We have a Sport just like the one in this evaluation and we love it. Made two trips of over 1000 miles each way and it did great. Daily dring is great also. In this price range it's a really good vehicle.
We have a '24 Sport that my wife uses. This is a great car-comfortable and feels very stable on the road. It appears to be made very well. Just a bit underpowered for my taste but it's my wife's car and she has no complaints.. My only complaint I wish it had a center cup holder for rear passengers, but this is trivial. Oh! and it should've came with power seats, they are manual. Great vehicle otherwise.
This is what I plan to get in FWD and Urban Grey Pearl, the optional black exterior emblems that should be included on the Sport trim, plus the ootionsl grey lower front and rear lower bumper guard pueses that will make it look even more rugged. Upgraded features like the Bose stereo, leather seats snd itger bells and whistles from the Civic Sport Touring trim eould be nice, but this is fine as is, even though Hinda mention a refresh for bext year, probably available at the end of this year that might just have a Sport Touring trim and the hybrid drivetrain.
I have a 2020 HRV Sport and it's a pretty decent vehicle. The engine is underpowered and even though they upgraded to the Civic engine in the new model it's still underpowered compared to the competition. Also, it gets poor fuel economy in my opinion unless you do lots of steady speed highway cruising.
It’s too underpowered for its size! The HRV desperately needs Hondas new hybrid system! The European version is so much better looking too! The North American version looks mis proportioned.
Honda needs to offer an HR-V hybrid. They sell one in other parts of the world.$30,000 for this car is overpriced. Honda should also keep selling the Fit in the US.
UPDATE: BUYER BEWARE!!! HONDA HAS ISSUED AN EPS RECALL NOTICE. HONDA HAS ISSUED AN EPS RECALL NOTICE. And there are no parts available for the repair at this time. Until Honda Motor Co and all Honda dealerships fix this potentially dangerous Electronic Powersteering System issue, look elsewhere or negotiate the price accordingly. I purchased my HRV in September 2024, and the repair will not happen until mid January 2025.
To add on to this. This only applies to cars built before August 30th, 2024. Cars built on August 30th and later are fine and not included in the recall. Double check to make sure it was built after this date.
@JemilaFluker I have the official Honda EPS recall notice for my 2024-2025 HRV, purchased in September 2024, and she is scheduled for repair in mid-January 2025. The dealership should have been transparent about this known issue. In addition, Honda Civics also was recalled for this EPS problem, and there is a standing class-action lawsuit against Honda Motor Co.
It's pretty much across the board for almost all compact and subcompact cars and SUVs to have CVT transmissions, with a few possible exceptions. Everything else with conventional automatics will be bigger and more expensive. The CVTs are generally cheaper to build and have better MPGs, and that's why they have them.
I purchased a 2025 HRV Sport in July 2024. Absolutely love it.

love mine 25
Looking forward to seeing the new ADX with a little more power and few more features. Heard it’s going to be based on this HR-V but with 1.5L turbo.

great video!!
I test-drove the Honda 2025 HRV EXL The front seats are extremely uncomfortable and hard as a rock...
the sport is very comfortable thats what I'm getting :)

Agreed. I traded mine in for Mazda CX-50. Don't regret my decision at all. The power difference is astronomical.
I have the exl I love it. Better upgrade from having a hrv 2022 way better
I just got the 2025 hrv exl for 29k out the door
FWD?
Sports cars do not have 158HP
-158HP
-CVT transmission
-30 Grand
HARD PASS!
I got a white one 2025
Got rid of my 24 HRV Sport for the Mazda CX50. I’m so glad I did. The CX50 puts the HRV to shame. Hands down. Very happy I made the switch.
Cx50 is not apples to apples comparison

Stop buying cars with cvt transmissions
