My Carrera Slot Cars all have tire rot and goo coming from the Tires. I’m switching to Scalextric and selling Carrera garbage Slot Cars and Set
Still got all my old Scalextric; don't race anymore sadly as no time. Wish the digital had been around when I was really into it though; would have been much easier than trying to handle 2 cars at once. LOL

I have the Mercedes dtp. Even though the wing looks good all it does is add deadweight to the tail end of a car and caused it to drift around the track

i play with those as kid 15 years ago ! my dad give it more volt so I could go insane speed :D fun times

@@beatbox894 same as tru and WD40 my tires bought the latest Mk 1 escort not long back it's nice for just having a quiet cruise around the track from time to time just like your daily commute to shops lol
@@beatbox894 Get racing at a club and then the fun starts on a big track and a proper controller. Best thing I ever did was racing at a club, you will be blown away how fast the cars go without magnets and the competition and modification needed to be competitive. You just can't reach those speeds at home or the experience of having to pick breaking points and having control of the breaks and throttle on your car.
My Scalextric is up in the loft (all boxed up) and not often do I get it down. Shame that computers have ruined a great non screen based activity other than board games. But now Scalextric is bringing screens into it. 😐
If companies don’t keep up they get left behind. You can still get a digital kit for 6 cars with out the need of screens. I’m currently looking to update to the first series of digital. Very inexpensive brilliant upgrade if you got a few pals who want to race simultaneously. Ps, why is it rarely used 😔 once a month minimum for me 😝

@@renegade-master29 😅 this’ll make you feel old then. I was doing the same in the late 90’s while using scalextric most days. Surely though if conquers was your analogy would you not still be pushing around wooden trains 😝😉
Arcpro has an analogue feature which means running all our golden oldie vehicles is still a thing 👍

Pity stock is so hard to get hold of in Australia, once again our pre orders have been cut back due of stock levels. Plus the delivery date is so close to Christmas with all the hold up's. In fact getting anything digital this year has been beyond as waste of time..

I am a bit confused by the 'SCALEXTRIC ARC PRO PLATINUM GT SET' because on the official Scalextric site the second picture has a track with a bridge(which looks well cool) :P but the photo on the box is the layout in this video. Can the bridge version be built with everything that comes in the box? Anyway cool video as always;)

No worries, found it - it's by Revell
Lots of other makes available to race with a more inspired range of classics. Revell Monogram not the greatest running though. Also finished production about ten years ago.

Microchip Shortage and the War in Ukraine and NATO screwing around with China and Taiwan is what is causing all these manufacturing problems.

SCX advance digital set and up to 9 cars on track, you might be able to get Scalextric shipped to you if you have model shop that stock it but likely all SCX in Spain.

I always wanted a Scalextric. I have a Carrera 132. I’m going to buy my first Scalextric in November 2021. I like the compactness compared to Carrera. I believe Scalextric have the better tires
Can you sort your website out?! Your Arc Pro has lasted a day, car speeds are either 0 or full blast, searched the internet but cannot find anything. REALLY frustrating. Cannot find hand throttle map anywhere. Can you help?

@@ronaldwilson3932 just buy any car that is digital plug ready and get a chip for it. If you look on the tech specs on the website it should say dpr and yes next to it.
Aww I'm disappointed, I hoped that the purple mercedies was the Evangelion paint scheme.
This video makes slot cars look way cooler then they actually really are. Rc racing is way more fun then slot car racing

Depends, if your racing hobby grade slot cars then you might enjoy it more. Part of the fun of slot cars is modifying them. Scalextric use to offer a racing chassis but have discontinued it. Also making challenging tracks really takes the racing up a level, the tracks you get in a scalextric set are often basic. For a proper ARC pro track layout with boarders expect to pay £1000 -2000. When you talk hobby grade RC and hobby grade slot cars standard Scalextric cars aren't really hobby grade. Why not try racing slot cars at a club? A lot of clubs do race Scalextric cars like btcc or gt and will allow modifications to the cars.
@@SlotCar2021 ...I race on a four lane wooden track with no magnets..we also built a drag strip with a real tree..most of the cars are modified within strict rules..we do race stock Scalextric as well..Slotit..NSR..and some vintage classes too. You are right working on the cars is part of the fun.
@@Dracoool very nice, I am looking to join a local club with a wooden track. I have a modified rally scalextric start car running without a magnet on sport track and have just finished a pendle mini which is running without a magnet no weight, slot.it motor mount with a 20k mabuchi motor and it is faster than a scalextric with a strong magnet. I also have Tamiya DTM 1/10 scale mercedes stock 540 motor running old radio controller and a RIP max Husky 1/24 scale truck with aluminium chassis, upgraded metal shocks and drive shaft. I don't race RC just have fun with them.
Can the cars be made slower for kids
I love scalextric for about 5 minutes. They should do something to improve the fun of it.
To be fair if your running ARC pro I can't see how that isn't fun. Buy some more track, add jumps, add hairpins. If you have basic set then expand it.
These are great but I like sim racing.
And no shop in Rome has any Scalextric 1:32, only Carrera Go or Chinese knockoffs, how is it possible ? I can only imagine things getting worst with Brexit. Good luck !

I like the idea of getting into it but it's so expensive and limited, my 1/8th rc Porsche nitro car seems more fun and racing games on my phone that are free.
Buy secondhand and it's not expensive at all. There is skill in driving and winning races. Scalextric is more of a toy, if you want to get into proper racing then you can scratch build cars or modify scalextric cars with aftermarket chassis, motors and run them without magnets. The older 6 car digital bases can be hooked up to pc and you can use race control systems. There are also clubs all over so that is a cheap way into it and they usually run wooden tracks.
You can get a large Arc pro layout for £300 with 6 cars and 6 controllers or run an analogue set up on Arc air for about half that. You could also run 6 car old digital system for as little as £150, best thing to do is look secondhand.
Guys theses truck modles are terrible. More detail needs to be added. The plain grey on the back just makes it look cheap.
Is the arc app any better now as most people use arc magic.
I didn't have issues for a while but the other day it just didn't work. Magic app works every single time without issue.

If scalextric don't move into the 21st century and remove the constrictive 'rail' system then they'll be gone in a few years.
That was first said forty years ago with RC booming. But Scalextric and many new slot makes still here.
It’s called slot car racing for a reason.
Scalextric .......too many dull, boring, blobby, bulky modern saloon cars. Where are the real classics plus the track is rubbish compared to the vastly superior NINCO.
Agree, they could do with a bigger range of classics. I guess they are missing out on your money. I think Scalextric are sitting firmly in the toy / collector market with the ARC pro as more serious option for racing. If only they had kept producing their performance chassis. It is still a great system overall for the price. I have carrera too and that is very nice and a beautiful build quality. I haven't tried Ninco but have heard good things.
