There is absolutely nothing on the docket for Star Wars that remotely interests me in a positive way... Skeleton Crew? Yikes. The Rey Movie? I'm gonna 🤮. What's left? Mando S4? Mando's been sidelined in his own series for a whamen. Positivity is all well and good but take care it doesn't turn into delusion. The Acolyte was, honestly as someone who fell in love with SW first through the prequels as a kid, and based on premise and setting alone, one of the only projects that could've won me back. There was _so much_ potential in this, if only it spun a compelling story with interesting characters but most importantly it had to, HAD TO, respect established lore and instead it seems to have intentionally dropped the ball at almost every opportunity. My Star Wars died in 2012, and I've made my peace with that now. Call it pessimistic if you want, but I still thoroughly enjoy all of the EU as George told us long long ago to compartmentalize and separate anything that wasn't his.
I understand. It's been hard (and I've failed numerous times) to stay positive, but I realize that positivity "sounds" better and so I've made an effort to talk more about what I like. I chose not to cover the show the way I've done with The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Andor because I heard rumors (that turned out to be true) about what the show would bring. I think it was a wise choice on my part, because there is very little I found enjoyable. I will always be able to enjoy the movies that gave my imagination a great playground, but I think those in charge now just won't be satisfied until they ruin what made Star Wars enjoyable to me.
