    Thank you for reaching out to guys like Earnie Bailey, I think they’re often overlooked when talking about Nirvana, and it’s unfortunate because they have so much perspective and experience to share. I also never would have known that he makes and sells guitars. I wonder if he’s build me a left handed one. In addition, it’s really inspiring to hear his story and how he played into this phenomenon. Great interview

    Thanks so much for doing these interviews, Daniel, and thanks to Earnie Bailey for allowing you to speak with him. These are really respectful, you ask intelligent, pertinent questions, and seem to have dug up singular information about the band and Kurt, whereas everyone else drudges up the same material/recycled gossip. Please continue, I would love to hear a sit-down talk with Tracy Marander or Toby Vail (the girl who inspired “Teen Spirit” and much of Nevermind).

      It goes to show that a lot of these guys just loved being asked about kurt and Nirvana. It's inspiring that this guy no one knows can get in touch with these legends and create better content than tv hosts and Hollywood

    I’ve been a huge Nirvana fan since I was 9 I’m 27 now, I watched this to hear about Nirvana but to my surprise the first few minutes have made me feel a bit better about the fact that both of my grandfathers have passed away in the past 17 days. This guy is the most down to earth guitar tech I’ve ever heard, what a sound lad. (I’m Irish sound means cool)

      I'm sorry to hear about your two gramps lighting out for the territories so close together. Seem like quite the sound lads as well, given how highly you speak of them. I feel strange speaking to you from two years in the future, but perhaps by now you're set straight and out of the sixes and sevens. Not every light at the end of a tunnel is from the front of a train. Long days to you, son, and pleasant nights.

    Excellent. Excellent birds eye view of Nirvana. Good stuff. Being a good backline tech is all about having back-up gear. Keep an SVT parked behind the 8x10 ready to go. Put a spare kick pedal under the drum riser. Always have a guitar strung up and tuned close at hand. And never leave the stage during the show.

    great i wished to lidten to an interview with Mr. Bailey because its so interesting to listen to somebody who was in it and knew Kurt from this musical friendly side, great, and I was so surprised because my favourite Nirvana son is very ape, too! Lyrics are great and music very good! Great to listen to him saying the same! And my 2nd ist radio friendly unit shifter, Followed by heartshaped box. Inzeresting also to read the book Hit so hard by Patti Schemel, because she knew him in as a friend

    I toured with Alice in chains and their unplugged was so similar to what this guy shares about Iran's unplugged. Ours had a band rehearsal that was a mess in some ways. What I recall was label and management wanted to record rehearsal at Columbia's studio in Manhattan and when the band noticed cables going out of the room and followed them to a sneaky recording that had the band lose it. I also seem to recall that layne did not rehearse. When they started the show I started crying because they were the incredible band they were at most times with Layne. Why the tears was bringing back fond memories and not expecting such a great performance. We were scheduled for 2 days, I think, and outside of running out of tape and maybe a rough spot, they did themselves the Justice they so deserved. So weird how unplugged was an issue with other bands.

    And Chris is so underrated he had so many cool bass riffs pretty much every single one he played lol but my favorite is love buzz what a cool bass line if you listen to it he does a bunch of really interesting and just plain good bass runs he is all over the fret bord tight playing no Chris no nirvana there is no way kurt could of kept going with out Chris

    Why not drop 500k pots in when he swapped out single coils pickups for humbuckers? Unless you suck at soldering, it’s easy!

    • @bigmuffexpress
      @bigmuffexpress 3 роки тому +4

      It was expected that Kurt would smash them, so they didn't bother swapping them over. Soldering is easy and replacing pots is easy, but you're looking at a time consuming and fiddly process (for 4 mustangs too) for something that may not even last a few weeks.
