Thank you so much for making this video! I was wondering how to change the battery without breaking everything.
I've accidentally left my controller on. I keep an extra battery in my kit with the wire. Wish this video was available then, I was cornfused 🌽
2:22 and that jump cut.
I mean the entire process smacks of something that the end user shouldn't be doing really.
Most things have a battery housing and this has not 1 but 2 batteries that require micro surgery to perform.
I agree!! Terrible design. Glad there’s a video though.
but will it work WITHOUT the batteries? plugged in via cable of course
Very difficult installation
Why didn't you continue with the installation?
This remote control is complicated by experience
Thanks for the vid. NOT exactly a customer serviceable design. Sure, most anyone who is a customer of this winch and offroad products is likely to have little problem swapping batteries. There is the outside chance that you can pinch a wire or break the solder. Maybe even gooping up the insides with some mud, grease, beer, BBQ sauce, or most probably, tears, rendering the remote unusable.
However, needing battery service, the remote should have been better engineered with a battery cover. Preferably a waterproof cover that is toolless, tethered and a single screw/bolt that doesn't fall out into the mud in the middle of the night. Something similar to what is seen on some hand-held radios and GPS units.
Hoping you can come up with a better designed remote that can be retro-fitted to winches you've already sold.
The light is nice to have.
I have a 9500 and my wireless mod doesn’t work anymore. Hard wired works but the green lite in controller for the wireless mod doesn’t come on. And no action. Was an easy fix, had a brain fart and neglected to hit the mod button on the controller LOL
The remote won't work wireless, would you suggest changing the batteries? It's a new remote and I have only had the winch installed a month. Thanks!

Is one of these batteries supposed to be a rechargeable (maybe the light battery)?
It is not rechargeable, unfortunately.
@@Ironman4x4America thought so. iron Man in Australia told me it’s rechargeable if you eave the cable plugged in which if camping you could leave it set up this way till you drive. good to know now that it’s not rechargeable.
Hello. Do you have any idea why my Ironman winch works for just 4-5 seconds? I've changed the remote control batteries. I have the problem on wireless but also with the cable plugged in.(few months ago it worked perfect) thanks.
Why don't you contact our customer service so they can take care of you? These winches have a 5-year warranty. 855-476-5714
So... not something you ate going to be doing in the field.
