Hank Williams Jr was 3 or 4 when his Dad passed away unexpectedly. His dad was away alot touring constantly, without touring and radio there was no record sales. Artists were gone months at a time and constantly recording new music for sales and radio play just to tour again. This song was by Hank Sr but never released during his lifetime. 😢 His son honored him.
Just think this original recording sat in an attic in Texas for 40+ years before being discovered, then Hank Jr takes it and turns it into this. Where him and his father get to sing together for the first time. Hank Jr lost his dad when he 3 years old so this is a very special moment.
AI? No. it is video and he is also in color cancelled video so he is singing a duet with his father. Much like Natalie Cole did with her late father, Nat King Cole, on an awards show. Very touching. Suzy, God bless and comfort you dear sister. I prayed for God to bind up your wounds, heal, and sustain you; although we know it will take time. When you have a great and enduring love, its sudden absence is keenly felt, so ponder the good times and memories, and know that each time God brings you to my mind I will pray that you are lifted up and able to complete the special purpose He has for you here on earth to accomplish!
This song holds a special place in my family. I'm 40 something (I think 45 without mathing it out) and my grandfather was a huge fan of Hank Sr. My father, his son, was a huge fan of Bocephus aka Hank Jr. and I am a huge fan of Hank III, but also the other two Hanks, as well. Sr. died at a very young age while on tour, but there was NOTHING that man would write that wouldn't become a hit. He had a magic power in song writing. This song never made it on an album. Jr. raided the vaults and decided to make it a duet by recording himself in parts of it. This was in the late 80s, maybe 1990. Now, I had a baby sister who had been just diagnosed with cancer at age 3, but this one was one of her favorites as well as Waterfalls by TLC. She would sing every time either came on the radio. Unfortunately she passed just shy of 5 years old when I was 11 years old. This song was unable to be listened to for a long time by many in the family including myself, but I love that you are reviewing it. Love it.
Brother I appreciate your content. Rip to my dad this was his favorite artist and man I wish I could listen to this with him one more time. Shout out to you
Van you're the man You're a lot like me I like all kinds of music I like opera I like orchestra music I like jazz I like gospel I like a little bit of the rap and I love rhythm and blues
This was actually a recording of Hank Williams singing Hey Good Lookin’ and they pasted someone else’s lips on his face to make it look like he’s singing this song.
I do like the artist and enjoy the song, but can't help chuckling, remembering when we first heard this song on a classic radio station late 80s, and we thought it was Dr. Dimento (a Weird Al parody type guy). You can use your imagination on how we redid the words. 😁
If I remember correctly, there were not any video recordings of Hank Sr. singing that song. They used a different song's video recording and "slowed it down" and "sped it up" at the appropriate times in order to make it appear that him and his band were playing Tear in My Beer. I think they also had to "adjust" his mouth (or insert someone else's mouth) in order to make it appear he was signing the correct words. Then, by "video magic" they inserted Hank Jr. into the video at the same time.
Those suits are called - I kid you not - "Nudie Suits" 😂 It doesn't have anything to do with nudity. They are named for a designer with an unhinged appreciation for rhinestones. He was the go-to designer for costumes for country singers in the sixties and seventies.
If you can, please check out Hunting, Fishing, Loving Every Day by Luke Bryan. I played it at my son Jonathan's funeral. He passed away 9/2/16 at age 21 years, 4 months and 1 day. Much ❤ from Payneway Arkansas to all my @LFRFAMILY

Hank Jr never knew his dad, Jr is older than his dad was when they recorded him doing this song.

My condolences Susie 😢🙏❤️

Whatever techniques they used, the video is great.
You are correct about the video. They used Hank Jr's lips singing the song onto Hank Sr face. No matter how many times l see this video, it's amazing.
@@ednafenton7558 Especially considering the time when it was created.
His dad wrote this song thenhank sang it because he miss his dad
