Take it from me. I have this bumper on my JK 2 years going strong and I do not have 1 rust spot on it! Im so glad I pulled the trigger on this. My advice to you ... If you install a winch take the bumper off (trust me its easier lol!) Its very difficult to get your anchor bolts for your winch tight and keep in mind this bumper sits very close to your grill so be mindful not to scratch the paint. If you upgrade your headlights put some painters tape between the grill and bumper to protect your paint. Good luck!
Super happy to hear you're enjoying the bumper!! Thanks for watching and your comment! -Zach
I wish I could say the same about my install. Great directions but the hardware sent was cheap as well as some missing. Another issue was paint on the threads caused me to have to go buy a die to chase them with so I could get the nuts started. Then there is the cheap plastic retainer spacers that all snapped trying to thread them on. Sent an email to go to management and nothing, just crickets...... Love the look of the bumper sitting on my garage floor though.
Thanks for the video. It helped a lot!🎉
Thanks for watching! -Zach
Really nice front bumper and looks like a high quality build. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching, Nacho! We appreciate it! -Zach
Thanks for posting this. Helped me out quite a bit :)
Can't wait for 150.000k. 😎☺️
I bought this bumper second hand for a steal. Unfortunately it did not come with the lower brackets. Can I install without them? Or will Smittybilt send me a set
Which winch do you recommend for this bumper? I bought this (yes, from you) and the installation went perfectly thanks to your video. However, I bought a certain 12K winch that just BARELY fits. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that it was pinching the OEM LED fog light wiring plug. Sadly, I'll have to remove the winch and return it. So, I am open to the ideas of which winch fits without being TOO snug. Thank you!
Factory fogs are crap - even LEDs. But my GoRhino steel bumper is about 60 lb, but this thing is 150 at least.
Will the SRC front bumper fit a sport jl 2018 without modifications? Is the src the same as the xrc but with bigger bullbar?
How would people put a license plate on aftermarket bumpers like this for instance any ideas?
Plenty of options if you search for hawse fairlead license plate brackets. Several manufactures make them to install behind the hawse or roller fairleads.
There are aftermarket kits that allow you to install the license plate, either by snapping it into the hawse fairlead,(if you're using synthetic line, or a flip up style if you have roller fairlead when using steel cable.
I want this bumper ...will it also fit a 2020 JL rubi. ????
This bumper will definitely fit a 2020 Rubicon! -Zach
@@extremeterrain will the GEN 1 also fit the new JL ??? i see their considerably less.
Hey Joe. Is this install the same for a 2012 Jeep Wrangler JKU?
Its a freaking heavy ass anchor probably 100lb! My jeep literally dropped 1in after installing! Had to get rid of it!
Aftermarket steel bumpers tend to be heavy. 😅 You should check out aluminum options if you want something a little lighter! -Zach
Did you guys lift this Jeep? Could you tell the tire size and rim offset please?
This Jeep isn't lifted actually! The wheels and tires are 285/70R17 Falken Wildpeak AT3's mounted on 17x9 Mammoth D Window Steel Wheels. They have a -6mm offset with 4.7" of backspacing. See the following link! www.extremeterrain.com/mammoth-jeep-wrangler-jl-d-window-black-steel-wheel-17x9-j100952-jl.html -Zach
@@extremeterrain Thank you very much
Will this fit my jk willys 2016 man?
This bumper is specifically for 2018+ JL model Wranglers, it will not fit your 2016 JK. Check out our site for options that will fit though! -Zach
Will this fit a 2021 gladiator?
Yes it will! -Zach
I have this. The wiring to the fog lights feel very exposed, will they hold up to the weather and wear and tear?
Just Curious, did you ever get an answer to this? I was wondering the same thing.
I’m wondering the same thing as well just install mine today in the wires are very exposed
