As someone who started in film way back when it was film, and cameras had to be 'blimped' so you could shoot with sound... The game has changed so many times, I've lost track. Embrace the change and always be at the forefront.
I'm a small business owner that has nothing do with the film industry. I have a friend thats a successful photographer that can edit. Would this be a stupid industry to try to break into?
Yeah, man. This thing looks amazing. "There's a touch to it". This has always been my complaint about the consumer grade drones. They just don't have a good feel. Super jealous!
@@bartofilms the microphone would be near the shot being recorded and not from the drone itself. If the sound of the drone does get picked up they can isolate it and remove it.
It’s so, so, so TRUE this statement. Adapt or die. Too many people hold onto the past because of their fear of change making them redundant. Technology & change has opened so many possibilities for future film makers now it’s impossible to say it’s a unionised profession that is ELITE. Just like photography in 2000 when digital changed everything. What was once an elitist form of expression / profession - so has filming in a digital world now become available to a globe of expressive creators. Embrace the change & showcase your finest abilities. NOW IS THE TIME to do so.
Wow this is a really amazing highly technical advancement for the camera drone industry. But only for the truly experienced professionals who knows all the aspects of a machine such as this. Years of experience is required for a flying camera system like this. When needed, I’ll call you for that work.
If you don’t need interchangeable lenses and all the other great Inspire features, Keyframe on Skydio can do the same barn shot. Except it’s 1/15th the price. Would love to show you.
It's funny - I've used RTK in our stills work for years and it was a total game changer. I actually bailed up a DJI rep at the launch for another drone about 18 months ago and said whatever they are cooking with the I3 they should give it RTK'...said it as a half joke really as DJI seem to keep the 'film' gear and features separate from 'industrial' gear and features. I nearly fell off my chair when I saw the I3 had RTK. I'm pumped and can't wait for ours to arrive here in Oz, seemingly the last place on the planet to receive any new DJI release!!!! haha
Not everyday someone can just drop 16k on a Drone. Although I get to fly a Lockheed Martin Indago 3 at work, which cost like 100k for the two unit setup they have. as a kit.
DJI are just constantly lifting their game. Very impressive. Once they all move to toroidal props they will also be way quieter which will be a game changer for on set work.
Going by all the very average footage we see from most youtube drone operators, I feel your job is very safe. It’s about so much more than simply flying a drone. It’s about the eye, the attention to detail, about producing the most insane footage. Thanks for sharing - I could watch your drone footage every day.
There is a bill set to congress to presently ban DJI products from being used by consumers in the USA. If it goes thru congress we will not be able to use any DJI Products in the USA.
The world needs more Trent Palmer videos. At least I do. I didn't understand half of what was said in this, but all these videos are a calming break from the world. Thanks.
Does bill H.R. 2864: Countering CCP Drones Act make you nervous at all? I hope it goes no where personally. It would hurt my side projects as a part 107.
Thanks for the review Trent. Great job. As a commercial pilot with 2 Inspire 2's, I am excited about how much of an improvement this new version is. It has been long overdue and I am glad it is finally hear.
I've been waiting for someone that actually shoots aerials full time to review the I3. Nice work Trent! I'd love to come down and check it out sometime.
"I don't want a bag on it too bad cuz at this point we're getting very nitpicky" -having not set a single negative thing during this entire sales pitch lol
Very impressive ! It is a big decision you took ! You got nerves ! Is the manual flying heavy drone era completely finished or will there be a small niche for some operators? A great video again. Thank you and congratulations for this new change in your business.
Just out of curiosity, will this bad boy & its case fit into the Freedom Fox, Trent? If so, how well? If not, are you contemplating how you can safely & securely mount it?
This is entertaining to me. RTK has been in use in agriculture for vehicle navigation for decades now. Amazing to see it come to a use case like this as a new application of it!
10 months have passed and set life hasnt changed much. Yes, a few heavylift gigs have been swapped to Inspire 3 but nothing crazy. But it was certainly an end of the Inspire 2 Era :D
Very nice video to watch . DJI INSPIRE 3 is pretty cool drone for aerial cinematography. I am also using DJI Drones for more than 7 years in Indian Film Industry. I started to use DJI Phantom 3 then phantom 4,Inspire 1,Inspire 2 and now very proud to own & operate DJI INSPIRE 3 . I am a DGCA(India Govt) certified Drone Pilot from Kerala/India. Love all DJI PRODUCTS…❤❤❤
Just picked up the $900 license for Inspire 3. Apparently you can’t import ProRes Raw 59.94 into Davinci Resolve. I bought it yesterday specifically for a client who had a job last evening and I sure looked bad as I could not edit the Inspire 3 footage. Nowhere did DJI advise me that it would not work in DaVinci Resolve. I want a refund. How do you return a license?
Egads, a bazillion features! How does anyone keep track of all that?? Just today I tried Adaptive Cruise Control on a loaner car. I had trouble figuring out how to turn it on (no words, just tiny icons I'm supposed to figure out what they mean), but once engaged, it was weird to see it working. Following a car going 5 mph below the speed limit, I was annoyed, but the system didn't care. It just kept its distance and did everything it was supposed to. Technology is so mind-boggling! They say a poor workman blames his tools, but I say a good workman has good tools. Seeing the results, I'd say you're a pretty good workman.
Great video. Very informative. A Baofeng UV5R. Unless you're licensed and haven't told us, I'd hate to see you get entangled with the FCC too, even at 1 watt and in the middle of nowhere. Those old ones are prone to scatter RF. Just sayin'. GMRS would work.
Heavy lift quote from a friend, downtown San Fran, on the water in the warf, drone fails with a red on it on take off and AD yells and "DRONE TEAMS wrapped" hahahah Thank god for the inspire 3 ;)
Seven year old technology vs. current state of the art - All I could imagine was the difference between a 7 year old cellphone and the current capabilities of the new ones!! Very understandable. You millions are witnessing technology growth at exponential growth versus any of the previous generations!! That's technology and man's desire to dream big.
Seems nice if you want lame slow, panning shots. Definitely not going to replace a true FPV quad that can carry a RED Komodo or Alexa Mini at high speed and high agility.
Hello Trent, is there any proxies on the SSD when you you choose to record in DNG RAW ? Also, do you have any issue with the high rolling shutter when shooting in 8K ?
Ahh finally you sold out and got an inspire and i was thinking about buying the Alta 8. is the inspire 3 that good cause i still have my I2 fully kitted
and anyone with a 3DR Solo is thinking those 3D dolly and cable cam routes sound familiar. It is about time DJI included these things, they should've moved more smarts to the aircraft instead of relying on the controller to send stick commands for so long.
I don't see a lot of need for a new phantom, since the mavic 3 line delivers enough quality, while still getting the super portable benefits that you miss with phantom style drones. With that said, maybe there is something in the middle between Mavic and Inspire for people like me that would love having a full frame sensor up there but for which the pricing of inspire is just too far away for my business.
I tend to usually love most of your videos I come across, but this video had me cringing a little so at first and then a little more so after you and your friend started fake question and answer banter , and then finally at the end, when you said that bit about not being critical about the Inspire 3, that was too much.
I want the quad with the arms and claws to grab a rail on landing or grab a chair or lift objects and fly it through the on board camera your wing man as allways this is loyd in oregon!!love the vedio.
Impressive stuff indeed ... I did however think it was gonna go sideways in the barn shot .. that was a pretty big glitch to the left ... I bet the operator had a heart stopping moment ...
The reality is the quality coming out of the Inspire 3 is just insanely good. The way the movement feels / looks + recroping, stabilization, tracking (in camera and/or post), composites on routes. You don't need to know anything about all this - you can just look at the quality of the images coming out - the night shots are unreal given the small size on that.
I've just seen the inspire 3 in person a week ago and the difference between 2 and 3 is huge. Also the controller is finally what it should have been from the begging, a computer with a large screen, and loads of custom buttons just so you set everything up from there. I finally see the need I'm buying the RTK kit for this one, I'd imagine multi day event coverage would be insane to stitch everything together with a simple fade.

A RTK system augments the basic timecode used to determine position as transmitted by the GPS satellites with carrier phase information as seen by the base station. By comparing the phase as seen by the base station with that as seen by the receiver RTK can provide additional accuracy beyond "basic" DGPS. DGPS lets you get down to about 3cm level accuracy, while adding RTK lets you reach 1cm or less.
@@ulsig95 GBAS is one implementation of DGPS that provides a communication infrastructure, some special functions, and a common means of access; to my knowledge, GBAS doesn't include RTK functionality (it doesn't use the carrier phase as part of positioning). Shit, I don’t need a drone like this or even want one, but for some reason I’m going to buy one. 🤔
9.3 miles! Nice!!
Best i3 review out there! Thank you

Spot the open container.
Most of what you said went wayyyy over my head. But one thing I am sure of: If Batman used a drone, this would be the one!
It’s just heavily feature packed for aiding professionals
That repeatable shot thing is going to be a MASSIVE selling point for real estate videos, but I couldn't help laugh at the vanishing dog at 14:07 :-)
AUD$20 469 base price or USD$14 065 as of 18 Jun 2023. If you want to throw down the cash you will have turn it over a few times.

Good video, I subscribed. I am at a cross road too. Mavic 3 cine pro and wanting to transition to inspire 3! 🎉

Hey if it pays for itself. To each his own. At that price it's not for the regular drone aficionados.
You should start a flying fly fisherman channel! I'm into both, but I'm sure there's several viewer who couldn't care less about fly fishing!
Back country flying and fly fishing are the perfect combination! A match made in heaven.

I saw a review where they mounted it on a car and the gimble could handle up to about 90 miles an hour. With the speed he flyes it might not work.
@@jginmt I'd be shocked if there's no gimbal-locking mechanism to stabilize the camera when the unit's being moved. Even my old Mavic Pro 2 has one.
