Adam that final story about your father. Wow. Great job! Well acted. The stunned silence of everyone was proof. And what a perfect dramatic response from Marlon with "I'll follow you". But an even more perfect tension breaker from Bric with "He will, he really will. He's good at it". Excellent all.
I for one can't wait for this goofy ass found family to heal the shit out of this trauma boy. Also, I am so here for Victor and Rory's budding mentor/apprentice relationship. Yay for Rory finally getting some recognition!
Lol at Bar'b, "Should we split up?" and Victor IMMEDIATELY and firmly, "NO!" All I could hear in my head was all the times that Adam has said in other videos, "Do NOT split the party. You NEVER split the party!"
Well-played by all, Adam you really shined in that final part. You inhabited the character fully, very impressive. That is the magic of ttrpg's. I always introduce it as improv with dice rolling to people unfamiliar with it. You all understand the first rule of gaming, have fun! Already watching the next episode.
I was expecting an tragic backstory for Victor but damn! I was not prepared for that emotional gut punch! Seeing Adam holding back the tears and trying to maintain the façade of a the strong stalwart warrior his dad wanted him to be gave me CHILLS. I love how it balances out the tone of the party. Characters with baggage can sometimes seem like a stick in the mud, but this didn't feel like Victor was dragging the party down. Instead he was grounding them in the reality of what they're up against. Which is a subtle but important difference and it worked wonderfully!
Ffs, five minutes into the second session and already Amanda's trying to split the party 😂 This is the kind of anxiety-inducing chaos we come for! (And of course, to support Vic & Bric's "Previously View'd" sending-stone-based artifact review program.) I'm going to headcanon that, because this is fantasy, Rayne's Forest Cafe is delicious. Unlike Rainforest Cafe in real life, which serves only disgusting imitations of food 😅 Oh... my... waterboarding 😂Have I ever mentioned that in a cast of 7 great entertainers, Amanda stands out? ❤ ...and then the serious Victor backstory. Holy crap. Alright, I revise my previous statement. Amanda stands out for comedy, but apparently Adam stands out for drama? Who knew?!
This episode was so good! 😂 Victor clanging, 😂 marlon peepin, 😂 marlon & bar’b water boarding, and then plot twist…..victor backstory! And then David’s inevitable betrayal with that cliffhanger! Can’t wait til next week!!!!!!
Wow. Great episode. Barbarian 'twins' causing hilarious chaos as always 🙂. I was not expecting that Victor backstory bomb drop, especially considering how closed-off & secretive he's been acting...but apparently that caginess is the thing that Marlon just can't overlook and being a sneaky monk of course comes in handy when trying to figure out what dodgy (but unstealthy) folks are up to 🙂... Very surprising that Victor came clean about so much all at once...not gonna say 'out of character' since we don't know him well enough to judge that...guess that 'Z' symbol really shook him way too much. Adam did brilliantly in that scene. Can't wait to see what sea monster's gonna ambush The Bold Mallard in the next one...
Wow, Adam's being pretty intense in the RP. I love it. Edit: XD... Hearing Adam going "There are people with such dark intent... such dark hearts." while I'm playing sea of thieves trying to catch a little pig in a crate has me in hysterics for some reason.
Well definitely to an amazing start serms the Z knights are going to be the team's main threat on this mission hopefully they survive and we get to learn more about the arcfire
Gotta admit I’ve never been good at these types of games, so I came over just to support Cha Boyz (😂). But I’m really getting into this story!! Way to go y’all
Have been feeling excited every week for a new episode with you all ever since you guys first announced this. You all so fun. Whatever you do don’t go to Lane Bryant! Hahaha so stupid but so funny. Victor feels like he’s too much a lone wolf vibe and too secretive. Man I love Dungeons and Dragons!!! Character roasting is always fun. And making fun of names just to torture the DM. Quite a reveal of Victor’s backstory. Looking forward for how his story is gonna be.
Going off something I know from the Vox Machina reactions, these Knights sound familiar. I'm just saying, super saying, it rings a ball. I mean, rings a bell. I just hope it doesn't drag on from multiple episodes until the confrontation final happens. Go on, tell me I'm wrong.
I am already very attached to these characters and really hope you all remembered to grab healing potions before leaving, a party with no healers is so nerve racking as a viewer! Please kill things quickly and keep each other safe!
Well, heck! We all like to watch! This show that is... why? What were *you* thinking... ? Also, if "waterboarding" has 2 meanings, does that mean you need to say it 50 times before you own it?
So I'm re-watching cha' boyz' Vox Machina S1 reactions, and you guys talked about your own DnD campaign back then ... and Bric the sorcerer, Todd the barbarian, and Victor and his green-flame blade were all mentioned. Were you already filming yourself back then, in jan 2022? Or are you revisiting your favorite characters for this campaign? Please tell me at least the plot and villains are different, or else I'm going to accuse you of using training wheels! (lol)
Well, that campaign came to an abrupt end when our DM moved, and we realized we loved our characters and didn’t want them to go, so the best way to describe it is that these are “variants” of our characters. Different universe, different circumstances, but the heart of the person still the same.
@@BonusActionRPG Haha, I did the same thing with one of my one-shot clerics. Tried him in another campaign, only for it to fall apart after 2 sessions. I still might try again!
I love the story and content, but the sheer frequency of the DM saying "uhhh..." really breaks immersion and makes it difficult for me to continue watching the series.

The moment Todd said "Don't go into Lane Bryant, that's not a store for you!" I whispered to myself, "Lane Triton. That's for plus-sized mermaids."
Amazing performance, Adam. Wow.

Just have to say I absolutely LOVE the theme song. So very much. Also Scuttle sounds like Keanu Reeves and Bill Paxton had a baby.
I like how everyone else is playing a goofy game and Adam is playing an Edge Lord.

"Don't you know, you never split the party!"
Adam would do well in a more serious adventure (ie: grim-dark)
Adam is SO. INTENSE. 🤣❤
I love that Scuttle is basically Michelangelo if he went to Ridgemont High.

Did not expect to get emotional in episode two!

Clang, clang, clang went the Victor! Ding, ding, ding, chicken broc! 😂🍗🥦

The plot has thickened! Another great episode!
We need a counter for how many life-changing/existential crisis encounters the party causes.
Today i learned that the past tense of steak is stuck.
Marlon MVP this episode 😂👏

Victor's the Percy of the group right now and I'm here for it.
💯
Best thing to get for my birthday! So fun!

I'm living for Rory and his slushy in the corner. And those Z people better get what's coming to them, putting a 10 year old through all that trauma 😤

It shant be any other way
I like to think Victor can’t hear the clanging of his sword ever

Way to go guys! I'm starting to see why Jay loves this show so much. 🥲
