I was 4 years old when this started. I do not remember the series. I am 58 years old and I like the slower pace. It is a lot different than the trash that is on TV now. I am hooked! I cannot stop watching!
Barbara Parkins and Mia Farrow were so yoooooung Miss Parkins was so.young she still had chubby cheeks! She was ( and is) so beautiful.! And Mia was so young but clearly show biz royalty. I was in 3rd, 4th, 5th grade. I spent my allowance on movie magazines. I always sprang if Mia was on the cover. O Geez is that Patricia Breslin? ❤❤❤
The conversation between Allison and Betty was the most ridiculous unpurposeful conversation between two people I have ever heard. With that said, I am so happy to find this on UA-cam 👍😊
Never got to see this show, but heard so much about it--so much thanks for putting on UA-cam! Would loved if there were commercials from those days--they were probably better then we have today, and fun to watch as well!!
😎😎😎 BTW janxopox, I love your profile photo. My brother fronts 2 R&R bands and he has a shirt with the same picture. When he was 2 years old ( yes he was already singing then) he called it a " bop bop" .We told him the proper name, so he started saying " Dapter,".
Dr. Morton: "I'm going to find out what this is all about!" Well, it's all about the fact that you didn't take Catherine's pain seriously. You never ran any tests to see what was causing the pain. You chalked it up to nerves and gave her sedatives. You let the ulcer go on until it perforated and surgery was necessary, but it was already too late. It's your fault she is dead, Dr. Morton.
Betty Anderson left Peyton place and eventually ended up at the Woodstock Festival in 1969. Now she has 6 children and 14 grandchildren: How times have changed.
Yeah, and had you waited, she would have been dead by the time Morton got there, and in a whole lot of pain in the meantime. She's dead because of you, Dr. Morton.
I’m really getting into & loving this soap opera I have seen the movie with Lana Turner & The Return To Peyton Place I’ve yet to read the book. I just wish whomever was responsible for makeup for the tv series would have done something about Dorothy Malone’s outrageous & distracting false eyelashes every scene she’s in I find the lashes totally distracting otherwise I love this series!
The book is very very good. Read it if you can. Miss Malone had to do something to stand out from all those young teenagers. She's very beautiful and was such a good actress. You probably remember that Lana Turner didnt have any trouble keeping ahead of the pretty young girls in the movie. Miss Turner in reality- o my goodness, Kent Smith!- was very much like the Constance McKenzie character the Grace Metalious created. Every man in Peyton Place was hot for her.
I thought it was nice. Were it not for Rodney, the two probably would never have interacted. But now, they will both play a part in each other's lives.
Miss Parkins' haughtiness is a hallmark of some of her characters . But if you listen to her commentary on the Valley of the Dolls DVD, she seems like a real sweetheart.
Peyton Place was supposed to be ABC tv's answer to the British soap Coronation Street but the latter lasted over 50 years while PP stayed on the air for just five...loosing Mia Farrow hurt the show but they should had recast the character of Allison...and kept Dorthy Malone as Constance...too many changes hurt this show and it started out way so good.
It can get that way on a few occasions but i still like it...its far more realistic than any soaps we currently have...children age at a normal pace and the dead stay dead...people look like everyday people..not models and those with over done botox...real flaws-they can have pimples and wear glasses...working middle class people with real struggles...i know it wont appeal to all but im addictive!!!
Jim Davis..I wish Mia Farrow had stayed. She could have matured gradually. Casting someone else as Allison would have led to unfair comparisons I think.
I LOVE Peyton Place and hope we will continue to have access to watch this wonderful series! 25:07
Barbara Parkins and Ryan O'Neal we're great in this show, truly the main stars.
My favs are Ed Nelson and Dorothy Malone.
Yes

You're very welcome. It was a labor of love, uploading this beloved series.
Was great in 60ties & great today
If anyone should be blamed for Catherine's death it's Dr. Morton; he's just trying to weasel his way out of responsibility for his patient!!
I don't like that Dr.Morton
WHERE IS MARTIN. CATHERINE'S FATHER.
chuysmum Me neither. He’s an arrogant, lying snake.
@@Siasmummy he's a quack and a nasty human being on top of it
@@suehamlin51 He will soon learn his lesson and redeem himself.
Very intense!
The conversation between Allison and Betty was the most ridiculous unpurposeful conversation between two people I have ever heard.
With that said, I am so happy to find this on UA-cam 👍😊
it gives a clue to the viewer to where Betty is going i guess....
Agree!
Let's get the 40 watt light bulb out and do some surgery. I'm surprised Dr. Rossi isn't smoking! LOL!
Ha-ha!
Never got to see this show, but heard so much about it--so much thanks for putting on UA-cam! Would loved if there were commercials from those days--they were probably better then we have today, and fun to watch as well!!
512k..I bet one sponsor was a cigarette company and another a brand of coffee.
i'd suggest they get a few more lights in that operating room.....stat!

Another great cliffhanger
Need to watch General Hospital in 1963

Barbara parkins was so hot especially
In valley of the dolls.
Anne( to Lyon):" I was engaged to( Kevin) but now I realize it's impossible. " Cue for Lyon to jump her bones.
That OR was daaaaaarrrk!
I think the scene with Betty and Allison showed that they wanted to be friends. After all Betty did take Allison 's advice
That ticking! That would set your teeth on edge!
The best actors are Barbara Parkins, Ryan O’Neil and Dr Rossi.
They used to operate on ulcers in those days
They still do operate on perforated ulcers.
What does Betty want?!! She’s driving him away with her behavior.
Betty Anderson left Peyton place and eventually ended up at the Woodstock Festival in 1969.
Now she has 6 children and 14 grandchildren: How times have changed.
Groovy
Patrick McCarthy..So maybe that explains the dramatic change in Barbara Parkins appearance.
No she made valley of the dolls and the other Rosemary's baby
@@jeffreyberkin9842 Guess so.

She dies and Leslie says “ I should’ve made him wait”. How stupid a remark is that?
Peyton Place was a village full of idiots

God Betty is such a moan.....but she is absolutely beautiful....
That conversation between Betty and Allison made no sense at all!
I thought it was nice. Were it not for Rodney, the two probably would never have interacted. But now, they will both play a part in each other's lives.
Betty was nasty with Allison.
Betty was so snotty with Allison.

Because Allison is being nosey.
And sometimes y find y can’t abide with what y thought should be yours
Peccato che non sono in lingua italiana gli episodi.L'avrei rivisti volentieri li guardavo da bambina
What is Allison? A night stalker!
LOL!!

I tried watching "Coronation Street" a number of times. I was bored senseless!
