Check out 1:14. You can see Servo's control rod when Kevin Murphy lifts him up a bit too far! it happens a few times! Joel is largely describing 'Mad Men'!
i know how much of a hot button issue it is for nerds discussing who was the better host Joel or Mike but my favorite will always be Joel. On a side note I like Kevin Murphy as Tom Servo (my favorite bot as he had a stroke of madness to him and THAT VOICE!) I'd buy an album of all of Tom Servos songs :-)
I do like Mike slightly more (and I adore Pearl, she makes me laugh SO hard) but Joel is also great. The show would not even exist if it weren't for him, after all. He IS the show. :)
The subliminal messages: Sex: 0:41 and 1:11 Drugs: 0:45 (No rock and roll? ... Two out of three ain't bad.) Turn on, tune in, drop out: 0:47, 0:52, 0:54 Mustangs: 1:17 Turn me on, dead man: 1:24 Subliminal messages: 1:32 I am the walrus: 2:25 Protests: 2:31 Tie-dye shirts: 2:38 Bell-bottoms: 2:40 I can't get 1:00, 1:08, 2:21, 2:27, 2:37 and 2:49 and I'm sure I missed a few besides, though. The 60s isn't my decade. XD Also love the way Joel says "Peace, love and pizza rolls." :)
Catalina Caper is out on DVD in one of the volume sets. Little Richard was also in this episode and Crow accuses him of being hopped up on goof balls! ROTFL!
I only think I remember from the 60's is drugs and Beatles. They were pretty hot and I kinda wish I could meet them all back in the 60's. I'm a Beatle girl!
The Mads were wasting their time trying to drive this guy insane... he was already there.
Everytime a kid says "I wish I lived in the 60s" while watching a Beatles video, I want to show them this..
"Oh, and did I mention there were drugs at that time?"
That Sentry store was in Ashwaubenon (Green Bay), Wisconsin. It is now an Ace Hardware.

Servo: "Turn me on dead man." "I am the walrus."
Joel, you can't go to Woodstock, you're 9 years old!
Baths in the front yard, being shot into space... poor guy can't catch a break!
"Joel's having a lot of pain, we'll be right back".
Kevin Murphy still seems to be trying to imitate Josh Weinstein's voice for Servo at this early stage.
There were seatbelts in cars but nobody used 'em...
Three days of peace, love, and pizza rolls!
Ha!
I just love Crow's annoyed expression at 3:15.

What am I missing here...? What are you talking about...
Listen closely
You could say Joel was blissfully unaware of what the 60's really encompasses, Vietnam, Stonewall Inn & Pat Paulsen's presidential campaign. 😜
"Peace, love and PIZza rolls."
catalina caper was one of the funniest episodes ever !!! id kill to get a copy of the whole episode!!!

A classic cut!!
EFFIN JOEL man. Right on
Sean Schemmel was born in the 60's! (1968 to be exacted)
Just about the only description of the 60s without once mentioning the Beatles.
Right about that--wouldn't have been the 1960s without them.

Hiliarous this a good mst3k episode👻
"Everbody believed what the president said"....sorry Joel, I was there, not true.
He was a little kid at the time.
The Nixon backlash was in the offing...
So is "Creepy Girl" Servo's waifu?
He sang a whole song about her
Creepy Girl has returned in the year of our lord 2022.
Perfect '60s summation, right there.😀😆...apart from not mentioning The Beatles
Joel narrating the plot of a Richard Fariña novel
(Turnmeondeadman!)
baths in the front yard? was that a common way to punish your kids in the 60s?
sounds more like the 1860s
Nope
I can't get the rest, but I'm pretty sure 2:27 is sit-ins.
Or 'love-ins, bed-ins', be-ins...
the only subliminal message i heard was i am the walrus.thats weird cuz im a beatles fan...
'I buried Paul...'

Oh, you know. THE drugs.
The 60's were when college students protested FOR free speech instead of against it.
Whoosh
2 of the guy's who protested at Kent State when the massacre happened, later went to form the band Devo
Yeah ppl loved racism back then. 🙄
