  • "Red Hot Rhythm" , now sadly lost, was a minor musical film produced in Hollywood by Pathe in 1929. The only version of the title song recorded in the UK was this one, by Nat Star & his band (vocal by Fred Douglas) released as "Vincent Howerd & his orchestra" on the cheap Sterno label. The recording quality of Sterno records at this period was somewhat inferior to the main labels, and the performance here is also fairly restrained so the record does not quite live up to its title! It is however a performance that I enjoy the more I listen to it, so I hope you also will enjoy some "Red Hot Rhythm"!
