    Eli! I would also consider a hybrid option! Newer cars may be have a higher tag but they may be a better buy at the end. Insurance may be cheaper on a newer car. Or it may even have a better Gap option as opposed to used ones. Older cars may consume more gas as well. (Which is very expensive these days! And it adds up!). Also have in mind that older cars can be more expensive later, because of mechanical problems. Specially when they have lots of miles or because the inclement weather. Lots and lots of road salt is used to melt snow on roads. An older car may look pretty on the outside but the bottom of the car may be super weak due to corrosion. Bonitos, con pocas millas pero a punto de oxidarse!
    You never know how older owners took care of their cars. Good owners wash their cars even after salty salty roads hehehe. Also there is something called the “time belt” this has to be changed about every 60k to 100k miles or so. And that’s expensive. There’s a reason why those old cars are waiting on those parking lots waiting to be purchased!
    So, these are my 2 cents:
    1. Take advantage of the system you are in. Use your good credit: to get into a new car at a lower APR.
    2. Think on terms of long term: the newer the car the longer it will last.
    3. Think of a monthly budget and you will realize that paying for an older car vs a newer car a month there’s no much of a difference. Remember to add gas and insurance!.
    4. A new car has more warranties and you will know for sure the probability of getting a mechanical bill is lower. Only the regular maintenance, such as oil change. Tires are expensive too! But you won’t have to think about that for many more years.
    5. You can get a new car for the price tag of an older car. If you buy a car that is new but with no lux features. You don’t need the extra bells and whistles!
    6. I would search online: compare compare compare. Then go to a dealership and say: I want a new car, lower in gas. No extra features. Just the basics, then you can start from there, what if I want this, or that? 🤗

    Well I would say don’t get so much debt to buy a car, try to pay at least the 50% of the car, however it depends on your necessities, buy a car which you can sell easily, take into account the extra expenses for example taxes, manteinance, gas, car parts, winter and summer wheels and its changes each six months you know for keeping your budget, most part of the time is better a well-known vehicle brand with good support and quality than others which might present more maintenance or more wear parts, I don’t know if maintenance is include or not in your country but well, I think I would give you that piece of advise :)

    Ellie, muchas felicidades por iniciar esta búsqueda! Tendrás éxito en tu búsqueda, ya verás. Consejo: Siendo una compra muy importante, lo primero que debe pasar es que te “enamores” del auto 🚙… Si te gusta, y te sientes cómoda y feliz, esa es la primera prueba. Luego, consigue un mecánico de confianza y llévaselo para que lo revise de arriba a abajo. El gasto de mecánico considéralo dentro de tu presupuesto. Es necesario. Por último, para elegir un tipo de coche pregúntate para que vas a usarlo. ¿Solo vas a manejar dentro de la ciudad? Entonces uno pequeño (y económico) puede funcionarte. ¿Piensas salir al bosque y a carretera? Entonces tal vez una SUV (como la que probaste) o un 4x4 (un Jeep, por ejemplo) sea lo que necesites. Creo que lo mejor es mantener la decisión lo más simple posible: Siendo un auto usado, entre menos aditamentos tenga (menos lujos) es más fácil su mantenimiento y será mejor su estado de conservación… Mucha suerte, querida Ellie. Me da muchísimo gusto verte en YT de nuevo! Un abrazo fuerte!

    Hi, professional trucker here. I've only bought 2 cars in my life. Both have lasted me a long time and there are some questions that the nice sales guy did mention. I would like to further expand on that. I see that you have a partner. Are they tall in stature cause if so if you buy a small car they maybe uncomfortable getting in. Do you mountain bike or canoe? If so a larger vehicle would be better. Since you live in Stratford you may want to consider 4 wheel drive. Since the roads can get pretty slick not to mention you may need to use a side road. For me since I live in in the west GTA fuel efficiency was my top concern since there is a lot of traffic. For financing, I put 75 percent down on the car. Then 25 percent was put on the loan. That lasted for like 6 years at less than 100 per month. I bought a Ford focus it's been like 7 years and it's been very reliable. Even though I've had 2 recalls and a transmission blow out Ford still covered the repairs. It's over 7 years and 100000 km and the thing still pretty much drives better than when I got it. So I guess that would be my last piece of advice. Make sure you get some kind of warranty on it or know that the parts of your car are cheap. Most domestic cars have much cheaper parts since there made in our area. Cheers.

      You make such good points, thank you!!! I'll be doing some paddle boarding in the summer so yeah, a bigger SUV would be better. One question though, is there a significant difference between AWD and AWD? I appreciate the help and the time you took to reply to my video :)

    • @Hudsonrulez
      @Hudsonrulez Рік тому

      @@ElizabethExpress If you mean All Wheel Drive vs 4 Wheel Drive then the difference is this. 4wd can be switched on and off in your car. All Wheel Drive is always on. AWD typically burns more fuel. If I had the choice I would do 4WD for fuel costs. It maybe more of an initial cost but you will save that money in the long term with gas prices.

    Advice...never finance a car for longer than 5 years. If you have to finance for more than 5 years to be able to afford the monthly payments, then you cannot afford the car. Banks and car companies offer longer finance periods to sell more high priced vehicles. Don't fall into this trap. If you do, you may end up owing more for the car then it is worth later on.
