Many years ago I traded a neighbor for a 1963 FC170 DRW that had belonged to a fire department. When I got it in 1983 it had 1300 miles on it. It was 100% stock with the original Continental flat head 6cyl
I used it for many years but time and the elements took its toll on it and I parked it. Ended up selling it, tore my hart out, to someone who was going to do the restoration that I was not prepared to do at that time. Have regretted that ever since. When I sold it, it had 23000 miles on it.

Those tires look great on my '57 FC-150! Thanks again. I love your tow truck.

Love the FC Jeep and I agree upgrading makes it more dependable that straight up restorations, also presents different challenges. (Just my opinion)

Currently working on my 1960 FC170 resto/mod. I see your red 170 has a decent stance to it. Did you relocate the spring mounts. rearch your springs or use something else? If you did relocate your spring mounts would you mind posting a quick video of how you did it? Thanks!

I did not relocate the spring mounts on the frame, I did flip the rear shackle, replace the top two springs with longer springs so the geometry would be correct. I re-arched the top 3 springs in the rear. The fronts, I just changed the pack a little bit, added a leaf and moved the springs to the top of the axle instead of under the axle. I am running full width axles on the Jeep, the rear is a 95 F350 Sterling and the front is a 81 K20 Suburban.

Well, my work truck is a Chevy workbed truck so I drive it almost every day. My run around town personal daily driver is my Cherokee or my J-20.
