NOOO THESE COMPILATIONS OF COMPLETE SERIES ARE PERFECT
(I just mean that having like the infinite world playthrough complete series is one of my favorite videos of pure doto for several hours like this!)
Facts
Next isbudokai 2 and 3 3 will take u a while hahahha 😅😊
It has 3 difficulties past very hard
Wow 2 hours this video
Playing this as a kid with no memory card😭 I know all the cutscenes by heart
You're a real one for playing without a memory card.
Same lol
You were really in the struggle neck then. I had 3 memory cards
lol same. My mom didn't consider it important enough to buy extra accessories so i had no memory cards for a long time.
@@Degalon damn 😥
@41:27
Fun Fact: Cell's voice "reverts" to his imperfect form voice when taunting and getting hurt because in the Japanese version of Dragon Ball Z, Cell's voice is always the same no matter what form he is in. In most of the earlier games where Cell is voiced, it's just a limitation because the developers did not re-record new lines for his pain and taunt lines because in the Japanese version there would be no difference.
I noticed that when I was younger playing Budokai 3
Headcanon: Cell’s voice is naturally always in his First Form Cell. But he pretends to have a Perfect voice in order to build up his “Perfection” complex
This game, flaws and all, was just the greatest thing for me at the time of its launch. The small details like the expression changes of the character pictures on the health bar after in fight transformations to the big things like the in depth story mode and that timeless GOAT soundtrack, it was all so gd good! Seeing people play it nowadays is just weird lol cause if you didn't play it before, of course it doesn't really hold up. But back then? It was perfection. At least to me.
Yeah this game still has mileage even if having to basically do an interpretive dance to pop off a special move was sorta goofy. The visuals are still amazingly ambitious, and though they probably didn't have the time to include more playable elements of the story and characters (i.e. Trunks not having his sword usable for Mecha Frieza in the campaign) or if at the time it was probably one of if not the only good mainstream Dragon Ball games at the time, making it possible for Legacy of Goku to be the powerhouse it was despite being on handheld, and the continuation of Budōôai to Xenoverse, Infinite World, FighterZ, and Budôkai 4 now as a reward for us buying into this so long ago. 2 decades plus 1 in my case. One of the major misses of this game was not having maybe more minigame sequences like steering Raditz into the SBC. It could have had you charge and throw the spirit bomb maybe fight Great Ape Vegeta, charge and beam struggle the Father-Son Kamehameha against Cell, etc. But at its core, still a great base for an amazing line of fighting games for all systems, warts and all.
my first dragonball game i think was budokai 2 and to this date i still remember the infinite ki with fusions being some of the most fun gameplay ive ever experienced.
Bro i was 6 years old and can honestly say it changed my life forever. I played this game Before I started watching dbz on toonami and at the time I thought it was a new show not even knowing dbz had Been over for 10 years lol. I'm 28 now and still play dbz and love everything about it. It's crazy because without this game I sole heartedly can say I wouldn't have fell in love with the series as a whole and anime in general. It seems everything was peak in that Era from games like gta smackdown vs raw dbz Def jam etc to shows like dbz yu yu Hakusho, the whole cartoon network and nickelodeon line up, to MTV bet wwe . Shit it may Be just nostalgia But that was a hell of a great childhood in my honest and humble opinion!
The first Budokai isn't a great fighting game. Compare it to other PS2 fighting games even from its time and there's a lot of competition that easily blows it out of the water.
But for us Dragon Ball fans (at least in North America), it was the best we had at the time. Then we started ones that were actually good (Budokai 3, Shin Budokai, Super DBZ) and now we have FighterZ holding its own with the big boys of the genre.
While the original Budokai is pretty basic compared to later games, those feats probably wouldn't be possible without it.
im pretty sure if it wasn't for this game i wouldn't be as into dragon ball
My favorite part of this series is how Doto always acts like he has zero idea what’s gonna happen by stating “no shot…” followed by exactly what’s gonna happen.
Acting like he's never seen Dragonball Z. 😂 It is a great part of the amusement of these videos.
DotoDoya: The guy who can react to a DBFZ attack that I don't even register, but can't dodge/interrupt a 3-second charging attack that always has the same audio/visual warning
I was wondering the same thing lol. He had plenty of time to either back step or side step the hits
Idk if you know the reason why the Kamehameha was originally yellow in Budokai, but it's due to the fact that the original color of the Kamehameha was yellow in the first officially colored version of the manga.
Show me some evidence because the anime came out before either of the Color versions.
@@TheTakato122I believe OP means the OG Dragon Ball manga
Not... technically true? The first colored Kamehamehas were white in the **colored sections** of the original manga. That was changed to yellow in the **full colour** version of the OG manga which was released later.
when did blue become the standard then?
@@slappydoodle probably when the OG Dragon Ball anime aired.

I vividly remember crying because at a point I couldn’t hold raditz in place, I deadass had to ask my uncle to help me and he did. I love this game for memories like this, I was like 6 or 7
With the recent announcement of Budokai Tenkaichi I knew.

This game got me firmly into DBZ. I saw an ad for the game in the Shōnen Jump that featured Goku just winning the battle on Namek and escaping using Frieza's ship. I was so sold. And the cutscenes in this game are just so damn solid. Dev time went more to the combat in 2 and going forward, but this was basically Abridged before Abridged, as far as how faithfully the animation plays like the show, with the bonus of being interactive so I could play these fights out personally.
It’s a shame that the original music composer was accused of plagiarism because the original music of this game was absolute God tier
Facts. Gives Metallica style vibes
@@skylightts2292pretty sure there was a few of their songs
He wasn't accused, he was found out. "Accused" implies we don't know for sure. It's been definitively proven he flat out stole almost all of his songs, some of which are down to the exact beat and note. That being said, it doesn't mean it's not a good soundtrack. Just a stolen one. Like, I watch Kai with either the Faulconer score or the Yamamoto score. Because it's still good. It's just important to recognize that almost all of it **is** completely stolen from other artists and composers. Which funnily enough is **why** it's good lmao. Which is a shame.
@@skylightts2292it’s because he stole from Metallica. Directly.
45:31 Cell had the combo done too do the spirit bomb twice in this attempt but he chose not too. What a gentleman
insanely good. practically no other dbz game did the cut-scenes so well. also you can unlock "super trunks 2" which is the form beyond what super vegeta uses, but before ssj2
12:34 Right as Doto says it the way it cuts to vegeta yelling is so hilarious 😂
This is my first interaction with DragonBall as a series.
I quickly found out that the Anime was airing at 7:30 on YTV every night. Instant fan
From not knowing him to my top 3 content creators in 5 months. Crazy how life works
Crazy how doto is like top 5 humans
Exactly this. To not knowing either of them even existed to Doto and Deion easily being two of my favourite content creators in about 6 months or so. Dino annoys me, but if deion and doto are in the video, I'll watch it still. Videos with JUST deion and doto are perfect every time.
@@markky3050 oddly enough when i first started watching them i didnt like rhymestyle at all and now i cant imagine many better groups than these 3 idiots
Those cutscenes are so cool, you got 20 year old stuff like this, and then today we have screenshots of the anime as a story mode in Storm connections...
Thats why if anybody buys that connections game they are losing that game is so half baked
Funny how you say this but the same developer of that game made DragonBall Kakarot which arguably has the best cutscenes out of any DragonBall game lol
@@TheKreator98 infinite world come close
@@TheKreator98Infinite world and Budokai have the best cutscenes as original DBZ games, kakarot is the best out of all the newest games for sure.
This was such a game-changer back in the day. I only wish it had included the Buu saga
It’s funny that the main menu included SSJ2 goku vs Majin Vegeta
Doto's inability to land specials is so funny to me. He can do complex combos in fighterz, that uses quarter and half rotations of the joystick. But he can't do a simple forward punch/kick, or push energy button.
For real, I got annoyed that he gets cool moves he could try in each character and form but just do all the battles the same, blocking and punching
08:43 yep that is not a continuous kamehameha .... That is..."Vegeta's technique®"
I was surprised the continuous Kamehameha or continuous turtle destruction wave is actual supposed to be multiple beams, but it sounds like it would be long lasting kamehameha.
These full series/game videos are 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥!

I remember spending literally months trying to beat this game as a kid 😂 Radditz alone took weeks to beat his mini game
Rip gokus toes xD
@@Doceli-dg3cn Rip the many controllers this game has claimed over the years 😂

Hope you and rhyme had an absolute blast on your trip! You guys deserve it and i cant wait for some fresh content when it comes out
Just in case you play Budokai 2, charge is X(hold) back back(hold), transform is R1+R2. Charged moves can't be blocked, but cpu's usually read you and grab. Budokai 2 added beam clashes and shortcuts for supers so you don't have to do the full combo to shoot a Kamehameha. Love the videos bro!
Holy crap Doto i love everything that you're doing with this, i appreciate the work you put into this stuff!
I love how we get an hour into gameplay, and Doto still hasnt chosen to look up powering up his ki. Or switching up the combos lol
this game was so dope back in the day. Had it since 02. This game was leagues ahead of the majority of anything out there with attention to details and great game play
Man watching you play this game brought back some memories, this was my very first dragon ball game and I loved playing the tournament mode and story for hours. Actually made me nostalgic.
I went frame by frame and I think the highest origin that the Nappa execution beam could have had is Vegeta's belly button. But it was probably a cock beam.
Slight plot inconsistencies, but I'm liking the game tbh. Vegeta shouldn't have had the scouter after killing Nappa, he crushes it in Nappa's face. Also, Vegeta couldn't sense Gohan's power level. He learned about sensing power between his whoopin and Namek.
Notice that Doto NEVER sidestep, like, at all.
Sidestepping is actually useful if you want to dodge melee attacks, especially the charged attack. You can also use it to possibly dodge some or most ki blast attacks such as Kamehameha or Galick Gun.
The button for it is simple: double-tap down to dodge right, up to dodge left. And don't worry: there's no jumping nor crouching in this game.
Thanks Doto. I love this series so much!!
12:48 Vegeta really whipped out his phone at light speed, he didn't want any more smoke lol.
This game was absolutely mind-boggling when it came out. The graphics aged a LOT better than I thought they would.
This game was my introduction to dragon ball. It doesnt get much more nostalgic than this
I remember getting the original Dragonball Budokai on my PS2 as a kid for Christmas.
It was my first PS2 game and I love Dragonball and this game is awesome.
The story cutscenes are awesome and the alternate unique story twists were cool too.
I still consider it to be one of my favorite Dragonball games aside from Dragonball FighterZ.
That was the one part about this game I never understood the whole not keeping transformations thing losing Sayian form Frieza losing his transformation mid fight. Glad that got fixed in later games. Very fun video as always
As a child who owned this game, I genuinely thought that the series ended with Goku just staying dead forever after Cell was defeated.
I absolutely love this game. It was the very first dragon ball Z game I ever played.
It does go a bit fast through the cut scenes and story. Though but pretty well detailed over all I think. Thank you for playing it
Can't wait till he plays budokai 3 although infinite world is the same game 😅
Just imagine doing the raditz special beam joystick thing at 6 years old 🤣 that was me.. I was STRUGGLING
This game was wayyyy ahead of its time. The cut scenes. Voiceovers. Gameplay. It was great during that time.
The OST when Goku transformed into Super Saiyan was SICK!!!!
Final Decisive battle from burst limit. A true banger
Dotos really chronicalizing his whole channel huh? Im cool with that
I gotta say, Raditz is my favorite DBZ skill.
Oh yes, the ultimate skill 'Raditz'.
I’d love to see you go through budokai 2. It was mad underrated imo and super unique
It's cool that when you beat Cell with SSJ2 the first time, he reverted back to form 2.
Vegeta was *very excited* to kill Nappa.
I remember playing this game in boarding school in 2003. The single player isnt very long but there was 8 kids in my house and we played this shit out of the pvp in this along with the OG Tony Hawk, Mario Kart 64, and Perfect Dark. What a time to be a kid!
Literally the moment he picked Android 17 I thought I was listening to Android 17.
We’ve been feasting on these comps good
Might play this on the GameCube again, still wanna 100% it with every breakthrough
Honestly this and FighterZ are my 2 fav Dragon Ball games by leaps and bounds if Fighterz did a story mode like this than it would have been a LEGENDARY GAME
I still love this game to this day. Hercule is the true champ.
Man here in the beginning you touched my childhood man you went deep I remember the days staying up late earound 10 just enjoying the gamelan and I am only 13 now I had my ps2 and I still do I'm not really into the ps4 I just like cod and dragon ball games thanks for going into the old days doto your are showing the kids yalls childhood keep it up
this game was my childhood, and hearing someone so genuinely enjoying this game is heartwarming (or you could be pissed idk i’m at frieza)
Finally something to sleep to thank you doto. 😊
that special beam cannon was the bane of my existence when i was 4
DB videos from @DotoDoya are One of the best things to happen to DB fans, especially DBFZ. Great stuff as Always🔥💪🏼🙏🏻
This game and Budokai 3 were some of the only games I 100%ed when I was younger :') Good memories
I just recently went through the original budokai series and the one thing that i always remember are the bad translations of the death moves or as we know as super attacks now a days early ps2 dbz games was the best will forever be in my heart
Man I used to struggle with this game as a kid 😭🤣 I’d get so angry I would just cry in frustration Lol
Im never gunna forget the moment goku told gohan to throw it back
To this day this game is more graphically accurate than all the games that came after until Kakarot i think. Only game where it shows Raditz and Goku impaled by the special beam cannon and also Piccolo missing an arm in the cutscene
That "Nice combo, do they make it for men?" had me roaring! I need this kind of commentation on the Tekken world tours!
i played this game before i had actually watched all of Z (i was like 4 or 5 at the time) so the different songs and especially Goku’s SSJ transformation stuck in my head like the real DBZ moments alongside the actual anime lmao. classic
Edit: Can we all take a second to remember that raditz could dodge special beam cannon (light speed) but couldn't dodge Gohan's headbutt!?
28:56 This Cutscene Was On The Spectrum Of YTP Typpa Funny🤣
Your commentary is something else Doto, I don't know how your mind reads "throw it back Gohan" that way lmao
“I’m back baby, where’s Frieza at !?” 🤣
oh the days me and my brother had taking turns and raging when fighting cell.... especially when Mr. Satan stepped into the ring....
The memories! I LOVED this game.
this was the dragon ball game i played as a little one
Once I revert myself into an egg, I must bury myself underground for three years
Budokai 3 was my first fighting game and i still sing its praises to this day
I know this is just the game variant of a truly emotional show, but my favorite piece of Dragonball music anywhere is in this game in the form of Goku's Farewell. Sends shivers down my spine and makes me tear up a little bit when he's talking about staying dead since he'd be better off protecting Earth from his challengers that way. Great, great music and cutscenes, this game walked so every other DBZ fighter in the post-3D age could run.
how could you forget the iconic line "Balls! Balls!"
This game is awesome, the AI was insanely had in the tournament mode.
This game was so great literally played it all the time as a kid. You should definitely play budakai 2
The blisters I had on my hands from spinning the analog sticks during burst mode were brutal as a kid
My childhood!
So i have never watched dbz as a kid.
For the longest time this game was the ONLY dbz exposure i had.
It was really crazy, but i loved this game so much as a kid.
The plot moved so fast that when i watched the show, i was so amazed by how drawn out the show was.
Frieza's 5 minutes actually being... 5 minutes?!!
Nostalgic vibes! One of my favorite game cube games!
I have to say, I absolutely love all your commentary in these videos!
With the recent announcement of Budokai Tenkaichi-
I think the Vegeta What If is supposed to have different lines, it's been years since I played it but I played it with Japanese voices and the subtitles explaining the Nappa situation were completely different which I didn't expect the subtitles to change based on which dub you set the voices too so I was very confused at first. I think the original implication was supposed to be that Goku accidentally killed Nappa when he broke his back for this What If, and Yajirobe's reasoning for not joining changes slightly to "no way, I'll just end up like that Saiyan" and Vegeta yells that his name was Nappa reminiscent of Goku's first Super Saiyan transformation.
This was very nostalgic thanks for this video
"Throw it back gohan" had me on the floor when I played this and in kakarot😂😂😂
Doto logic: easy is too easy hard is too hard. I'll just keep it at hard instead of switching to medium or learning how to use any other attacks.
The dbz games budokai and tenkaichi were incredible on ps2. Literally playing Tenkaichi 3 on my phone
