Hello my lovelies! Today's song is called 'The Cursed Ones'.
The most famous ghost ship in literature is the Flying Dutchman, the earliest mentions of which date back to the 17th century. The appearance of the flying Dutchman is said to be an omen of doom, and those who have claimed to see the ship, describe it as ghostly, spectral vessel with tattered sails, glowing lanterns and a ghostly crew.
The captain of the ship, who was called Hendrick Van Der Decken, was a proud and stubborn man. He refused to heed to his crew when a terrible storm approached. Despite their pleading, the captain refused to turn back to seek shelter, and instead, he defied the elements and cursed God. As the result of his blasphemy, everyone aboard the ship were doomed to sail the seven seas forever, unable to make port. According to the legend, the curse can be lifted if the ghost ship finds a crew member who is willing to take captain’s place and take on the cruse. The other version claims that if the ghost ship ever makes port, it will be a sign of the end of the world.
To be honest, I can’t help but wonder if the legend of the ship describes, in fact, a human life. Unable to restrain our own arrogance and pride, we doom ourselves and others who depend on us to suffer the mighty tempests, that will undoubtedly come our way as the result of our poor choice. Stranded in the vast waters of life, with no light in sight, and no hope in heart, we roam the world wrapped in our own agony, like the ship enveloped in dark mists, waiting for a kind souls to free us from our own curse.

when you put it that way, it does make sense
When I read about it arriving at port my brain physically felt disturbed by it, and I want to know why. Maybe I'm just tired, but the thing about human arrogance seems to make sense - it's what happens when you don't listen to a warning, so it arriving seems to make sense, especially when so many religions and cultures have an end of the world prediction that never comes true in their time, and they all were around during the time of boats being commonly used as a main form of transport. Maybe one of them might come true one day, and the ship will arrive - maybe the ghosts will be a symbol of our disbelief, and how unlikely it was. My god I'm tired, I have no idea if that even makes sense.
It is a metaphor.
Otherwise it wouldn't be bearable.
But the story also tells how we all often make our lives hell. People against people. All the abysses that open up when people with power and money impose their way of thinking/view on things in life on everyone else.
Wars, oppressed women, abused children, disrespect, torture, hunger...
It's unbelievable what some people do to other people.😢
I think a bit of both. All myths and legends start from *SOME* form of the truth.

Încerc să mă pun eu în gândurile tale, în crezul inimii tale. Cunoscându-ți sufletul, încerc să deslușesc motivul aroganței și a mândriei. Necunosând însă viața și mai ales trecutul apropiat și cel după maturitate, numai încerc să găsesc eu ce motive ți-au putut declanșa starea prezentă. E posibil o iubire în care ai fost părăsit sau chiar și înșelat. Iar din partea ta iubirea ta nimicită, a creat o adevărată ruptură și a sufletului și a gândirii raționale. Da am mai văzut aceste simptome, exact într-o situație identică cu a ta. La asta se mai poate adăuga și o altă situație, în care comportamentul tău arogant care s-a format după pierderea iubirii suferite, nu e agregat de oamenii din jurul tău, nu au răbdare cu tine, nici tu cu ei, simți parcă toată lumea complotează împotriva ta. Iar ca să accepți o nouă iubire, după fosta decepție, te face foarte precaut, nici numai vine să crezi că ar exista, că s-ar putea să fii fericit. Dar vremurile și mai ales vânturile se schimbă și acum având experiență în navigarea vieții, deodată te trezești la a acea recunoaștere că adevărata IUBIRE, acum a apărut. Și după ce ani de-a rândul tu numai în largul vieții ai navigat, nu ai avut ocazia să vezi că la orizont a apărut uscatul, noua Iubire

Beautiful! Ghost ships are my favorite kind of ghost. The ocean is very alien and dangerous, so finding a still-floating vessel out and about amidst the wind and waves is a horror unto itself. I still remember finding the one in Wind Waker, it gave me some great chills.
