Very hard to choose in between these two beautiful cars. I recently had a hard time to choose what to purchase. I ended up buying a Sonata and I absolutely love it 🇰🇷😂 ❤️
@@chrislove481 Thats not true my wife has a 2013 sonata with close to 70k miles on it and only thing replaced so far (and just this month) was the alternator
The Sonata is better looking. Honda has proven reliability but Hyundai has certainly stepped up their game. I'd probably get the Sonata for price and warranty.
In my opinion, I like the Sonata better. It’s very comfortable and rides well for its class. And for everyone saying that Hyundai is unreliable, you have probably never owned one. The Accord is a good car but I just like the Sonata better. :)
I am just now replacing my '04 Sonata that I bought new. It's been the best...most reliable, comfortable, smoothest, quiet, lowest maintenance costs...car I've ever driven! Oh, and on snow and ice with standard all-weather tires, she's gone up and down hills that have been blockaded, with ease. Unfortunately after an accident at her age, she's been totaled. Sad. She's going to be a hard act to follow.
Although I do love the elegant and bold styling of the Honda Accord, I found myself preferring the Hyundai Sonata. Although I'm not a huge fan of sport models, I did like the amazing wheels, and the LED lights throughout the Accord. I just liked the simplicity of the Sonata. Both are great buys tho! Keep the great videos coming!
Hyundai is a great car, depreciation is the killer. If you like drive it until it drops. Had a Hyundai Sonata, before I got my Accord coupe, and the Accord has a better ride.
iTzMark671 telling me to get my head out of my ass huh, maybe it can last as long as a honda but no fucking way it can last longer then a honda dumbass
Kenny Phun the newer Hondas with cvt transmission has reliability issues. Hyundai was ranked higher than honda in reliability and dependability according to JD power. Apparently your head is still inside your ass.
That's a very nice comparison, Laura. However, you should have mentioned price and warranty too. I choose Hyundai because of its a good bet for the price and Hyundai offers a better warranty. Performance wise they both are just parallel to each other. Sonata Interior looks a little cheaper than Accord but I am ok with it. Sonata seems to have higher Ground clearance than Accord.
Love that people are passionate about 4 door generic sedans. I love my sonata but really, I'm not comparing it to others in it's class because they are all boring. Not comparing muscle cars or anything here.
Overall its a good video, but I feel like it would be a better comparison if you guys got the 2017 Hyundai Sonata, either a Sport 2.0T or a Limited 2.0T. Just because the Accord is a Touring trim model.
had both, had an Accord at one time, and now have a Sonata, loved your review, but, on my sport, I do have chrome handles on the doors, and inside, I have dual a/c and rear a/c in the back, being I have had both, I have to give the nod to Hyundai, but look forward to your reviews, you do such a great job
I like the Honda Accord but it’s more expensive then the Sonata. The Toyota Camry is also more expensive then the Hyundai Sonata but from what I hear the Sonata has more interior room then the Camry & a lower price then both competitors. Also the price depends on the level of vehicle trim.
funny thing is that I been looking for comparison videos of Hyundai and Honda. but I worked at Honda and I am a big fan of the Accord but something about the Hyundai I really like that it's big roomie and just sexy looking, sorta has a Mercedes look to it~
The Accord Sport just won Good Housekeeping's Best of 2017 Award so its a proven contender in that segment. How does interior room compare on these two?
Hello Honda Laura, this is Baqer Ali from Saudi Arabia a new follower of you, I love the way you have compared between these nice cars. In my opinion, Sonata has better look and also in every years it has earned a good reputation comparing to other competitors specially in its price. thanks
Looks like the Hyundai Sonata base model when the interior was reviewed. All Hyundai Sonata Sport model comes standard with push to start and they also have Dual-zone automatic climate control . Overall both cars are good and it is all about how much more you are willing to spend. The Honda Accord Sport is more expensive than the Hyundai Sonata Sport because of the brand.
Alanex Knight not for the price, and I mean you're buying peace of mind with Honda's reliability. But Hyundai is destroying Honda with interior quality and options at a way lower price. Honda is slacking on their design aspect you can even tell with their Acura brand. I'd take a Lexus any day over an Acura.
Alex Soto My old 2001 Civic survived and gave up on 200000 miles only time I went to the mechanic was for servicing. The new civic is too high class and expensive and looks like a full size sedan.
It's disappointing that hyundai basically took a step back in the quality of their materials. Compare the old generation sonata materials to the new one and there's a huge difference in quality.
just bought a 2015 Sonata sport (same body style) and I love it. I got if for 15k with 16 thousand on the odometer. (invoice was 29 new) decently loses value quicker but after doing my research they seem to be fairly reliable. P.S mine had dual climate control, so you can get it in that trim
Great job on the comparison! My favorites quotes are when it came to the Sonata: "I'm not a huge fan of back seats" and when it came to the Honda: "For a CVT". I'll take the Accord Sport (in black but would love blue) and the 6 speed manual please.
I own a 2017 2.0T Sonata and love it for the price point(6k rebate). However, If I could staight trade for the Honda I would for the nicer interior and better resale. The maintainace on the CVT would be my only real gripe with the Honda.
Which car hold its value more? I'm trying to buy either a 2017 Hyundai Sonata limited 2.0t or a 2017 Honda Accord (idk which trim level since idk any thing about Honda)
I like the design of Honda Accord. But in Korea, Honda Accord is quite expensive. It's almost expensive as Hyundai Grandeur (heard that it is called Azera outside of Korea).
Accord ftw. There's a reason why it's been the best mid size sedan for the last 20 years. Hyundai have the worst reliability after Kia. That's why they have a longer warranty lmao
The presenter may need something like a teleprompter or someone standing beside the cameraman with certain keywords/car features written on a card, to improve her flow during presentation. After a while, she will master the art of recollecting these words without help. Just an opinion, not meant to demean the good video and work she has put in this.
Hyundai does make some nice styled cars. But for the heck of it I asked my long time oriental mechanic about his experiences with Hyundai and Kia compared to Honda and Toyota over the long run. He said, "Nope. Korean cars no good. No buy them."
Y'all say that Hyundai looks better but I guarantee you it will not last you as long as that Honda Accord. You can drive that Honda till the dam doors fall off lol! Honda is way more reliable hands down. My 2007 Honda Civic Coup has 300K miles and is still pushin strong baby😎
Owned both cars, Honda is a better vehicle for the long term, parts and features last longer. Sonata is a better value in the beginning but doesn't hold up well.
Outstanding job comparing the 2 cars of course my opinion I would go for Honda. Me personally wouldn't get the 4 cylinder, I got the v6 touring because of power wise and there is not a lot of difference in gas mileage.
I want to see Civic SI and the Type R so bad lol but not shore if I missed it on your other videos but would like to see the Civic Hatch sport 6 speed !!
I enjoy your reviews, Laura, but please stop slamming the doors and trunk lid, I know that (especially with the Honda) the fit is so precise and well made that very little effort is needed to close. Thank you
The Honda sport takes my vote due to overall reliability and known to last. The sonata is okay but as mentioned its value seems to be a problem over driven miles and years.

Congrats on your Sonata and thanks for chiming in! - Laura
I love my Sonata sport.
Its really hard to beat that Hyundai Warranty though.
Because it's junk you need a hundred thousand mile warranty the drivetrain will go out around 30,000 miles
@@chrislove481 Thats not true my wife has a 2013 sonata with close to 70k miles on it and only thing replaced so far (and just this month) was the alternator
@@chrislove481 as far as I know. Honda cvt only lasts around 100,000 mileage. You wonder why...
My 17 Accord sport came with lifetime warranty lol
Tanji i sold my '13 Accord Sport with 108,000 trouble free miles. Moved into a V6 Coupe. Now, THAT is sporty.
The Sonata is better looking. Honda has proven reliability but Hyundai has certainly stepped up their game.
I'd probably get the Sonata for price and warranty.

Just got the 2017 sonata limited 2.0.......it is fun to drive..great features...I LOVE it!!!!

Overall its a good video, but I feel like it would be a better comparison if you guys got the 2017 Hyundai Sonata, either a Sport 2.0T or a Limited 2.0T. Just because the Accord is a Touring trim model.
The accord is actually a sport model not a touring. - HL
I would rather have the Hyundai. I used to like Honda but their quality and customer service has really gone downhill.
