    Is it possible to use 12v to 5v buck converter to power ESP. So there is only need for one Power source.
    And ist it possible to use ESP8266 (cheaper than ESP32)

    • @usagiakimbo2506

      Yes and yes. Even easier route is to use 2812b led strip lights because they run on 5v power.

  • @piotr.wozniak

    You should do 5v from 12 to have only one voltage source. It is too complicated now.

      I dont even understand what he’s using the 12volts for cause the lights run off 5v? He does mean Ws2812b right, not w2812b cause only the ws2811 or ws2815 use 12volts I’m confused by this video

    • @Jackofall-tech
      @Jackofall-tech  2 роки тому

      Hi Michael, since I am using govee leftover led strips, those work with 12v power supply. And ESP32 needs 5v. You can either use a buck converter or led strip which needs 5v.

      You can create a Preset for your favourite effect. In the cofig. you can select that Preset number as the default start option. So, every time it reboots it will start with the preset rather than the default effect. hope it helps.

    I don't like the thought of entering my wifi credentials into a website.

    • @TheRealNikos
      @TheRealNikos Рік тому +4

      Wled is open source, so if you still don't trust that, you have the option to check the code to confirm that it isn't malicious. Also, if you don't trust the website itself there are other tutorials and how you can enter wifi differently. Lastly there are alternatives too, but almost always you have to enter your wifi. It may look like a risk but you can trust it, besides that, the wifi name is already open to everyone and a password is only used to get in the network, which means someone needs to be near your router

    • @Pnky-chan
      @Pnky-chan Рік тому +2

      You're not putting your credentials into a website he has the website open in the background but the box that he's putting the Wi-Fi in is the program that he just installed onto the ESP 32 board, It's just facilitated through their website. Also since you're on UA-cam you most likely use Android and/or Google products and I would wager you've saved a password to Google at least once so you're okay with certain websites having your credentials
