fanservice tool again by Marshima, by having all members of the only all female guild becoming models. For literally no reason.
This definitely more of an issue that most mangakas don't like writing long arcs. It's a problem with a lot of Shounen, introduce a shit ton of characters, utilize about a third of them, and rest only get relevance if they get an interesting fight or arc on the author's whim. Naruto did the same thing except maybe even worse. Shkiamaru literally stole everyone else's screentime and development from anyone that wasn't directly attached to Naruto. Neji got nothing but a death scene, Lee peaked at Chuuni Exams, Tenten did literally nothing the entire show. They're just side show nobodies that exist to be props for the main characters.
