What are you charging out the door for the kit & install? Driven in driven out.
This I am wanting to do this to mine.
I was quoted from a local diesel shop - $10,000
Around 7k parts and labor.
Feel free to email us and I can provide an estimate.

This should be a mandatory WARRANTY REPLACEMENT on CUMMINS PERIOD.
Not every fifth gen truck has this problem. I have 230k miles on my 2019 with no issues. I’ve ran AMSoil 10w-30 and change the oil every 15k. I’ve had this conversion kit sitting on the shelf for a few months, just haven’t installed yet.
Will that ever happen? They did that with the cp4s right? I just got a 2023 paranoid about this but everyone I know says to worry about deleting it first
Great video. See ya Jan 13th for my install!!
The last good Cummins wsa built in 2018 ,its been downhill from there.
Thanks for sharing the knowledge guys, keep up the great work!
Awesome job coming up with this kit. What is the warranty on this kit?
For an upgraded factory cam to a 178/208 cam. That’s not a bad kit. How did these motors like 15w/40

No issues. Once back to the flat tappet, everything else engine wise is the same as previous generations
Hydraulic lifter would probably work if the oil was kept relatively clean. In stall a 10 micron by-pass filter in conjunction with the standard full flow filter, service both at oil change time, which should a REASONABLE mileage (7500 miles max IMO) and use a quality oil. EGR is killing the diesel engine.
Also the typical Diesel engine oil dilution. 7500 miles max for sure. I do 10w30 at 5k
Did it sound any different after the conversion?

Yes, you will get a little more valve train noise after the conversion. I’m convinced it’s still a tad quieter than a traditional 07.5 -18 truck.
I have the good old 91.5 Dodge give you three guesses what’s under the hood, I had to have my engine rebuilt because this other guy worked on my truck. He screwed it up real bad fortunately, he didn’t damage my block. He did ruin my Hamilton Cams stage two head, the little jag off And so anyway I had DNJ machine over in Ohio do my motor and I have all my pistons now this engine at 520+ thousand miles. And over the years, I ran Amsoil exclusively with a bypass filter, and I also have superior air filtration. I got rid of the original air filter which did a very good job and I replaced it with a Donaldson DBA 5202 it’s a nano fiber technology that’s crucial but like I said it 520,000 miles I’ve done up to 50,000 mile oil changes now to be fair you know I was leaking a little bit so I’m dumping fresh oil and not every day what about every 1500 miles had to toss a cord in OK and then I use Donaldson filtration I have those pistons and they’re still in excellent condition. My wrist pin boards are excellent. DNJ did not have to re-Bushe my small end on my connecting rods. All they did was put new connecting rod bolts in and my cam tunnel was absolutely literally perfect. The original bearing up on the first journal on the front of the block was still in beautiful condition. How can anybody say you have to change the oil every 15,000 miles now like I said I would change my oil filters both of them anyway I know guys gotta see what they say on UA-cam to help protect them from lawsuits fair enough this is six in a row Jim from Kennerdell pa
Is there any difference on the Hamilton Cam 178/208 vs the stock cam - lift duration?
great video! how long does this usually take? with the motor in the truck. seems like a 8hr day or so…give or take
A week, doing 6 hours a day, 5 days. 2 days for ancillaries. Don’t ask 🤦🏽♂️🤣
Can the Tappets get magnetized ? Aswell as is it a must to swap back to 15w40 ?
What size magnet fits?
It's my understanding the larger commercial trucks as well as school busses stayed with solid flat tappets.
Awesome job explaining, I’ll be ordering a kit soon thanks guys.
We would love more content from you guys!! Keep it rolling
let's see hp/dyno videos like firepunk does!
Great job guys! 👏
Thank you for sharing
Really good video and explanation.
EXCELLENT VIDEO THANKZZZ FOR SHARING!!!
Pulling them back up is a pain in the ass. It's actually easier to pull the engine ,set it on its butt pull pan and use your hand to swap lifters.
I would have to disagree if the cab is off.
We have it down, it’s fairly easy. Maybe 20 min 2 guys working together tops.
Let me know if you nee any help on your next one.
How much does this job cost ?
Wondering the same thing…

Just put a twelve valve, p pumped, compounds. Or don't and burn $100k on your new piece o' trash.
