I'm with you, I'm only missing 5 of the characters that exist right now but my display still has the original 5 Kenner figures in it. Can't wait to put them in proper surroundings.

@@johnathanjones9216Even if it only gets to 8k, the Tonnikas will be some of the RAREST TVC figures ever produced. Compare them to Crumb and the Mouse Droid from the SDCC set. Crumb routinely sells for over $1,000. No brainer back. I’d back 5 or more if I had the funds. Three is all I could swing right now.

I really love seeing the Cantina and figures that are being offered in this Haslab. I really hope to see a new vintage collection Kardue'sai'Malloc in the future and of course many more since we can't ever have enough figures!

The modular holes and pegs are a little jarring, would it be possible to add male female edge finishing. It would help with displaying it broken out and I don't think it'd be a large effort. Looks great, can't wait!

Im not done raving about this Haslab. This video is an absolute perfect and beautiful way to display this. If you don't have all your patrons (I i still have the Original 5 in my current Cantina display) you can set up what you do have and use the alcoves for other options, pure Genius designing. The option to set up every scene in different places throughout your collection is what makes this entire thing so AWESOME.
If you have SteamVR, there is a mod to turn your Steam Home VR into the Mos Eisley Cantina.
This way I can save Money 😁

What's holding a lot of people back is the fact that they have to rip off 3 figures (2 of which they waited 40+ years for) off their limited cards to display them with the cantina.

I think the Cantina will back @ 8K (just) but will not make the final 3 tiers @ 17K .

Can you share a graphic somewhere with the length and width dimensions of the various sections and pieces (e.g. bar section, single booth, entry facade, etc.)? My other request would be to pipeline a few more cantina characters before the funding campaign ends.

Still not happy about the failure of the rancor. Who puts out a haslab and fails to do it during the show that actually has a rancor in it??? That lack of foresight and timing should have got someone fired especially after those trash extras.
I would love to have the all new 6 figures in my collection. Its ridiculous that you will not release the tonnika sisters and wuher on single cards without having to buy this overpriced playset. Instead of giving the fans characters that we want you give us reva, finn and characters from the acolyte series that nobody asked for, and that will only warm the pegs for years to come.

@@divisionwolpertinger579 Hasbro is wasting plastic by mass producing figures that no one wants, yet make the tonnika sisters exclusives to this overpriced garbage. I hope this haslab fails tbh, but I think it will unfortunately succeed which will only encourage hasbro to pull more scummy moves like this in the future.

so. I was looking at the tvc vehicles i spent a crap ton of money on. the Slave 1 and the Biggs Darklighter tru x wing, and the tru y wing. I was reminded of a couple of things.
1: the slave 1's wings were supposed to rotate into position but due to the wrong spring being put in, it does not.
2: the Y Wing landing gear on has never stayed locked into place, even on the day of purchase.
3: the cannons on the x wing have been crooked, and the wings have never been tight, whether in the closed or attack position, and have always been wobbly.
Having considered how frustrated and angry these issues made me, i have decided not to back the cantina, because Hasbro doesn't deserve my money for this glorified action figure display case. The production quality control is not existent.
We need outside wall in the deluxe version. If you showing the whole cantina on the shelf like i want to, it's gonna look really stupid to see the back of the Alcoves .
No LED lighting? Another fail.
Can’t wait to see this thing hopefully fall short of its goal! You could have done the emperors throne room, or a multi tiered, Ewok village, or a Cloud city. So many better ways to go!

Apparently a lot of people want to press a button and hear a thin sound version of Cantina Band blaring through a tiny speaker while the whole bar lights up like a circus tent. I can't imagine anything more cheesy.
Why? At the end of the day, these are toys. No Sideshow Premium Figures, no movie prob replicas or statues, just a playsets for normal Action Figures that started it all.
I want ii with toy-features.
Great looking set, however I’m very disappointed with this comment @15:20. The Cantina band are a major part of this diorama and their tunes make this scene legendary. My first thought was why a dedicated stage/replica set-up is not considered in this playset. As I mentioned, it’s all very intricate and nicely set out, but I totally disagree with your ‘recommendation’ to shove them in a booth.
Because they were shoved into a booth on later reshoots for the movie. Not to mention they were filmed on a different set in the US and not the actual cantina set in London. There was never a band stage. What emily did with them is what Lucas did with them in real life lol. Star wars books and magazines filled in the blanks where they thought the bands booth could be located. They chose the last booth on the right side, which would make it on the Deluxe side of the playset. So there really is no choice but to buy the Deluxe version over the standard just for those extra booths for the band.
Do we have this kind of video to any of the previous Haslabs? I can’t remember but I think this is the first time and only a week ago of the main reveal.
They must be REALLY desperate.
So sad a playset with so much potential ended up like this, people are justifying to back it mainly for the figures. Thats not very “haslab” for me. Figures should not be the main reason we are crowdfunding a proyect like this…
The last Haslab, Omega Prime, had a an update video showing a painted model that wasn’t present in the original reveal stream. You’re commenting on the channel where these videos are uploaded… You can look it up yourself you know.
I could buy a really nice 3D printer for 500 bucks.
So for $400 you dont include LEDs but have the gall to woffle on about how easy it would be to add LEDs yourself… do you even hear yourself?
Whats going on with the retro original line?
I love this set, BUT it's definitely overpriced. Each version should be $100 less than the current price. If it were fairly priced, there would be far more backers. It wouldn't hurt profits to lower the price, as it has lots of duplicate pieces, and isn't that expensive to manufacture. The increase in the amount of backers would offset the price reduction.
The distillery portion of the bar is CRAZY detailed!!!
A shame the outside is not so crazy detailed.... 🤦♂️
I'm hoping the Modal Nodes make an encore appearance at Hasbro Pulse...

Excellent work on the photos. Yea, I've backed 2 of the deluxe versions. I plan to have many of the pieces displayed like this.
The sculpts on the figures that came with this set are fantastic!
Saw someone say that this was an "overpriced Barbie house for STAR WARS". I say "damn straight, sign me up!" If this backs, just think, a 6 foot tall Death Star Playset inspired by the original Kenner playset only done Haslab style. Or how about the biggest dream for us all, a Star Destroyer. Anyone will do fine. They say these are dream projects. I dream BIG. Make Barbie look like trailer trash.
This cantina is $500! Can you imagine what they would charge for a complete Deathstar or Star destroyer???? Lol
I didn't say a complete Death Star, but to do it justice it would have to be like a small book case, size of the barge only upright with the dimensions of the cantina. And yes it would be expensive but have you gotten groceries lately? $6 for a gallon of milk? Everything is stupid anymore, world we live in. But that would be a dream project, go BIG or go home.
If anyone thinks this is overpriced, they should try printing and sanding a million little cups, never mind the whole bar array!

Please end the anticipated embargo on the tiered characters if those levels aren't reached. Arleil Schous is my most wanted cantina alien, but 17k in backers doesn't sound realistic. If they aren't included, release them via fan channel later, don't deny the community any fan favorites we've been requesting for years.

I would have rather they offered “lights” for one of the tiers. Offer more functionality for the tiers. For the price they’re asking, all those figures should have been included.

I've been a collector since the Razor Crest, and this is the HasLab I'm most excited about. I love it & I think it looks great. I think playsets are so much more interesting than ships.

Putting the Tonnika sisters and Wuher on cards but not loose, I think, is a big shame. Everyone will want to keep them carded (including myself who has been collecting loose figures since potf2) but will obviously want them loose to actually put in the set up against the bar.
Have you got any plans for more stretch goals, if, like the Ghost Haslab, it passes the target late on. Then goes way beyond the 17,000 to say 25,000?

Facts
This is awesome, and a tvc collector I can't wait to get the figures. HOWEVER, I think we have all been surprised at the slow sign up to back this, at the moment it only looks like it will just make 8000, the other tiers seem far to high, plus this thing isn't cheap! The value of this is all about the 6 figures! HASBRO you might want to think about your strategy quickly, I love today's video but people aren't struggling creative ideas, they are struggling with cost!!

Really glad y’all showed this display idea. A lot of people have been questioning a horizontal shelf display like you showed and a coffee table view display and whether the base or deluxe was the right call. Me personally I chose the deluxe but I’ll be displaying half of it like you show 80% of the time. I have plans to use the other half of the cantina to go with my throne room display which I’m glad you also mentioned. Some have called the deluxe a pointless option if the cantina is to displayed on a shelf but if we see it from a versatile pov the deluxe is the way to go in my opinion. Between the cantina, Jabbas palace, the BOBF throne room I’ll have a whole shelf dedicated to Tatoonie and I can’t wait!
So I won't deny that the interior of the cantina looks spectacular and that this is literally a dream item for me. But consideration for how the deluxe model is going to look on display really should have been made. The deluxe model is not really a tuck away on a shelf piece if you want to assemble it as the full building. It's a 360 degree view building, so the fact that the exterior walls (apart from the entrance way) are hollow and unfinished, as well as having unsightly gaps between some of the exterior sections, is unfortunately a terrible design choice. I'm sorry, but the external parts of the building just look unfinished and it's not a good look. For a cheap playset, hollow, unfinished back walls would be fine, but for a $500 Haslab advertised as a premium item? The exterior really should be finished. For me, the outer walls don't need to be extremely detailed and decorated with things like doors, but they do need to at least exist. I'd snap-back a deluxe model if the exterior of the building just actually looked like a complete building. I really want to be able to set up a display around the building itself (Dewbacks, Jawas, droids, random Tattooine denizens) but the exterior walls (or lack of in some parts) but those awkward corner gaps in the outer wall and the hollow walls on the back of the booths is very offputting..
Also Arleil is my most wanted cantina character. Very disappointing that we won't be able to obtain him if the cantina doesn't somehow reach 17k backers which, at this rate, seems extremely unlikely. He really should have been a guaranteed inclusion as long as it backed.

I doubt hasbro will re release every single cantina figure in tvc line. It sounds more like they're prepping us to use any star war figure even if it's not authentic to the mos Eisley cantina. Example jabbas barge or palace where are the much needed denizens.
I have to admit its a good chunk of money , maybe some more figures added id like a bit more time also
This runs like a test to propose in 2 years from now a gigantic $899 Death Star playset to celebrate A New Hope 50th anniversary and the birth of Star Wars. In no way will Hasbro propose the playset of the most iconic battle station in the universe (and which has been requested by fans since the 90's and the relaunch of the modern toyline) if fans are not even able to back up the cantina playset for "just" $400. I feel we should give our support to Hasbro, but Hasbro better not to let us down as our expectations are high (at the image of the Haslab price)
hiring matt to do both marketing and product photos was probably the best decision hasbro has made in the last several years. the amount of additional interest due to the fact that we can actually see the potential of the figures, vehicles and playsets is incalculable.

I understand that they have to make it appealing, but if you haven' been collecting the FIGURES since 1995, it will never look like that. Somewhat misleading I would say.

Per the video it’s got pipe lighting. So put a small led projector behind it and it glows. Think some of the PotF2 R2s or the Jawas. Nice little effect.

All the complaints about the set but no one is getting that the figures are the selling point. 3 never before released figures, ever, and only will be if this is backed, which, those figures will be worth a combined price of what this project cost you. As a collector that has the original Kenner figures and everything up until now, these are the ones I've wanted more than the rest. All you lifelong collector's know deep down you want this. Stop hating and support all we have left of the size that changed toys, 3.75 Vintage Line is all we have left, not supporting this could hurt future projects. We've all come together for the rest, this is truly an incredible Haslab and so many things can be done with it. I've supported it twice with a third once the final tier hits. Let's do this. May the Force be with you All.
I don't know. It sounds like buying a car because it has AC. I only remember 1 figure coming with the Sail Barge. That figure came at the end of the campaign as a "Thank You" for backing the project, not as an incentive to back it. It really should have some lights and maybe some sound effects. With that said, I hope it gets funded. It is a good playset.
Loving the Tonnika Sisters. Wasn't as excited for Greedo and Nebrun Leids. They look great but I already have them represented in my collection. Definitely would have preferred new never released before characters as tiers instead. I likely would have bought a second playset if they had.

Sure if you sell the figures on card it will pay for the playset but then you don't have the figures for your playset. Also, you have to open the figures to use them in your playset thus decreasing the value of said figures.
It would cost Hasbro very little to toss in loose examples of these figures - they are fully aware of the carded collector community. But buy 2! Uhm no.
If you buy two you still have to open a set of figures thus killing the value of said figures.
