Airline Bans Couple After Recliner Seat Row Mid-Flight

A couple have been banned from flying with Cathay Pacific after a mid-flight furore erupted after the passenger in front of them reclined her seat.

The reclining seat was just a catalyst for the disruption. The main issue is the cultural problem that continues to exist even now that Hong Kong has been more fully returned to China. There has been problems between the mainlanders and Hong Kong locals for years and that continues today.

If every airline got rid of just one row, there would be so much room in economy, but it’s all about money and airlines want as many people squeezed in. Recline or not to recline, that is the question.

Singapore Airlines have a rule. No reclining until is time is everyone's sleep time. Seems to work well

All laughable, bunch of average sized people so worried about their space, try being 6’8” like me. Yet I never recline my seat cuz I know how annoying it is.

If it was not ok to recline , the company will not make recliner seats . It s logic .

The solution is simple. Put fewer seats in aeroplanes and charge higher prices! Equals more space between rows and increased comfort. Flying is not for the poor, it's a luxury 💰👍

Don’t like reclining seats get business class or don’t fly simple. If there is a reclining button for a seat it ain’t illegal. Cry me a river all the people who whinge about it

I never recline my seat. I don’t mind someone reclining in front of me as long as they are not in my lap

The aircraft manufacturers could solve this by putting seats in planes that do not recline. Problem solved.
