A lot of people do not like to listen to people to tell them right. You still have women relaxing their hair, then they cut it all off or the hair fall off to where they go back natural when it sees it wasn't working for them, in the meantime some people have told them so, in which they refused to listen too.

Ever since going back to the relaxer, my hair has never been longer or healthier. I have waist length hair and always get compliments on the length and thickness of my hair. Damaged relaxed hair may be true for some but it is not true for all. Just like healthy natural hair is true for some but not all. We all are entitled to our opinions but that's just what it is, an opinion and not a fact.

I had the same issue, I used a box dye before traveling to Japan. My hair hated me for the longest time (for about 6 months.) It felt dry, like if I fried it with a blowdryer/flatiron!
I was able to reverse it by doing:
•hot oil treatments AND deep conditioning CONSISTENTLY every week. My hair went back to normal in about 3 months.
•I recently discovered Olaplex and the Aphogee Curlific! Treatments. I wish I had those a year ago, cuz it would have helped immensely!
•If you dyed your hair and it’s damaged, make sure you’re trimming your hair more often than you usually would (trim your hair about every 3 months), because your ends WILL fight you lol (they are the oldest part of your hair, therefore weaker than the hair growing out your roots. They need extra TLC.)

I feel your pain....honestly, I do! I’m a firm believer in following my heart...whenever I felt my hair stopped speaking to me, I knew it was time for change, which equates to a CUT! It’s just hair and will grow back. If its too much of a shock to cut all the color off at one time, then do it in phases. A blunt cut in a straightened state is a tapered cut in its curly state. Just go for it...

    I absolutely feel your pain!
Last week (a day before you posted this video) I HAD IT with my blonde highlights and I just started chopping them off along with every piece of hair that didn't curl like it's supposed to curl. The very next day I got knotless box braids cause I just know that I totally jacked my hair up when I cut it, but I don't even care. At least I won't have to look at those dry-ass patches of hair anymore.
I know you didn't ask for our opinions, but let the color go and let the healthy hair make it's way through.

I had a similar problem. I had just did the big chop with my mother and bleached my hair purple a couple of days later. I felt good about it at first, but as a couple of days passed, I regretted it. My curls went from tight to frizzy and almost nonexistent. I really hated how it looked and I waited about a year or two before cutting off the dyed ends. My hair is doing so well now, and I missed what little length I had when I cut it the second time, but it my best decision ever.
But I understand how people are different, my best friend grew out her hair over a year or two before the big chop, but I only waited a month. So whatever pace you go through, I'll still be watching your hair videos and vlogs. You do what you feel like is necessary, sis! 👍🏾

Yesss I experienced the same thing when I dyed my hair red. It was fine for a minute and then it was just dry no matter how much I deep conditioned. But what helped me was a protein treatment! I would say clarify your hair first to make sure it’s not product build up and do a protein treatment. The curl junkie repair me conditioner id amazing and isn’t super harsh. Either that or aphogee 2 min reconstructor and trust me your hair will thank you! Whichever one you choose be sure to follow up with a deep conditioner. Although we still have our natural curl pattern, hair dye is a process that strips our hair of protein and it has to be replenished. Oh yea and also try deep conditioning with heat. It makes a HUGE difference. Hope this helps!

Omg I hate the hair set backs!!! 😩 happens to us all, love you for being transparent❤️. One thing though, I’m a stylist and yes you can go from black/dark brown NATURAL(un-color treated) hair to red. It’s actually one of the least damaging on your hair because red lives naturally in dark hair. I wouldn’t recommend doing at home with box dye because the results are almost never what the picture on the box is. Not saying it can’t be done at home but do plenty of research and even get a consultation at a salon before you decide to do it yourself. I’ve had red hair now for a little over 2 years (professionally done) without bleaching my hair at all.
Good Luck on your grow our journey Jess. Wish you were in NY so you could come in to the salon and I could offer more help. ❤️

I am going through the same thing. I going to buy some vitamins because what I learned in my 30s was you have to take care your body from the inside out. I’m just hoping that it’s not too late for me because I’m now 48 and hair thinning runs in my family from both sides. Also remember if you are going through a stressful time your hair and skin is the first things that will show signs of the stress. Over the summer I was rushed to the E.R. think I was having an heart attack. So, whatever it is try to let it go. Give it to God, this is what I been practicing and I keep reminding myself that it will take some. When a person colors they’re hair you have to take extra precautions to keep it healthy. The only way to do that is to keep it extra conditioning and moisturizing keep it moist. This is what I am working on. So, I feel you and your struggle! Keep at it, and give her extra attention and moisture and she will be alright. I will try coloring my hair again but, now I know that I can’t just wash and condition my hair she’s going to need more attention. Because you was rocking that red and I look fierce in red myself. I’m not ready to give up on the red just keep clipping your ends as needed. P.S. No, I am not a hair stylist this is just something that I used to do in my 30s and my hair was longer and healthier. Good luck sis 💗💖👍🏽
