I dont believe these side cameras are more practical than real mirrors...
less wind noise is all i can think of. Maybe could get nightvision implemented as well. Right now just an expensive gimmick at most

You have to do the noice yourself when you drive this car.
Those wing cameras just spoil the look of the car! Bring back the normal mirrors, nothing wrong with them and they are cheaper to replace if someone side swipes you which is very common.
You get normal mirrors as standard equipment. Saves you roughly 1.500 bucks as well 😉
408 hp and 0-100 near 6 seg is a bit slow

@@stinger15au well, the audi a6 3.0 tdi 313 hp does the 0-100 in 5 segs and it weights 1900 kg.
Tesla are from 430 to 600hp with a better pénétration in air ratio and between 2100 and 2300kg , that audi weight is 2600kg and it has a little bit less than 400hp
Bet they limit the initial current draw from the battery to protect its life span or something.
Audi hasn't figured out the cooling system for their Lithium battery... So software limits maximum draw at launch or acceleration. To keep batteries from over heating.

Yeah. It's not especially fast for an EV; clearly nowhere near the Tesla range.
They software locked it to protect the battery... unlike Tesla it doesn't need to "recharge" the launch because as I said they capped it to not make the battery overheat.. But true, I like the tesla one a bit more I guess.
Who cares? 6~7 sec for SUV is more than enough. You never use it, so pointless. It's the build quality that makes the Audi stand out.
It's a heavy ass car. That said, it's not very sporty. It has decent power to weight ratio

I mean realistically people who buy suvs and crossovers don't buy them for big power and speed. Audi's interior and quality is much higher than anything from Tesla

Yeah, I hate that we will be forced into buying ev's. I love the sound of a petrol engine, supercharger, turbo and the feel a normal car has. But I wouldn't mind having one super luxury ev for when I feel for it.
Drove my brothers slow as fuck Ford (manual) yesterday and I almost raced that harder than my Golf R (auto) :p

I can't believe we live in an age where this is possible. 10 years ago the though of EV's on our roads was a thought so abstract is was almost unimaginable for me.
Only 204 miles EPA, really disappointing.
Tesla for technology (in EV). Audi for sound dampening (the quietest of them all).
Even Tesla from 2012 is faster with *much* more range... Pity that "old" companies are so behind in EV tech.

Man I called it! Side mirrors being replaced by cameras and screens!! Can’t believe it happened so fast as is implemented in a production car. I don’t think they’re beneficial unless they have night vision capabilities

Most cameras have a little bit of lag, no matter how expensive they are. So, keeping that in mind, isn't that a little dangerous to replace mirrors with cameras?
Input lag in these is 1 ms and your reaction time is 300 ms so it really doesnt matter at all.

Why didn’t they put the mirrors screens left and right to the wheel? Left one in left a/c place, and right one in left half of middle a/c vent. That way you don’t need to turn your head and it’s even safer. Just put a/c vents other places.

I can easily see Audi become one of the staples in the EV game once they figure out how to match Tesla in range and performance departments. Design-wise I’d take this over a Model X if they matched in those said areas.
Build quality seems excellent too !
Audi is producing perfect German premium car quality and Tesla is still a fucking rookie in the industry, which can't keep up with German quality. The Germans have a lot of experience in building premium cars, but Tesla is still making absolutely bullshit quality in its Model S and X.
Also Teslas halfaken battery system in Model S and X is still overheating very easily, when you drive it really fast, like on a German Autobahn. Audi and PORSCHE will bring a new type of battery in their EVs, which doesn't have such problems at all! And that's only the beginning... Just wait and see what will happen with Tesla when all the other big boys in the car industry are coming hard with one EV after another!
VW alone is currently investing more than 50 billion Euros in its new EVs for the next five years... The same goes for Audi, PORSCHE, BMW, Mercedes-Benz...
At the end of 2019 Porsche will show with its new fully-electric Taycan, that it will be very difficult for Tesla to keeping up with a real EV sportscar for four persons like the Taycan, and that Tesla now has really hard competition from the best carmaker in the world!
Compared to fucking awfully built Teslas, premium customers will finally see how a first class quality EV from PORSCHE looks and drives like! And the Taycan will be fucking awesome! All of PORSCHEs EV development engineers say that it drives absolutely phantastic, like no other big four door PORSCHE before they have built so far! You can imagine what this means, if the Taycan is even more dynamic than a Panamera. Everybody who will still pay the same amount of money for a fucking stupid, halfbaken and with only poor American "quality" badly built Tesla Model S as for a PORSCHE Taycan, must be very stupid!

I think it just looks slow because it’s so quiet, if you look at the speedometer it’s actually kinda fast for 2,5 tons.
A old Golf 5 GTI with 200HP gets up to 100 in the same time so it is pretty slow. But as "Audi Rs6" said it's about a ton heavier than a Golf 5 GTI.

At least you don't have to worry about oil leaks and cracking plastics in this VW.Where are the fun, fast, EV coupes? Need something simple and quick instead of these high maintenance SUV sized grocery getters.

Nice but what about acceleration, handling and Autobahn test ? Range ? Its 405 Hp and you were using 50 Hp i was almost asleep by the end of the video....Price should be better than Tesla S and the Audi looks like a proper / real car...
I'll try to answer some of your questions.
Range is 220 miles and its much much lower on highway speeds due to terrible drag coefficient. So honestly you are looking well below 200 miles of real range. 405hp i think it said at the start is 0-100 in about 5.7 seconds.
Price should be about the same as Model X except you get less battery, less range, no supercharger network but a better built interior. Looks are subjective but the Model X looks from the future, this looks like its just yet another SUV from Audi which again, can be the look you're going for which is ok.
@@supaahflyy thanks for that. Yes agree that the Audi is better built and i think the electric cars from mainstream manufacturers will evolve quickly. When the Fluoride Ion batteries are introduced that will be the start of the end of combustion engines....

I have seen a car before wit 1200hp... 5 it's a nice car.

I like the mirror of this car
This thing has 220 mile range which becomes even less on a highway. Tesla just said their Model X can now do 320 mile range and it uses less energy in highway speeds. Audi interior and quality is better but as a electric car its much worse. They have really come up short with this. They are struggling to match a 2012 Tesla in terms of range. Very disappointing.

Why is that that the side mirrors are becoming a camera ? Like what the heck if that's gonna be broken well how could I see at the back without a side mirrors and that's the problem
I like the acceleration that EVs offer, the low center of gravity, extra storage, lack of oil, & less moving parts which should make them more reliable. Unfortunately EVs & most new cars are being made with complex computer systems and cheap plastics. I'm waiting for EVs built with long term durability & easy maintenance in mind. My dream EV would be something like the Tesla Roaster, a coupe, but affordable. I personally don't care at all for touch screens, self driving, SUVs, or tech gimmicks like electric doors.
I would really appreciate it if they would add some kind of sports mode that would add a more aggressive whining noise electric cars make. Of course it wouldn't make up for the sound internal combustion engines produce but it would make them more attractive at least for me.
This car comes with Drive select so it also has a sport mode called „dynamic“ which will also add emulated sport sound.

So, if you see an e-tron, get away as fast as you can. The driver now has to look at and touch not only their smartphone but also all the car controls.
The mirrors placed inside the doors move peripheral vision from the outside to useless inside.
Looking out of the actual windows seems to get optional.
