I have a customer that wants 300 stickers printed. Typical car bumper size stickers. But my issue is if a sticker pops out during the cutting, my Graphtec jams up. It's really annoying because I have to babysit my plotter and make sure none pop out during the cutting .
The size for me had been great. I would not get the 335, but I'd possibly get the 365. It would be nice to have the option of double-sided registration and the ink catcher. I do love the 315 and am still very happy with the purchase.

My tech suggested that you extend the media out of the curing unit. I find I have to do that on new rolls, if I haven't used the roll in a while, and cheap media. I also have to do it on banner media.

Installed today and all is GOOD? I think. Quick question regarding stickers. How much material before and after is needed? The install guy wasn't sure but ran off a lot saying that when it is in the cutter you need all the extra after the images. I've been watching your videos for a while and decided to get the hp latex printer i ended up buying the hp latex 360 and the hp latex 64 cutter used, but while setting up the cutter its unable to read my barcode, i did end up getting it to read it once but it offcut really bad, and now its not reading at all so im stuck haha do you do facetime calls where i can just pay you to help me

It sounds like you're not using the bar code. If that's the case, set the cutter right below the first black square on the right-hand side. Then hit play and it should find the marks.

Have you made sure the firmware is up-to-date and when was the last time you did an alignment? I'm not sure the steps, but you can find it in the settings menu of the cutter.

I started with the 315 because it has the opos sensors. That helps with the automation of head and media alignment. It also uses larger ink which is less expensive. There are a few other things, but I can't think of them right now. I wouldn't consider the 115, you'll make your money back quickly on the 315 or bigger.

Hello, I am using calendered monomeric self-adhesive vinyl of the avery dennison brand MPI 3500 series, what happens is that the plotter heats and encompasses the substrate during polymerization and when the print head moves it damages the impression. I've had that happen. The media is lifting and being scratched by the heads. Make sure you have the vacuum and heat set correctly. I'd also make sure you start with some media out of the curing unit so it has a little weight to help hold it down.

The 315, 335, and 365 included 2-day on-site install and training. I'm not sure how they're doing it now with what's happening, but that's how it was for me. The 115 is a self install, but I wouldn't recommend purchasing that printer.
the 115 is a good printer, it's just more expensive to run and slower. It's not much more to jump up to the 315. If you can only afford the 115, do it, but if you can spend a bit more, get the cheaper machine to run. They use different kinds of ink and print heads. Latex is water based and doesn't have to degas. If you are new and don't have a ton of work, I recommend latex over ecosolvent.

I usually print 2-4ft at a time so the cutter can re-register. The largest I've done is about 14ft but that was one large decal for the side of a truck.

And how are you dealing with it? after all, the displacement of the middle even on a half of millimeter makes some stickers defective.
shouldve explained what and why your are doing what your are doing. As a novice in digital printing and plotting this didnt teach me much other than try to being able track a mouse pointer a lot better. There is only one Ethernet port. You plug it in like any computer or network printer. As long as you have a basic network, it's plug and play.

It's likely from china and they are using cheap paper stickers. You can print stickers super cheap using adhesive paper and a toner based printer.

It's different for each media. I setup one today on my vlog. It should be out in about a week.

No, I don't have room for a laminator in my current office. I plan on getting one when I build my shop.

You need to reduce the cut pressure. If they fall out, you're cutting to much. I have to constantly change my settings based on how old my blade is.
I saw in other videos they make some kind of Bridge (1/8 inch or so) every 2 inches in the final contour cut.

I'm so happy I went with Latex over solvent. I was so helpful to not have to worry about it while I was still working full-time.

I stick my thumb in the front and I usually move the media after a few inches. I like to have about 4-5 inches at the end of the print for cutting.

There is a default advance when you use the cut feature. You can modify it in the settings. I usually just advance it a few inches then cut.

Yes, the 315 comes with flexi.

Yes, you can get a combo from Roland. The most affordable machine is the BN20. I just prefer latex and the Eco friendly, non toxic ink.

Try the alignment. You'll need black vinly or you'll need to print a black square.

There is a 5k deference in price between the HP115 and the HP365. Why did you start with the higher priced machine?

I don't have a graphtec, I have a summa. The largest item I've done is about 18', but I usually try and stay at 4' max.

run the opos alignment on the cutter. That usually fixes the issue.
Have you had problems with production manager crashing?
Yes. It's a known issue. Contact flexi/sai. They have a patch that will help. I still have occasional issues, but it's much better.
Did HP set you up for some training on how to use the software and equipment?
The 315, 335, and 365 included 2-day on-site install and training. I'm not sure how they're doing it now with what's happening, but that's how it was for me. The 115 is a self install, but I wouldn't recommend purchasing that printer.

Do you price per sq.foot or per piece usually?
I price per piece with a job minimum. I used to do roughly $4 per square on stickers, but I made a calculator instead.

I haven't found that to be the case. Plus it has a lot of advantages of not having to wait for degassing and voc gas, etc.
