Pokemon marriage is also canon, and in games some people have pokemon BF/GF’s.
Pokemon have been shown capable of actually talking, many psychics especially through telepathy. Pokemon can also understand human language.
Which means it isnt so different from a Khajiit or Argonian from Skyrim, as an example, or a Dragonborn or Tabaxi in D&D, or even a mass effect alien race~
Pokemon also pass the Harkness test, and also there is a pokemon human egg group, indicating breeding is possible~
One story in a game even claims a Human and pokemon have children~
