I can't thank you enough for posting a video that clearly walks through the steps of how to do construction from primitives. I'm in college for animation and want to get ahead of my course schedule. Your lessons will surely help! Now onto the torso video!
You did a wonderful job! How I wish more teachers could follow such a clean, simple and peaced flow of work! you are doing an exellent tutorial series! and its helping me a LOT! hahaha thank you very much!
Although I'm late to the party, I must say thank you for making a video that is generally recent and not 5+ years old. This video is very informative. I love it and my biggest struggle was modeling the hands and arms in the software. Again love the videos.
Excellent tutorial Monica! Thank you for doing the work so others and I can develop by watching your well and comfortably explained way of creating such a cool character =)
I’m so excited for this! Catra is my favourite character ever 🐱🗡 ✨ . I struggle with good topology (especially with hands 😂) but you mentioned some great techniques I can’t wait to incorporate into my next model! Thanks Monica, looking forward to the rest and love your work as always :)
👌 great job Monica have been out of the loop for a bit following a family loss, and you know things usually come in three's so the present situation does not afford me the freedom I use to have but I always try to keep up to date. Keep up the good work and thank you for being there. Eddie T
@@AcademicPhoenixPlus any tips for the head? I’ve been struggling a lot trying to get anywhere with it. I end up making it look very close to that “Dame Tu Cosita” frog thing from the meme every time I don’t put in the nose XD
Hi! I wanna try following this turorial :D Just wondering though, is this ok to model her in this pose if I want to rig it? I’ve heard so muchv about needing to make it a T pose
Hi Monica, I'm confused for what software 3d is the best for working fast/animating/modeling/vfx between blender and Maya. Could you help me to choose which one of these software are good for me? (I need to make a project of an animation with glasses that pour the water from one glass to another, using the same water without dispersing it.) Thanks for help
Hi Monica I can't find out reference image on your website can you pest link it in detail so I can download it and work and learn simultaneously with you.
Hi Jignesh, thank you for watching and your comment. I went ahead and uploaded the reference file, so you can find it here: www.academicphoenixplus.com/downloads Hope that helps! :)
Mam I had a question while modeling the leg as you said when I am in the front view I should scale the leg from one direction and in the side view also from one direction but while adding edge loops should I also scale them from one direction in both views or scale them from the centre?
Thanks for the suggestion. I don't plan to bring her into ZBrush since I'm keeping her details relatively low/cartoony. But definitely texture in Substance Painter! It's going to be fun 😄

I'm sorry to hear that Eddie. I hope you and your family are ok. Don't worry, my tutorials and Maya will be waiting when you are ready. 💖
so you start with the limbs first? Some people start with the torso or even head, which do you think is easiest?
I usually start with the body first, I find it a lot easier/faster. The face takes longer. :)
@@AcademicPhoenixPlus any tips for the head? I’ve been struggling a lot trying to get anywhere with it. I end up making it look very close to that “Dame Tu Cosita” frog thing from the meme every time I don’t put in the nose XD
thank you Monica🌷 very helpful

This was awesome.
This is wonderful, highly recommend!
Thank you!!
Thank you so so much Monica
You are so welcome!
I usually see most tutorials start with the torso for modeling, why do you start with the legs first?
It's fast and gets results quick, then I move on to the slower stuff. :)
You are life saver

Thanks for the question, Arko! When you add an edge loop, scale on one direction only. :) Have fun modeling!
@@AcademicPhoenixPlus Thanks Mam
Want to know how this model you can do it with z bursh and substance painter for detail and texture in up coming vedio 🥺...

Super 👌🏻
Thank you!!
Hello, is there any way to model a character without a full reference sheet?
Sure, but you'll have to make some educated guesses
How did you scale cylinder on just one side ??
instead of grabbing the manipulator in the center, grab one side of it. It helps if you are in an orthographic view. I hope that helps!
@@AcademicPhoenixPlus it did , , thnx :)
Well, let's start a new modelling adventure :p
Enjoy!
