  • In our first episode of "Less than perfect cars we love", we had the honor of meeting an Icon in the off-road world. Crusty, the Narrow Track Jeep FC150 and his owner Rich Conlon (Please note that I was careful not to commit the crime of mis-gendering the truck....totally a dude). Crusty is one of several Jeep FCs at Complete Offroad in Dubuque Iowa and is no garage queen. He may appear rough around the edges but is a very capable rig. In Part one, we do a walkaround and become familiar with this unique vehicle. In part two....we go do some pretty hard wheeling with Rich.
Come along! Its a lot of fun.

Had one 1957 my wife wouldn't ride in it , people pointed at us going down the road. Spent 3 years restoring it. I dragged it off a hill motor locked axles wouldn't turn and no drivers door, boy was it pretty.

One of these little Jeeps was just spotted in a Vermont junkyard it looks like it's in restorable condition from which you could see on the UA-cam video three weeks ago it was. I am 50 years old and never seen one

Forward control Landrovers have been around since the fifties, widely used by UK forces for all manner of duties such as battlefield cas evac ambulances, full bodied as radio vehicles and forward command vehicles and even dropside gun limbers for towing rapier ground to air missile launcher set ups when put into series production in the early seventies, these rover V8 engined vehicles are awsome performers on road and off.

Some cool stuff here. BTW, I have an FC-150 project for sale, circa 1960. Body off and most of the body work done already. Also have a rolling chassis and most of the body parts necessary to rebuild it, already in primer. The engine is free and we were driving it before work began. The owner recently passed away, so this is an estate sale, as is. I'm in lower Ct. Got about $15k into it so far but accepting offers because our storage is running out. Drop a note here and I will get back to any interested parties.
