- Alright Here's the build for the 15" L7, this is a 10yr old $50 sub off ebay but you don't need to have a new sub to smash lows
Box is not a 2:1 ratio it is the result of using winISD and plotting the best box for this sub (within reason), box is 70L sealed and 115L ported tuned at 40hz but peaking around 32hz
Plug idea has worked perfectly and it dosnt leak any air which was the hard way of doing things making the sealed side the removable one, plays very low while maintaining woofer control
This is just a temp set-up running of my crescendo BC3500D

I made my first mistake building a box for a 15 per specs that won't fit in the trunk in my car. Lesson learned. Thats a nice enclosure!!
Did u not measure the depth to go in or did u not measure at all
@@lowlowz2293 trunk has funky angles at entrance. It fit but only with sub and port facing up as that is the smaller side and I don't like that.
I'm always keen to see you build more boxes, not only your skills but the way you talk through all your steps is brilliant, well done.

amazing build man! I had L7 15s (dual 2 ohm) they def do get loud. Ive converted to Sundown Audio but i still respect kickers, a lot of people talk shit on them but they are work horses. I'd love to be able to build boxes
p..s S15L7s like that still cost about 230-250 bucks on Amazon brand new

Nice job! I've had several L7's but never tried that type of box. I wish I could experience it but you are on the othr side of the world... I started with 3 cubic feet sealed, 3.5 ported and 5 ported. The bigger the enclosure the better and louder they will sound. That 24hz made me cringe.. I played low on accident in the 3.5 ported and the sub bottomed out hard! 5 is much safer for lows. The few issues I've had with these, although they sound good in a good box on adequate power, the glue comes undone over time, the SINGLE spider rips.. one spider for all of that money is ridiculous and no recone anywhere. The magnet is beautiful but riveted... definitely a throw away sub for $300 to $500 US dollars. You can buy wayyyyyy better for this price.
+lmadden6236 I had 2 12" Kicker CVX's in a ported box on 1000W amp and had to reglue both surrounds after 2 years on one sub and 3 years on the other, then I got in a car wreck, the impact was on the drivers door but the force of the wreck knocked one of the magnets off on one of the subs (the box wasn't screwed down good but it did not damage the box but the magnet was just glued on on those

sub magnet should be on the ported side for the best sound Js
its all in the ratio you can make bandpass boxes do wat you want them to do sealed side is low end and ported is high side the bigger the ported side the higher the peak..find low fs subs with good power handling

spin it around, port only has 2 inches to breathe, that's screwing things up.

how did you tune the port? is it true you tune the bp box port like you tune ported box port ?
yeah the ported section is tuned as you would a ported box but there's a lot more that needs to be accounted for, I use the program WinISD pro which gives you the dimensions of each camber plus port length etc

shame u put all that great effort into that box for a stupid chinesium sub. Kicker hasn't made mid range subs since 2001. I have a 8" popped L7 from like 1999 down stairs and it took about 30% more wattage to wreck it. Only advice, don't push past the RMS of that sub, DO NOT! You'll cook the coils after 45 sec like my 12 L7 that I had to re glue the surround on...

your stuff is nice mate but i am the master in 4th orders . sealed chamber needs to be half the FS . this gives you higher out put with less watts. its all about finding that Resin Freqacy in the car. less power you need more efficient the system is.

And also play some PANTERA, LED ZEPPELIN METAL MUSIC you white dudes are all whip on c-rap music, im CHICANO in L.A. and all i play is HEAVY FUCKIN METAL or ROCK as loud as it will sound clean and loud because power amps, a good equllilizer and plenty of caps will make any music sound good but do us METAL MONSTERS a solid, and play hard ass music im so tired of crap music and i know bass from crap music BOOM'S like a motherfucker but got damm!!!!
