Great video, thanks for bringing details about the subject to the wider audience - the UN/ISG is quite misunderstood by many fans. The models of soldiers from western military formations weren't cut, and can be used as skins in the multiplayer mode - KSK and US Special Forces by Mercs, SAS and NATO by Freedomers if I'm not wrong. To my knowledge, that was their purpose from the beginning. Besides Anomaly, ISG is also present in Global War, an overhaul mod for Call of Chernobyl, which focuses on warfare and contains many factions from various other mods.

I always thought the faction was just made up for the sakes of the mods, i did not know there was this much on it canonically, good job on the research.
The Zone reminds me of Apocalypse Now in ways and I would love to see a group based on Colonel Kurtz making their home in The Zone. Only to have somebody sent in to put an end to him and cover up the fact that a special operations group went rogue and that getting out would be devastating to whatever government they came from.
"Have you heard about a new major expedition into the zone? Technically, they're environmental researchers from the UN, but that's just on paper. Sure, they've got a couple four-eyed scientists, but one look at all the others tells you they're seasoned fighters. Mechanically, they're just reskinned mercenaries, but I think the cryptic lore behind them is what makes them cool. They aren't motivated by money like the mercs. The idea that even veteran Stalkers get spooked by them and are intimidated by how efficient they are adds more depth to the universe. It's also pretty believable that foreign governments would be greatly interested in the Zone. I hope the developers keep them in canon lore and expand on the faction.
I came across these guys for the first time in Anomaly in the Pripyat outskirts and they opened fire on me. I assumed it was Monolith until I looted them and say their badges and it was like wtf why were they hostile?
Based on the story in Anomaly/COC, to me, it seems that UNISG is actually CIA SAD/SOG operating under the guise of the UN in the event they get caught. The UN doesn't actually perform operations like what is presented nor does the UN operate undercover special operation groups. It's a bit more logical however if you take their operation and mission tasks and think of other actors who would want the information that UNISG was seeking out and that would be NATO/US. I can easily see the US sending in CIA SAD teams (or other SF groups) into the zone under the cover of the UN to obtain information on the zone. It also matches up with their all kill, no capture, no witnesses rules of engagement along with their need of operating undercover.
This is gonna be some Very schitso but you're talking about there being a second scar in an older version of the anarchy cell intro, (9:30) Maybe this wasn't by mistake and maybe there was originally supposed to be twins or possibly this could be some sort of setup or introduction for doppelgangers (I just want more doppelgangers or doubles to be put in the game)
What surprised me the most is the severe lack of UN presence in the zone, sure we got mercs but that's a no brainier. Mercenaries are made up of both foreign and eastern European members, And as you mentioned before, has very obscure clients. The zone is pretty interesting that western powers would try to dip their hands in it, especially the UN if they can see something useful...or profitable from the zone. Consider that artifacts are being smuggled out of the zone it's only natural that everyone around the world are interested. Honestly speaking I would like to see more of them in the future and I would agree that the anomaly depiction is a bit lackluster.
If you want to know more about the builds and many interestimg facts about Stalker, you should also watch Vandaleys videos on the builds. He covered every single build worth mentioning.
Interesting, I thought it was more fan content then cut content, As you said the UNISG stuff on Anomaly is pretty lacking, I wish people tried to make more story mods using Anomaly, it could be very interesting to see.
Well.... there was lab called lab_20X cut from CS, the lab location in redforest.... The entrance to the laboratory is via an elevator in the old man's building (the elevator is not working), and there is a second entrance somewhere in the forest, there were more mines and tunnels. also there is cut (mission), a SOS ,the old man ask you to find what remain from sciences expedition near the space anomaly, This part of the map was more like a copy of the generator map, but it was burnt and more radioactive (thanks to lab of course 🌚☠️) that part from the map was meant to be more wide area to explore ,there you should find some dead ISG agents and father falren (not sure about his name) body. you find pda belongs to one Isg agent (The reason for cutting is the lack of time and the lack of resources). sorry for weak EN this informtion i got it from Russian modder who was digging in old game versions
As Critical_0 said, Mercs feel much better suited for the Zone than ISG. In Anomaly while playing as them you can switch factions into Mercs, so that checks out. It could imply that the "merc umbrella" basically means that ISG has some agents in their ranks that just hide in plain sight... considering the faction is secretive already it works perfectly. Mercs are cutthroats that trust no one and can kill each other just as easily as their enemies, so they would never question new members in any way/shape/form. In general, ISG as a seperate faction starts sounding stupid. Also, they truly are lacking in Anomaly in terms of their faction quest-line, but I found them quite fun. You know how you can get an RF-Receiver to find stashes of loot randomly spread out? I never went for traders and only used NATO guns or AK-100 line and getting resources through these stashes. If you RP this way, plus killing everyone you see, their faction stops feeling as lacking.
In regards to the discrepancies with the generators. I wonder if STALKER intended to have them scattered around the world, not just have them be located in just one area. I remember playing STALKER Anomaly and Lost Alpha, and finding what looked to be an abandoned generator in the cut map, Darkscape, though I'm not sure if this was part of the original map, or added in by the modders.
@@anomalousdugout9557 I see. Well, I hope someday GSC brings back the Generators map in some way and finds a good justification for their inclusion. While it makes sense they would put them in the NPP, to make that area the definitive center of the Zone, I find the original Generators map was just a somewhat better rendition artistically. I love the design with the generators set up in a hexagonal array, antenna in the center, creating anomalies and these otherworldly geological features, and it was a fully explorable area with an underground lab below it that can also be explored. The generators we got in the final game are just haphazardly thrown into the powerplant region clustered together. When I first played the game, I'm honestly not so sure if I even noticed them.
Amazing work. 2:14 where did you get this info? I read a comment here saying that those Western models are available in multiplayer. Very interesting indeed
Despite the weirdness of Anomaly making the ISG faction a hostile faction to all, I kinda like it. It makes them seem like CIA Black Ops agents who want to leave no trace of their presence in The Zone and conduct all kinds of nefarious operations.
Honestly, if they add ISG it shouldn't be apart of lore, more likely if they add it, it should be just a branch of side quests, maybe someone will give you a task to find down their secret base (as a side mission), anyways brilliant channel as always.
With the Oblivion Lost generator area from this cut cutscene coming back in art for Stalker 2, what do you think the odds of us encountering this place in the new game are?
3:00 you say that, but the biggest piece of evidence pointing towards the mercs being of western origin is the blue eagle that is their badge. its pretty unmistakable, but then again that is literally the matco tools logo.

@@anomalousdugout9557 can't remember if they're featured in any other mod?
@@latewizard301 Apparently they appear in a mod called Global War.
@@anomalousdugout9557 never heard about it, guess i will check it out.
A masterpiece of video as always comrade stalker.see ya again soon
Thanks a lot.
An interesting faction, though if I had to choose between ISG and Sin/ Dark stalkers to be featured in HoC I’d choose the latter
Yes that's understandable.
damn, Strelok has a channel and you got to work with the legendary stalker himself
Stalker is a prelude to Metro change my mind.
Thanks! Cool to have a video about the isg:)
It is nice indeed.
Very interesting, thanks for the video.
Glad you liked it.
This is gonna be some Very schitso but you're talking about there being a second scar in an older version of the anarchy cell intro, (9:30)
Maybe this wasn't by mistake and maybe there was originally supposed to be twins or possibly this could be some sort of setup or introduction for doppelgangers
(I just want more doppelgangers or doubles to be put in the game)
True stalker mod has some great use of UNISG
Yes I understand, thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Thank you for the video. I enjoyed playing as them. Having to hide from all stalkers
Glad you liked.
I never knew any of this. Thank you.
Nice.
great video brother!
one of your best videos
Maybe.
If you want to know more about the builds and many interestimg facts about Stalker, you should also watch Vandaleys videos on the builds. He covered every single build worth mentioning.
I have watched them.
Hell yeah! Let's go, Anomalous!
Yes.
UNISG is so lackluster and absent in Anomaly that I never even noticed their existence in the hundreds of hours I've put into it lol.
finally something about the UNISG!
Yes.
@@anomalousdugout9557 stay strong stalker 💪
UN Is the most interesting zone for me. Though I love playing at them in Anomaly. I wish they were implemented in the game.
I understand.
@@anomalousdugout9557 also, great video as always. Wouldn't be so interested in stalker lore and knew as many things if it weren't for you. :P
As a german, i find your pronounciation for Kommando Spezialkräfte very good👍🇩🇪....Anyways good video
I did my best to say it correctly, thanks!
Fat Yoshi mentioned word uuuuup 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Interesting, I thought it was more fan content then cut content, As you said the UNISG stuff on Anomaly is pretty lacking, I wish people tried to make more story mods using Anomaly, it could be very interesting to see.
Glad you learned something then.
Well.... there was lab called lab_20X cut from CS, the lab location in redforest....
The entrance to the laboratory is via an elevator in the old man's building (the elevator is not working), and there is a second entrance somewhere in the forest, there were more mines and tunnels.
also there is cut (mission), a SOS ,the old man ask you to find what remain from sciences expedition near the space anomaly, This part of the map was more like a copy of the generator map, but it was burnt and more radioactive (thanks to lab of course 🌚☠️) that part from the map was meant to be more wide area to explore ,there you should find some dead ISG agents and father falren (not sure about his name) body.
you find pda belongs to one Isg agent
(The reason for cutting is the lack of time and the lack of resources).
sorry for weak EN
this informtion i got it from Russian modder who was digging in old game versions
the game was more like OLR engine ,i think game version was bulid 1306...not sure
Alright, thanks for sharing the info!
Man, i always love coming back to your videos, they never disappoint.
I also wanted to ask, what's the name of the soundtrack used at 2:46?
Thanks. Track is Wasteland I.
Just wanted to say I love you anomooloos
Maybe you love my videos, not me though.
Alright, thanks for sharing.
Ooo boy!!!! Back in the zone!!!
Yes!
Added by the modders.
UN in fiction always being Badass than actual UN, remind me with GOC
Amazing work. 2:14 where did you get this info? I read a comment here saying that those Western models are available in multiplayer. Very interesting indeed
Thanks. Got it from the Russian wiki.
I like the UNSIG because it makes sense
Yes.
Despite the weirdness of Anomaly making the ISG faction a hostile faction to all, I kinda like it. It makes them seem like CIA Black Ops agents who want to leave no trace of their presence in The Zone and conduct all kinds of nefarious operations.
NATO's response with the KSK, British commandos and American SF represents France, the camouflage is indeed CCE and the Russian word means ''France''
Honestly, if they add ISG it shouldn't be apart of lore, more likely if they add it, it should be just a branch of side quests, maybe someone will give you a task to find down their secret base (as a side mission), anyways brilliant channel as always.
Thanks, that's understandable.
With the Oblivion Lost generator area from this cut cutscene coming back in art for Stalker 2, what do you think the odds of us encountering this place in the new game are?
I’m hoping that UNSIG has been or will be added to Stalker 2 either in the base game or in one of the DLC
3:27 "The Chronicles of HeagEdd Globalist."
Yes.
I always had a interest in this faction
I hope the video made it justice then!
just watch out for those whirligigs. if you're nimble you can make it out of them. vet like you knew that already, though.
Nice video! Your german pronunciation is quiet good!
Thanks, I did my best to say it correctly.
3:00 you say that, but the biggest piece of evidence pointing towards the mercs being of western origin is the blue eagle that is their badge. its pretty unmistakable, but then again that is literally the matco tools logo.
I don't think that is enough evidence. They can also wear that to fool people.
