Ok, I know the eternal guard were in a forest so would have done plenty of damage still, but the turn after they failed their charge, why did you not charge both units?! Halbardiers in the flank, probably not even in the forest for dangerous terrain so they wouldn't take much damage, and no magic buffs on the unit.. perfect opening!
Cullen I like you but honestly you lost 100% because you move back all the time instead of baiting him. You have 2 units against his 1 you would have no problem hiring him in flank if you would juse you're turns so move and not just whait until last turn. But with that said just keep it up man and you are doing a good job! :) just give me more skaven and lizardmen! ;)
Cullen just shouldn't play Empire really, the army he wants to be playing with his style is Dwarves, but instead he brings units of expensive Cav and uses them to sit there slowly backing up waiting for the enemy to charge them.
If he had been thinking a turn ahead he could have flanked those wild riders after they obliterated the outriders. Instead the demigryphs just sit around...
51:40 i watched it multiple times and paused repeatedly to get a view of the second dice. it was a 5 before he flipped it, making the leadership test 11. that treeman broke from combat dirty cheater!
Nope. Look at the right hand face of the die at 51:38, through the branches of the treeman. It's clearly a 5. Therefore the number on top of the die cannot also be a 5. THEN he flips it, so that at 51:40 it shows a 5. But the original role was a 4.
@@nathanglover8938 Good catch. The bigger issue though is that Treeman are Ld9, so he should've been failing anyway. And the Spellweaver general is also only Ld9, so anyway you slice it he should've fled.
Most of his army is cavalry, and half of it was shooting cavalry. He just wants the first attack and has *no* obligation to move first, so he lets all of the enemies move into range. At least, that'd be my logic for a cavalry heavy empire army, first turn bait enemies into getting out of position then hit their flanks as hard as I possibly can!
they obviously knew each others army lists prior to this game. so much magic. if the empire player had perhaps defended his ranged weapons better he could have whittled down the unit of eternal guard and the tree man. I agree that he needed to kill the wild riders quick but this strategy cost him the game. his cannon was lost to a misfire way too easily. the volley gun was extremely effective when he still had his engineer.
@23:59: I'm not familiar with the wild riders. Can they move freely? Impassable terrain and enemy units in between the start location and end location of that march..?
Interesting Batrep, I so expected those gladeguard to charge the knights in the flank and win combat because of static res. But they didn't. The mindrazor miscast would've hit the shadow-wizard in the archers, not the melee!
What am I missing here with the DT test. Cullen says that he’d lose a whole chicken if he failed instead of taking a wound without AS, but that’s not on the spell at all nor is it in the DT test description. Where did I miss this in the rules?
What I cannot imagine is that people travel all the way to MWG for a battle report. They book it. Plan it. They KNOW they will be filmed. Why are the armies not finished? Or coherent with bases etc . If I would go there I would want my army to be as awesome as possible.....
I think you're mixing up "Look out Sir!" with the drone rules in 40k, PG. 93 small rule book states that you're passing off the hit roll not the wound. So you would've been passing off 9 hits that then would've needed to roll to would against the war machine toughness. It again references the 'Hit' in the Codex. Also have you given any thought to putting a witch hunter into your big unit there? The innate MR he provides is useful and the Terror immunity while niche is quite nice to have as assurance. Love seeing your games Cullen, also I've found that the LA upgrade for the halberds to not be worth it.
I love this guy's Wood Elf army but he seriously needs to stop taking that Banner- it's awful, especially since it costs like, what, 100 points? Terrible.
Snubbull Agreed. Considering most Wood Elf units come with Vanguard as standard, it's just one of those pointless items that makes you say "What were they thinking..?" 😑
Well hello there everyone. I need some serious explanations here, so please help me understand this battle report. Frist of all the pistoliers. Why even move them, when you can shot without penalty, force the charge and declare flee and it would be the same when moving? Secondly, okey, the knights where bad move, maybe, with attacking the treant, but! Horses doesn't attack while feared? 3 or 4 attack turns missed, then why didn't the Demigryphs or even Halbaders join? They had so much time, and with flank secured, they could even make it complicated for the Treant when he turned to attack Knights, and even that, the archers wouldn't even shoot. The left henchmen, I think Outriders, I don't even get there valiabylity here, so no point mentioning. And thirdly, what is even the point of using bowmen, when You don't even use them to block the chargeges? Clearly the Wood Elves player didn't want to leave the forest so it was clear to procede for the Treant. Please help me understand this passive play and being a one, big shooting practise dummy? Thanks :)
Please, for the love of all that's holy, make an army list that is different MWG folks!! Otherwise all the battle reports feel the same. Shake it up, paint some new units. Try different army configurations please!!!
That's the major problem with these batreps. They're all the same in effect because the house armies don't really change other than the odd magic item etc. I appreciate it's not super easy to find all the models they need etc, but Ebay is a thing for a start. With a bit of effort I feel like they could bring more armies to the table and more variety inside those armies. Or even just experiment and fail horribly for our amusement.
Cullen never put the wound on the wizard from the misscast, not sure how these mistakes happen (he would have been dead in the last round because of it)= :(
pistoliers suck dont bring them and you charge your low toughness knights into a treeman tarpit even though he cant do anything for a turn or more. go for the archers
I'm pretty new here but just wondering if you guys have ever played Warhammer the card game. Used to really like it few years ago and thinking I could maybe see some of it here.
Love your channel, but y'all gotta stop with the shaky hand cam. Just have a fixed overhead camera, not only is it better to see the overall battle in context, but also don't cause motion sickness...
Question..
Has Cullen ever advanced his Empire army 1st turn?
20:4610 inches from the back, you roll 10. Therefore you hit where you called, which means you hit ONE model, not two.
Bring a witch hunter for once, flagellants, free company... mix up the empire feels samey everytime
Yes, more wood elves
Tell you what Cullen, with you one would think losing is the new winning. Great moves keep it up, proud of you.

Treating empire like skaven

It kills me that his Demigryphs just sat there all game. Like at least spend your points on a gunline.
If he had been thinking a turn ahead he could have flanked those wild riders after they obliterated the outriders. Instead the demigryphs just sit around...

I just did the same thing. Definitely a 6 and a 5. Brutal
Great catch, at 0.25 speed is clear that he cheated

Watching that tree man not take his thunder stomps made me shed a tear
Been a couple years, but I thought you couldn't stomp cavalry?
What fucking witchdoctor did Collin piss off?
oh man, that tree man model looks amazing. So cool. Also jesus that poor Empire player couldn't roll to save his life XD those rolls were groooosss...
Does Empire genuinely have to constantly back up, or is that just Cullen and Steve's playstyle with them?
Most of his army is cavalry, and half of it was shooting cavalry. He just wants the first attack and has *no* obligation to move first, so he lets all of the enemies move into range. light cav
You have FLAMING Swords and don't throw it on the knights that is fighting a FLAMMABLE Treeman ? :D
Mattias Lagerlöf The horses did not attack the Treeman either.
To be fair I don't think he knew its rules considering how afraid he was of it.
Or possibly on the Hellblaster, with +1 to wound and flaming it should've been enough to chew up the Treeman.
Really cool armies, always fun to watch some fantasy!
So I guess Cullen had no Idea how good Wild Riders were. And why in gods name did you never try to stop Curse of Anraheir.
Interesting Batrep, I so expected those gladeguard to charge the knights in the flank and win combat because of static res. But they didn't. The mindrazor miscast would've hit the shadow-wizard in the archers, not the melee!

Forgot to use thunderstomp from Treeman, might of helped..
Doesn't that not work on cavalry?
Some intresting army's choices. Good batrep!
fucking hell that hell-blaster is scary
Don't the Outriders get to stand and shoot as a reaction to a frontal charge?
Treemen and all forest spirits have hatred but there were no rerolls??
Dryads have Hatred, Treekin and Treemen do not.
@@Deris87 oh shit yeah it's not just part of forest spirit
can treemen not thunderstomp ?
It is interesting how WFB is still being played.
Still quite alot actually
where to buy these models?
Don't Treemen cause TERROR? Were those knights immune on the charge?
You only test for terror when receiving a charge, not when charging.
Is the treeman a character? How can he have LD 10?
That's definitely a screw up. The regular Treeman is only Ld9 and the Spellweaver general is only 9 too, so there's no way he should be Ld10.
Well hello there everyone. I need some serious explanations here, so please help me understand this battle report.

It feels a bit unfair when every army can counter wood elves by picking up a ruby ring and lore of fire...
That's my favourite tree man!
One of these days cullin i will bring my beastmen to fight your empire. Once i has the cash to travel
Cullen never put the wound on the wizard from the misscast, not sure how these mistakes happen (he would have been dead in the last round because of it)= :(
Thought single models didnt have flanks n such. Cuz the alone. Yes, no?
Hi. They no longer have 360 degrees vision. yhat was a previous edition. Therefor they have a facing and thus a flank etc.
haha that fireball roll almoste made me pee in my pants xD that was so funny!
Hey you lot have made me want to play fantasy again what edition are you playing?
pistoliers suck dont bring them and you charge your low toughness knights into a treeman tarpit even though he cant do anything for a turn or more. go for the archers

Looks painful, make me wonna play warhammer 2
Yall forgot the stop for the treeman, those knights would of been dead as all get out
I'm going to move my pistoleers here. Ah, done. Wait, that was a bad move? Then i move them here instead.
Bullshit, friend.
Is this age of Sigmar or the 8th edition, or the fan 9th edition?
It's 8th edition Fantasy :)
Is collin firing the cannon? Am a rn the first 1/3 of the vid and he still hasnt used it. Really annoying
That roll for LD on the Tree was DEFINITELY an 11 (5), why cheat?
He doesn't 😂 quite clear if you watch in 0.25 speed because you can see the 5 on the side of the dice
Treeman needs to take a test to not pursue the Priest and it's not an overrun... 8th ed Warhammer could be quite boring couldn't it?
Only the people playing it.
W końcu ciekawa bitewka... :P
Jaj woodelves
