When you pick the wrong detailer on your Porsche… machine polishing and ceramic coating!!

- This is typically what you will find when an inexperienced ‘detailer’ or someone who doesn’t care or someone doing work for silly cheap prices works on your vehicle, buffer trails everywhere, swirl marks, ceramic high spots this one had the lot, Not anymore now I’ve seen to her!

This Porsche looks miles better now the jobs been done properly, including a reasonably good result from the wrapping of the arches, which I don’t pretend to be a professional at, considering they were covered in stone chips and poor effort chip repairs they came out ok! What do you think of them? Colour wasn’t my choice I’d have opted for gloss but the customer provided them himself..

so happy to find another great detailing channel to watch from now on, keep up the great work!
@@starrfpv8437 haha thank you! Plenty to come from me that’s for sure! Glad to have you!
Great job there and useful info. I think the wrap protectors actually work quite well, so for a workhorse Porker they’re probably a good idea (vs simply a weekend car).
@@willardr100 thanks mate 👍 I would agree, a relatively cheap option for hiding stone chips and adding some protection, I’d have preferred colour matched but this is what the customer ordered and wanted to I installed them 💪🏼 a valid point you’ve made about a workhorse vs weekend vehicle indeed
Great channel mate. I’ll have to get you to come sort my m340i again. Keep up the good work.
What a difference! Loving your work. I’d never considered ceramic coating a vehicle outside before but I am going to look into to it now. I guess so long as it cures in a garage for 24h it will be fine. Great video 👍🏼
Thank you! A few years ago you’d have been correct, however nowadays new technology has meant that coatings can now cure outside and within 1 hour too, I use infinity wax ceramic coatings, lite & 2 can cure in less than an hour and be applicated outside providing it’s more than 5 degrees, less than 25 degrees and not raining during install and curation time 👍
@@DayOneDetailing That’s brilliant, thank you! Will go check them out.👍🏼
@@basher1285 if you order anything from them feel free to ask me any questions beforehand, use code DayOne at the checkout will save you some pennies too
@@DayOneDetailing that’s brilliant, thank you. Subscribed🙌🏼
very nice work
@@frodev728 thank you! Plenty more where that came from! You should see the next 2 uploads, the 50/50’s from the next ones make this look like child’s play!
What a cracking job you achieved there. Thanks for sharing 👍
@@FK-zr9fn thank you! More than welcome plenty more where that came from! You’ll love the next one!
What a great turn around car looks amazing
How every car should look on the road let alone a lovely Porsche like this 💪🏼 thanks matey
Well done, I wouldn’t have paid for the previous work, shocking and so evident 😢
Lovely job, must have added plenty value to the car
Thank you! That’s what we do 😎
You did a cracking job on that, looked great. Need that on my 20yr Porsche 🙂
Thanks bud! Where are you based? I’d love to help you!
@@DayOneDetailing Leicestershire, I bit of a trek.
@@DansFlatSix I travel the UK for the right jobs mate, I love it!
Great job. A lot of hard work when into that result. Well done, DO D.
@@matthewsims4777 thanks buddy, a hell of a lot of hard work but was extremely worth it! Thanks for your comment 💪🏼👊🏼
New to your channel buddy but loving the content, wow like night & day fantastic job, dont mind the wheel arch protection either🫡
Thanks for the compliments! Nice to have you! It’s gonna be marmite I think those guards, the perfect solution is to get them resprayed/smart repaired or colour coded wrap imo but this is what the customer wanted, they did grow on me too… I’d say they’re smarter looking than all the stonechips though that’s for sure
Great work deserves compliments & defo better than stone chips👍🏻
👌 👏 wow! Great job!
Thank you! 💪🏼
Thank you!
You got the paint colour to pop. Not convinced by the wheel arch wrap which looks cheap and dull against the now shiny paintwork.
I wasn’t sure on the arch wraps either, it did grow on me by the end of the day though and was the customers choice of solution to his pebble dashed arches, certainly much cheaper than painting them and certainly not to everyone’s taste, he liked them though which is most important thing I guess and they did grow on me the more I worked on it through the day, I’m not sure if colour coded wrap would be best or to go ahead and actually break it up like these do, would need a side by side comparison I think, what would your take be?
@@DayOneDetailing who had messed it up in the first place? Was it DIY polishing?
@@Camrocok unfortunately I cannot say for certain, I know the owner does a bit of this and that himself but I’m also aware another ‘detailer’ has been around it before but I’m also aware that dealerships love a wolverine machine polish job too… customers will only ever tell you x amount sometimes so it’s one of them things, I’m just there to fix it whilst making my assumptions ☺️
@@DayOneDetailing keeps you in work :)
@@Camrocok sure does :) and gives me plenty to film for your entertainment too 😁
Great Job! One thing about that hit me during your video (first time on the channel) is that you sound like the British version of Snoop Dogg!
@@alexander3536 thank you! Can’t say I can hear that unfortunately but I’m glad it’s tickled you in some way 😅👍
Why would you add a cheap matt finish vinyl wrap to the rear wheel arches ? Looks nasty.
@@lesleysmith5623 that’s what the customer ordered and wanted for it… I didn’t like them at first either but as I’ve said previously they did grow on me through the day - what would your choice have been if you weren’t gonna get them repainted? Colour coded ppf? Colour coded wrap? Or just respray them?
Lost me at the drill brush on the soft top.
@@Cloud-yp4eh why’s that then? Its not a stiff brush it’s relatively soft and curved allowing me to stay away from the edges which you’d want it to avoid, have used this method on probably 50-100 vehicles over the course of 6 years and results have always been flawless… well used method by professionals like myself for years now 😅
PPF might have looked better but then so would the owner if she didn’t smoke! Great job though.
@@howardgregory3888 in some ways I can agree but then ppf also makes stonechips look much worse and even though there are some bubbles in the wrap because of poorly repaired stonechips I think it would look more obvious with the ppf… tit for tat really ain’t it, I think they’d have been better in gloss for sure
@@howardgregory3888 thanks bud
Hey, great work and fab video. Good luck with the channel and subs. PS. If your ever in the Chester area! 🙂
@@kbdocherty6515 thank you! Really appreciate it! I’m sure I will be at some point, been round most of the UK now 😁
