Thanks for this video Nicole. Every company is looking for people with experience. What internship opportunities can one leverage on?
Because of this video you just got a new follower. Loved the way you explain things. I'll keep watching your videos.
Didn’t even finish the vid, this is the first person to actually explain what an entry cloud position would. I’m about a month away from testing and really appreciate this so I can target my job search after.
Been waiting for this one!!
I needed this . I just realized I've been doing entry level cloud task for a while.😊
Hope you enjoy it!
thank you for the video nicole . i am in dilemma actually to choose between cloud or cybersecurity. I am 19 years old now and am starting to think my path to choose as i wanna pursue my degree in between those two. and as a result i think i wanna continue my study in cloud . Thank you ! you helped me a lot
Planning on joining Comptia for cybersecurity next month
I will start school in a few days. I was cut between cybersec and cloud. I'm happy to hear Cloud pays well as that was my choice. Great info! Thank you.
How’s it going ?
@youngchapo3513 It's going good so far. I am told to start working on my certs. I want to start soon, but between work and school, I am being lame. That subnets is no joke. Thank you for checking in.
@@cw9533 Where are you at now? There's a cohort starting near me and I'm a bit hesitate on starting.
@@cw9533 in the same boat but I’m don’t know anything about it. Any tips about trying to know about the cloud
Thank you for this!
Excellent video. Ive been in technical project management for a long time now and looking to try something different and something more skill/knowledge based. Your video really helped me to decide that next step.
Great video; I can't wait for the courses link!
Thanks!
Finally, someone is making a very informative videos about this topic
Glad it was helpful!
Nicole great video ! I'm new to IT and i want to go the cloud security route. Which classes/certs and in what order should i take ?
Definitely looking to get into Cloud :)
The salaries here are interesting. I graduated with an associates In network and administration, I got my first it helpdesk role with a pay of 10$ an hour in 2013
Oh wow. Location/Company plays a large part
Thanks for the Spanish subtitles Nicole so I can share with my business administration degree friends 😘
THANKS for sharing .
i will be forever grateful to you
You are super with your explanation very simple and direct thanks for the video
You are welcome
HELP! I watched your videos and I’m trying to build a roadmap to cloud computing. I have no experience in IT and I’m wondering which certs are necessary and which are fluff for my journey. So far it seems I will need an OS cert like Linux +, then basic coding skills like a Python cert then fundamentals like a CompTIA networking cert, and cloud essentials cert. My question is what’s necessary in your opinion? Do I need the CompTIA A+, Network +, Security +, Project +, Cloud+, Cloud Essentals, then cloud +, then cloud practitioner and move up the associates to pro to specialist ladder? Or is this too much? I’m trying to minimize time and money while also building the needed skill set to be as successful and competitive as possible! What do you suggest?
Thank you so much for this video, I work in the library in Ghana-Africa but I want to branch into Cloud computing and hopefully work remotely. @Nicole Enesse.
Thanks Saah! Glad it was inspirational
Hey Nicole, great Content again, but what do you recommend to someone who start today without time due to kids family and other work and so so....🤔
Talk about moving between fields. Like IT to cyber.
Information technology is the use of computers to create, process, store, retrieve, and exchange all kinds of data and information.
Love your vids, im currently finishing up my Google IT cert and then will apply at WGU to complete the cybersecurity bachelors program! Your vids are very informative! I love watching them!

Best of luck! Thanks for the kind words Madison
literally thinking of doing this same thing
Where is the link?
Cybersecurity degrees are a waste of money
Your videos are super helpful I appreciate what you do Thanks! Also I don’t see the link for your free boot camp
Thank you!!! Oh Snap, thanks for letting me know
if you have obtained the Security + cert, is it hard to gain an entry level systems admin job?
I love soc analyst but i will go for cloud.thanks
Thank you for the roadmap, Nicole! I am following the GRC recommendations via Coursera and Gerald's master class. As someone only interested in the Sec+, do you think it would be a mistake to skip both A+ and Net+?
A+ is a waste. Net+ has some good stuff just you get base networking knowledge
where can we find that link for the BootCamp? @Nicole Enesse
so which one is better ? a career in cloud security azure, or Cybersecurity ? thank you so much
Just passed az-900. Gonna do az-104 and az-500 and look for cloud and security jobs since I have sec+ already
how is that going?
I wanna know too frfr 😊
Pretty please
What's the update sir did u end up doing az500 and land a job?
@@osmansidd3762 I ended up enrolling in wgu. Working a support position for a hospital currently. Didn't end up doing az 104 or 500 lol. Ive been picking up all the certs offered by wgu so those 2 weren't as much of a priority. Security is a very hard field to get into lol. But im getting closer and more experience each day
Hey! I’m currently majoring in an unrelated field (graphic deaign) and minoring in IT (if I switch majors I’ll be behind and run out of aid) would this ruin my chances of getting a job if I don’t have the right major, but I have certifications? Thanks
Nicole have you seen many people go from security to cloud architect or vice versa much? Are there many common skills?
Just started learning the CompTIA+ 3 days ago .nice video as always
Awesome. David. Thank you. Let me know how it goes
Hello what are you using to study? The CompTIA A+ book, UA-cam, etc….
@@xoxorianaa1860 yes that's the one
I wanna go after soc analyst but I wanna go after cloud what’s the one job you recommend getting first and what are the certifications u recommend that kind of go together for cloud and Soc or where I should start studying first thank you
im going for my associates in cloud computing
awesome kindly mentor me on this part.
Started my journey to work in IT with cloud. I have AWS CP cert and started on the SAA course to do the test but I stopped bc I’m thinking cybersecurity may be easier to get my foot in the door without the degree and just certs. I’m really confused. Not sure if I should keep trying cloud or return to it later and start with cyber as the jobs I see on indeed don’t require so much experience.
I’m in the same thought but the opposite I wanna switch to cloud because security seems more difficult to get into. What did you end up doing??
I'm currently working as senior soc analyst having 3+years of experience. I need to go into cloud computing. Wherever I see I can able to see only the entry level position for cloud. I need to go further combining both my security knowledge and cloud. What skills needed and where to start for cloud. As I already know basics in AWS cloud.
You don't like Soc Analyst? I'm currently in cloud computing right now and thinking about going over to Cybersecurity, which what was I originally wanted to do.
I don’t see the link on how to get started @
Excellent information, Nicole!! 😄😁
Thanks Arnold!!! I appreciate all of your support
Do you need a bachelor's in IT to get into cyber security or is an associate ok?
I have 14 years of experience in Non IT in payroll field..now I want to pursue a career in cyber security or AWS .. but unable to choose one. And what is the scope of i pursue one.
Thanks as always for these videos! Just a quick question. I'm 36 and have been teaching for 14 years. Your videos have inspired me in making the jump to IT (I'm torn between cyber security and data analysis), but I'm afraid I'm too old to switch. After watching your videos, what would be the best starting path to jump in, or am I too late? Thanks!
Absolutely not too old to switch. My employer - a global leader in their field with major presence across North America and Europe - have been employing ‘new entries’ into CyberSec at much greater ages than yours. With 14years in teaching, you could leverage this experience to pursue a Security Education & Awareness role. Enterprise sized companies all resource an Education & Awareness function, leading activity such as mandatory annual Sec Awareness training (typically a regulatory requirement in many industries), security culture baselining and growth, guidance materials, company Intranet presence, developing ‘Cyber Champion’ networks, etc. If too similar and not exciting enough, use it as a foot-in-the-door to build a couple years experience then transition to Security Operations (if you have the technical know how) or GRC (if you don’t).
36 isn’t even old Brother dan!! You are not to late at all. I have known retired people who changed their career into tech. Data Analysis and cybersecurity are both really good paths. It honestly depends on what you like better and can see doing long term
I am currently taking comptia classes with 18-64 year olds. Your never too old Brother dan!
I’m 38 and am about to jump in myself and have had the same question about age. I have a background in architecture but I just don’t see myself doing that for the rest of my life.
I have the same aspirated and goal set in my mind to complete and wanted to ask you with your experience is cloud computing commonly outsourced overseas?
Just go with whatever you want then just pick up the certs you need.
Which one is easier to land a job? And to gain the skills.
@@johnvardy9559 CyS is harder, most of the time they require you to already have some IT/Pen test experience. There are workshops that count as experience. Cloud computing depends on how big the company you are applying for is and if they utilize cloud computing (AWS/Azure/GCP). A generic I.T degree gives you the minimum to get your foot in the door, then work on the other certs depending on your employer. (Sys/network/web/Databse Admin jobs) Easiest job to land are help desk jobs which require no degree but certs are a plus...get it? (A+).😁
Hi good one though rather comparison must be Cybersecurity vs AI ML Tech vs Cloud Computing vs Blockchain, anyways good info
Is there a way to get an entry level job in cloud without doing a degree??
Which is best cloud computing or cyber security
Hello Nicole! Thank you for breaking all of this down. These are three most looked at when it comes to tech. Where is the 'Build Your Own Bootcamp' Link?
Awesome video! I do not have any degrees or certs yet. Just personal experience. Used Windows since I was about 13 (I'm 27 now) and would like to believe I have a decent understanding of how things work. I have good experience with Linux and in all likelihood have a much deeper understanding of it than Windows. Started with Ubuntu, switched to Arch and am now currently running Void.
I understand Firewalls, VPNs etc. The general stuff. Went through a hacking phase when I was a teenager and learned about wifi hacking, brute forcing, phishing, SQL injection and all that jazz but I'm still in the baby stages of knowledge in that area. I've always loved computers and have an absolute BLAST learning more about them so I can confidently say that I have the "drive" or "passion" that's really needed for the career.
Right now I'm pretty solid on working in Cyber Security aand would like to get started ASAP. Any and all recommendations, critiques or opinions are extremely appreciated! Even if I have to start a non cyber security job at first, that's cool with me. Thanks!
2 recommendations: Get Sec+ cert and then harass executives on LinkedIN
is going cloud recommend for someone have non IT background or experience?
Do you offer any type of consultation? Or have an email?
Tech is where it's at!! As somebody who is transitioning out of teaching into IT, I am amazed at just how many jobs there are.

Hi nicole, love your vids. They have helped me learn quite a bit. I was accepted into WGU but I’m having a hard time deciding between the cloud bachelors or the cyber security bachelors. I’m 46 and making a career change from being a respiratory therapist. I have lots of interest in both fields from the learning I’ve done so far. Any advice? Or words of wisdom?

Community College is a great option that people often overlook. I do have a video on this topic coming up within the month
Good luck brother.
Good luck brother
1-10 how hard do you think it would be getting a job in cs with no experience but just a wgu degree?
10, people will get hired with exp over you, even with no degree. Having an internship in ur desired field with a wgu degree? Ur chances will go up
which job do you see more positions being remote, would it be the cloud?
Yes, the cloud
These two paths are great. Which one do you believe is better cybersecurity at SANS Technology Institute or Cloud at WGU?
Hmmm, those are both really good paths. If you don't mind the price go with SANS.
SANS def holds a lot of weight. If your not footing the bill, go with them
@@nicoleenesse Would WGU still hold some weight or be a good option? or is WGU not a good option? What other schools can be used what about SNHU?
I was offered a cloud admin job, but really want to work Cybersecurity. Would you take the role as a Segway? I am currently in Help desk anything is a step up right now.
Yes, cybersecurity is a really broad field and not really a job title. That cloud admin role, might have security tasks....
Sweet
No such thing as best. All pays well. Just depends on your interest and what you are passionate about. A.I is also another new sector booming in IT. There are just too many different career paths that are all lucrative.
Which which field is considered the least stressful?
Hmmm. it really depends. All of these can be stressful at the wrong company
im about to finish my part 2 of comptia a +. is it possible to land a job with just that? i do have a little experience with technology, like bujilding pcs, setting up pc. is it possible to go through cloud with just this?
It is possible to land a job with CompTIA A+ but from your projects, it looks like you were aiming for IT support/helpdesk type of jobs.
@@nicoleenesse yes, i was. thinking that was the starting point. did not know i could go to cloud as entry till now.. what should i do.

I just finished the google It support certification, what do i need to break into the IT field A+ or network+ ? I am really confused
Why do you keep inflecting at the end of every sentence?
Networking is so Rad, how can you not really like Networking?

True, it's a job where you sit on your ass, do no labor, and very few challenges throughout the work year.

Hi im a career changer myself and i would like some enlightenment, im really complicated in terms of choose data analysis which i can absorb SQL powerBI but i literally hate maths and love statistics????
Or cloud architect which their is no maths at all , and has Linux and docker .
I really don't know.
Both are in to data . though , frankly cybersecurity is something that triggers me but it get me bored somehow.
