    Awesome analysis bro! I'll give you 2 clues on the polyphonic!
    1. I don't use the uvula at all
    2. There is one specific muscle that I use to constantly change the pitch and frequency of the poly (which u did not mention in the video btw). Happy hunting bro xD

    I think there is many types and ways of doing a polyphinic, for example, alexinho's polyphonic is controling the sweet spot between falsetto and chest voice, you can also do a polyphonic between mix and falsetto. Two h low polyphonic is really weird, but from what i saw it consist in blocking a lot of air with your throat and just letting a little bit go through wich makes a high pitch (like when your out of breath or strangled) and vocalising it (Cirby beatbox did a rather good tutorial on it). I also was able while sick to do a really high polyphonic which i suspect is a poly between falsetto and whistle voice but im not sure.
    I can do some fairly clean falsetto subharmonics and it doesn't sound like these polys.
    I think you can find a lot of info by also searching for double voice and voice cracks, since a lot of people actually learned poly by doing a lot of double voices (watch show go tutorial for more help), double voice has also a lot of mystery, i was able to do a whistle voice to falsetto double voice while sick and i think so so can do it too, but sometimes your voice cracks for no reasons with itself, almost like a part of your voice suddenly activate.
    But yeah, all these techniques are incredible and would deserve some real attention by singers and scientists, because there is so much potential and so much things we don't know.

    • @dreeg9948
      @dreeg9948 3 роки тому +2

      Yeah that's very informational about the different variations on doing polyphonics. There's also the inward polyphonics which also has a decent amount of variations on it.

    • @jonathanvitesse9471
      @jonathanvitesse9471 3 роки тому +2

      @@dreeg9948 yeah all outward polys can be done inward, you might even be able to do more since the vocal cords are less trained and more dissonent

    bro i was trying to learn this polyphonic voice for almost 3 months and I think the same as you, that this is just subharmonic in falceto and i found a way to learn it by doing show-go's double voice or trying to do river's throat bass tranzition. So i still cant do the voice becouse im to lazy :D but one time i managed to go from this poly voice to subharmonic bass (vocal fry) so i think im on a good way. Btw thanks for making this video its really helpful

    I watched Stitch’s tutorial for his polyphonic a while ago. I didn’t think of much after not being able to get it. Mostly bc I was learning some other sounds, one of these was the show go double voice.
    I was then grabbing some eggo waffles from my fridge practicing (at least attempting) show go’s double voice. I somehow managed to get a sound that reminded me of polyphonic voice.
    End result: I managed to learn the polyphonic by trying to continuously flip between chest and falsetto! Unfortunately I still can’t do show go double voice.

    The A# (2 or 9) you hear is a 5th of a 5th. If he pushed the original polyphony hard enough, it would make sense that this note appears, as it would be pretty strong in the harmonic sequence. I'd say at the very extremes of this technique, if it is loud enough and you can manage to get some gargle in there, you'd theoretically be able to make a strong major 3rd and possibly even a flat 5 (major 3rd from the 9) as well. I hope to see someone do this!

    I pretty much got it right away after listening to lalah Hathaway. The trick is
    1) Not going too low. The note you pick should be in your head voice and pretty high. Not so high that it's a struggle, but up there. This is where it's most comfortable to learn, you can develop your lower range later. Chezame was trying to do it too low and it resulted in that weird croaky wavering.
    2) Making the note "breathy". Stitch described it as layering it with a whisper but really you're just relaxing your vocal folds so that more air comes out.
    3) Once you have the breathy note, keep your throat muscles the same but use your diaphragm to push out more air. This technique requires a lot of air and you won't be able to sustain it for very long. I usually get a note that is a third above the fundamental pitch I'm singing plus a slight low grumbling.
    Once you have it, work on the pitch. You can move the fundamental up and down and even position your throat so that the interval between the notes changes. I still haven't mastered this but I can do major thirds and fourths and I think I've even done a tritone. (Or I just sounded bad). I don't really know how to command the interval yet but I find sticking my neck out gives me a fourth and keeping my chin in gives me a third. I have not done a fifth like stitch has done but still working on it.
