It’s funny to see you smash the potatoes before mixing the potato salad. My momma taught me to stir the potatoes gently to not break them up because “you aren’t makin mashed potatoes” I always like seeing how different people cook the same traditional recipes differently

@ab22heartsmac - Hey girl! Thank you so much for stopping by and watching this week! LOL, your mama was right, you definitely don't want mashed potatoes! I do prefer mine fairly mashed and creamy though, but that's just personal preference. No need to smash them at all if you don't want to, isn't that the great thing about cooking at home, for you and your family - you can make it fit your taste and have it JUST like you like it! LOL!! Take care, and have a wonderful and truly blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚

Kitchen things always bring back memories. As a kid my mom's hands always smelled good. When I grew up I figured out it was onions and garlic! 😂 She and her sister made Slovak nut rolls every Christmas. So much work but so delicious. After she died, I found the recipe and me and my sister made it. Took all day! Anyway, the smell of the dough is very unique and when I smelled it, I started crying. 😭 Seems so silly but I miss her so much.

@Carol Potts - oh my goodness Carol, that brings tears to my eyes! How wonderful of you and your sister to be able to find the recipe and y'all make her nut rolls! I LOVE that! And I bet the smell and taste of them brought so many memories flooding back. All good ones, I hope! I just love food memories, they are just the best to me. It is NOT silly at all to miss her. I still miss my mama every day and she's been gone over 19 years. Not a day goes by that I don't miss her or my daddy, and it is definitely not silly. Hugs!! ---Stacy 😇💜💖

That cashew chicken looked so good! What a wonderful birthday celebration for Tim’s aunt! My mom made 90 on the 27 of September; instead of the party we planned we had lunch at Cracker Barrel when Lou and I met my sister in law half way from Mississippi to bring mom home from evacuation! ❤️

ALL the kitchen things, aprons, dishes and food remind me of my momma and mamaws 🥰 When Tim mentioned the towel on your shoulder and you said that your grandmother did it I thought of my momma too. I was at a craft fair last year and a lady had what looked like a scarf made from cotton. On each end were kitchen hand towels. She saw me trying to figure it out and explained to me that she always had a towel on her shoulder and she finally started making the scarf and then she had 2 towels at hands reach at all times in the kitchen. I thought she was really smart 😉 and ended up buying one for my mom and she loves it. Thanks for all the great videos and fun 😊

Oh, cornflower Corningware. When I was first living on my own, about a million years ago, I got several pieces using my S & H Green Stamps. I told you it was a million years ago. @Melissa - Hi Melissa!! Thank you so much for stopping by and watching, and for the truly lovely and kind comments! We appreciate it so much!! I do love to cook and try new things, but it gets hard to work in our favorites too, and still try new things (there is just so much cooking I can do and share in a week, only so much food we can eat without going so far overboard, LOL!). Aww, I hope you realize your dream of your first home soon, that sounds wonderful! We built our dream home 7 years ago and it makes me so incredibly happy, especially my kitchen and my screened in porch (where I can sit and read while it's raining, I adore it!). I hope you can try some dishes now and then work on building up a menu of "favorites" or things you like and know how to make. That's how I started when I was learning how to cook. I tried a few things, gained some confidence, and started making a list of things we liked and that I knew how to make :) Enjoy!! Take care, and have a wonderful and truly blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚

Stacy, your stir fry looked wonderful. I haven't made that in quite a while. Must be about due! We have still been in the upper 70's and into the 80's here. Though for you that might be normal, but up here in Wisconsin, it truly isn't!! Crazy weather. I have to say I was so very very happy to see your MIL's sister take that candle off the cake and blow it out without hitting that pretty cake. I hope we all learned a bit over the past year, and blowing candles out over a cake to share with everyone just isn't a good idea any longer. Not only due to Covid, but in cold and flu season as well. I have seen others put candles on a cupcake and hand that to the person to blow out. We really don't need to share our germs with those we love, do we?? Hope you are having a great weekend. Thanks for sharing your meals for the week with us, everything looked sooooo good!!!!

We typically spend Halloween and sometimes Thanksgiving in shorts, but I know you guys are much colder normally by now. I hope you get some more fall-like weather soon (and us too!). Yes, we've learned more about spreading germs in the last 18 months, haven't we? We went to another party back in February for Tim's brother and showed him with his cake - he did what he calls the "covid clap" - he clapped his hand to blow out the one candle we put on his cake, LOL!! @Nancy Osgood - Hi there Nancy! Thank you so much for stopping by and watching again this week! Yes sirree, we have definitely been on a brats kick and they were SO good, but we won't be indulging in them much more. Tim can eat whatever he likes, but I have borderline blood pressure and cholesterol issues, so twice for me is probably two times too many, LOL!! They were good though, and we do enjoy brats a couple of times a year, always in the fall or winter. Oh, I love that you have your mom's dishes and you remember eating off of them, so sweet! You were so lucky to have learned so much from her. My mother was willing, but when she was alive, I was not overly interested in food or cooking (too busy being a career girl or newlywed), so I missed out. I'm so lucky to have Tim's mom, my sister and others who have taught me so much. You are lucky indeed! Take care, and have a wonderful and truly blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚 P.S. My mom has been gone for over 19 years and I still miss her every day. Even if her mind is failing, spend time with her as you can, record things, take pictures and make as many memories as you can. You'll be so glad later on to have had all of that extra time with her :) Ooh, hooray, so glad the easy tortellini dish sounds good to you. That recipe is really ancient, but I love it for its simplicity and ease and it's pretty tasty too!! Hope you get a chance to try it soon, would love to hear if y'all liked it! We are so happy to hear that you are enjoying the video and hopefully getting some ideas for things to fix at your house, and things that your kids will eat! I think it will come as no surprise to you to realize that I was a fairly picky eater as a kid, but don't give up on them, just keep trying stuff! I have, and continue to try new things, as I think our tastes change all of our lives. You're so right, cooking at home allows you to modify things to fit your taste and your kids, and get them to eat things that they might otherwise avoid because of a certain ingredient or flavor. Win-win!! Take care, and have a wonderful and truly blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚

@The Pinterest Failure - Hey girl! Thank you so much for stopping by and watching this week! The tortellini pasta with mushrooms is so ridiculously easy. I had not made it, or even thought about it in years, because there's hardly any cooking involved! LOL! Sometimes though, we all need a quick and easy meal and that one definitely fits the bill. It is pretty tasty too (as long as you get a jar of alfredo that you like the taste of and add a little extra seasoning). I had a George Foreman for years and years and loved that thing!! I "upgraded" to this Cuisinart Griddler I have now, but I really loved my GF. I had a stand alone Belgian waffle maker when I had my GF and even though i have the waffle add-on plates for my Griddler, the Beglian waffle maker made thicker, crispier waffles, and I could do all kinds of easy things with my GF. Including pressing paninis! Take care, and have a wonderful and truly blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚

@JuJu Bi - Hi JuJu!! Thank you so much for stopping by and watching this week! Oh yes, those little crispy green beans are SO good, and we think they are great in our air fryer (obviously not the same as deep fat frying, but we are ok with that, everything in moderation and all of that, LOL!). I do have trouble finding them from time to time, but I think I've found them sporadically at both my Kroger and my local Walmart, in the freezer section with the other Birds Eye products. I have never heard of Habit Grill, but I bet theirs are great (as they likely drop them in the fryer at the restaurant, yum!). Isn't it the differences that brings us all together though?!! If you and your husband were just alike, it would be super boring and you'd never have anything to talk about or laugh about. I've just learned to leave out or substitute what I don't like, where possible. Sometimes that won't work, if there's just a few ingredients (like the mushrooms in the tortellini pasta dish, or we've shared a chicken pasta with artichokes in the past, and got a lot of comments about not liking artichokes, which is fine, but since there's only a handful of ingredients, if you don't use the artichokes, it's really just pasta with sauce, LOL!). Hello my sweet friend!
Chinese food is delicious and one of my favorites. Especially homemade. I really enjoy Trader Joe's Shumai. Have you tried their Orange Chicken? It's pretty good. I have not been to a Trader Joe's in over a year. I think it was in June 2020. I am 1-1/2 hrs away from the nearest one and I am just not ready to make that drive yet. I was hoping to this month but life is so crazy for me right now. Both my husband's truck and my truck both broke down this last week back to back days. It's been interesting to say the least. Lol. Just not in the mood to drive into Houston.
I made egg salad for lunch this past week. Such a yummy lunch.😋
Memories with food, dishes, traditions etc just totally warm my heart.
Bratwurst and sauerkraut have been on my mind this past week. I have everything to make it too but my kids cant stand it. Lol.
Chocolate cake from scratch is so good. The only chocolate cake I have ever made from scratch is the one on the back of the Hersheys Cocoa powder. It was delicious. Buttermilk sounds delicious and I bet it makes a super moist cake.
What a cool family party. So happy you got to see the family, ate wonderful food, and had fun!

That is no fun, and such terrible timing. I know it's likely been so hard to get anywhere with both of your trucks out of commission. I hope that is all squared away soon! The closest Trader Joe's is 3.5 hours from us, so I totally get it! We went once or twice in 2019 and then once earlier this year, and that's it! This was our first time to try the shumai and we liked them! I got Mandarin Orange chicken the first trip or two and we do like it, but then our Sam's Club started selling their brand of orange chicken, which we like just as much (and is only 15 minutes away, LOL!). I hope you guys have a much better week ahead, get some vehicles fixed, eat some yummy food, and maybe have some bratwurst too!!! Take care, and have a wonderful and truly blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚

I've just found your channel, I'm from the UK and I absolutely love your accent. I also love the look of your recipes including the chicken and cashews, I'll be doing that soon!
I'm wondering why you covered your instant pot when releasing the steam, I've done lots of potatoes for potato salad and I've never had any problems with releasing the pressure. I remember doing some pasta in it once, and I used far too much pasta and water!!! THAT was an awful mess 😔 could it be that (since I live on my own and usually, I'm only cooking for myself) that I'm using less potatoes, therefore less water? I'm looking forward to seeing more of your recipes.

To answer your question about the IP (I love that you have one in the UK, are they hard to find over there?), I have just always tossed a towel over it, from the very first recipe we tried (chicken with noodles). Anything starchy like pasta or rice or potatoes seems to spew out a horrid mess and I would just much rather wash the dish towel than clean up the mess on my island in my kitchen. Some things do not make a mess at all, but it's just easier to be safe rather than sorry :) Thanks again for commenting, and we definitely look forward to hearing more from you in the future. @Sandy Aviles - thank you so much Sandy!! If you are looking for anything in particular, please let me know and I'm happy to try to help you find some ideas. We do link a lot of the products we use in our Amazon store, but that wok is just not something I have been able to find (and we do get a lot of questions about it!! LOL!). Take care, and have a wonderful and truly blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚

@April Townsend - Hey April! Thank you so much for stopping by this week and watching! Oops, best call the Potato Salad police on me, haha! My mother-in-law taught me to make potato salad, and she never mentioned onion, so that's not something I add, LOL! We love it this way, but like most any dish, it can totally be made to fit your taste. Another one of the things I love so about cooking at home, you can totally adapt things to fit yours and your family's tastes :) Take care, and have a wonderful and truly blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚

@Amy Kim - Hi Amy, and welcome! Thank you so much for stopping by our channel, and for taking the time to watch and leave us a comment. We are so glad you are here, and we hope that you will enjoy the content on our channel. 💖💜 LOL, that was one super-duper, GIANT chicken breast, so plenty for the two of us. Even though I try to buy organic chicken, that one looked like it was on steroids, haha. I would like to say I have tiny hands, but who knows.... they aren't huge, maybe?! LOL!! Take care, and have a wonderful and truly blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚
