I didn't know you hadn't met Mike till GS1 - that was the first time I had met him, and I thought he had been to your place before, the way he was doing all the switching and helping out. AND I can't believe you have footage of me opening the hotel door! ♥ I'm crying because that was the EXACT moment I met him . (BTW I had just woken up from a jet lag nap so I was out of it lol). Loved this tribute. We love you Mike and we love you Henning. ♥
Ive been in shock the past few days since I heard. He was a super kind person. One of the few who always went out of his way to make me feel like I was included in the guitar community.
The time I spent with Mike at guitar events were full of laughter - a huge personality and a wonderful friend. I will miss him greatly. Life is cruel and unfair sometimes, but somehow we have to keep on going, stay strong in the face of misfortune, and present positivity to those we meet. We loved Mike for his smile and attitude, the best thing we can do to remember him is carry on spreading that same love and joy.
Love this tribute mate ❤ Em and I just balled our eyes out to that song. So great to see the clips of him on top form at 42GS1. Other than yourself we were the only two channels who've been to every Gear Street. The 4 star club. Thanks for giving us the opportunities to hang and become good mates. Now there's a giant Mike shaped hole in the community. It won't be the same without him. RIP and keep smiling Mike. Love you Henning ❤
This was a wonderful tribute, Henning, and I really appreciate you making it. I was up late last night watching old videos I did with Mike. It really hit me then.
What a beautiful human being. He'll be missed SO MUCH. Thank you for this video Henning, love y'all, can't wait to give everybody a great/big/giant/fat hug and celebrate Mike. So happy to being able to hang with him last year, a blessing I'll always be grateful for...💜
I had the opportunity to meet him briefly, but ask to feel his energy and good vibes, even knowing that he was leaving, he always had a good mood. It's all very unfair.
Nice tribute Henning. Mike helped my channel immensely and gave me the "Here's Jonny" tagline. He was a fantastic guy and there will never be another like him.
This is the first I've heard of this person. I've watched this whole video, the love and admiration is overwhelming . You've touched a strangers heart and within 28 mins reduced them to tears. The song is beautiful (very Beatles in the best way) and I feel like he meant so much to a lot of people, more than I'll ever know. Thank you for sharing HP. RIP Mike
Had to leave a second comment about this. Watching your obvious love for Mike in this video, and your mention of all the videos we have of him, made me think. It's no consolation for his family, but it must be somewhat nice for them to see how much he touched so many people through his work. How many of us will leave this world without leaving behind any mark or anyone to keep us alive in their memories? Mike has his family: his real world one and the one he built here on the internet. He'll be remembered by so many people.
I’m sad I didn’t have the opportunity to meet Mike. Based on all the love he has received, he must have been an amazing person. I’m so sorry for your loss and the guitar/UA-cam community’s loss. Best wishes Henning
Matey. What a lovely tribute and that song of his is very special. I know Mike through the Arts back here in the UK and for you to take the time to produce this VT is a wonderful honour and testimony to how passionate he was about his music and love of all thing Guitars! Thank you.
Was really sad watching Mike get taken from us bit by bit over the last year or so. He'll be missed by the YT guitar community. Spoke to him once in a video call, and wish I could have met him in the real world. He seemed a genuinely nice guy. RIP Mike
I am sorry for your loss. I did not know him or his channel, but really felt the joy he brought to you from the video clips you shared. I could also feel your grief. I am so sorry. Sending you a big hug. (Edited: Oh that song he wrote for his kids. Now I am crying!)
Mike is a pretty special person. It is wonderful he has a lot of great friends like you Henning. It reminds me that we all need to be good to each other. I greatly appreciate the video this morning.
Henning, you wear your heart on your sleeve, and that is one of the many reasons I watch your videos. I think this video is a fitting eulogy for Mike (may he be jamming with all the greats). Peace and love to Mike's family. Love ya man, keep being you 🙏
Thank you for this tribute to our friend. I love you Henning. There's a lot of stuff I could say about Mike. He was always kind to me and just a wonderful member of this community. I feel lucky to have known him even in the small way I did.
Mike was one of the kindest and coolest people I've ever on UA-cam. Rest in Peace Mike. Condolences to all of the family and closest friends. Nice job Henning.❤🌹❤️✌️😎
We all wish to have friends like you Henning. Mike is lucky to be memorialized by so many and like this video shows, everyone was lucky to meet Mike. I have lost 18 friends and comusicians since 1999 and its always sad. Soft and caring men like us, we dont escape the depths of feels on a lose like this. God Bless his family in their immensely deep missing.
Even though I never met Mike. In all the videos that I've seen him in. Shows his true passion and love for his fellow man. And his upbeat attitude towards everything good and bad. Always had that smile that said in no words that everything is going to be alright. I know it's difficult to say goodbye. So I say until then. Love you Mike!
He was truly one in a billion. Unbelievable. What a loss. I watched his video where he talked about his diagnosis, and I wrote a comment about being down and that I felt sorry for him and the world and that it’s unfair… and “that guy”, Mike, he uplifted me. That’s, for what I think, the guy that he was and is, will be. Positive, good hearted, kind, nice - unbelievable. Love you Mike!
My defining Mike moment; 42GS2 ...flat out lying to the other Brits and telling them how the UA-camrs all helped out switching videos and doing random things to help ...so they did it because it was Mike telling them.
Mike's channel was awesome. He was such a great guy, very helpful and knowledgeable. Wish I'd known him personally, he always had a smile for everyone... there's been so much loss lately...my friend John Regan (Peter Frampton, Ace Frehely, David Bowie, Mick Jagger) passed a couple weeks ago, amazing bassist and such a good person. R.I.P. Mike 😞🙏🙏
Only met him the once (with you at his house) but had watched for years. He radiated love when you spoke to him, such a lovely man and such a cruel illness. Thanks for the personal account with the behind the scenes stuff, it was lovely to see.
Of course I didn't know Mike, only through his channel. But I sit here with tears in my eyes watching this, you did a good job Henning! We had a member in our open mic community that passed away with ALS, and he also did not want to put his family through too much hardship as the disease progressed. Thank you!
Aww man, this is beautiful mate, and you broke me with this video as well. Perfectly put as well. There are some horrible people this could have happened to. But no, it happened to one of the nicest people you could ever meet.
Beautiful tribute Henning, thank you so much. We will always miss Mike, he left unfillable hole in our lives and nothing can fill that emptiness. But he also left so much wonderful memories. And he taught us so well how to be simple really nice person. Thank you for for everything Mike. We will always remember you and cherish every beautiful memory you left us with. Rest In Peace dear Mike
I love you, Henning! Thanks so much for all you do and especially a big thanks for letting me come to Gear Street Quattro... I got to see my "brother" Mike one last time. He's my hero and inspiration, as are you, my friend! There will be bells!!! Wherever he is, he's thinking of us and smiling calling us a bunch of C___s... for crying, etc... and Mike... we'll see you on the other side, brother! Hope to see you again soon, too... my brother, Henning! My love to your mom, your and better half, and your awesome brother too! ❤ 😎🤘🎸💔😢🕊🕯
Thank goodness we have the numerous UA-cam videos to remember him with. We can spread his joy and special memories with them. His CGS channel and his many appearances on other channels are a body of magnificent contribution.
God bless you Henning, you are beautiful. I remember watching a couple of Mike's videos. I like his song for his children there, very pretty. He was cool for sure. I'm so sorry for your loss.
Mike was the type of person we should all strive to be like. So Humble and Caring, such a Loving individual. He will be missed by many, so glad we have videos from his channel and other creators channels to remember just how sweet of a soul he truly was. Until we meet again Mike, Love you Sir! Thank you for this video Henning ❤
Thanks for this Henning. He did so much for so many people, a kind, friendly, altruistic guy... I wish I knew him better. The comments here, and all over socials say so much, your video says so much, but that video of him singing is so special. ❤ Thanks for making this.
Thanks for this Henning.. he was always talking about you and Gear Street.. he absolutely loved coming over and having fun and talking guitars with you. He loved his UA-cam community and everyone he met through it.
I've chatted with Mike many times online. We didn't always agree on everything but who does. Lovelly bloke. So sorry for his wife and kids loss. We lost my Uncle to Motor Neurone a good few years ago. RIP Mike.
Watched loads of his videos ages ago, his was the only one being honest about Chinese guitars and showing what you could get. Seemed a real nice guy, and condolences to his family and friends.
Mike was such a class man! I never met him, but he truly seemed genuine and positive, and would often interact with his viewers in the comments. This one hurts for sure. RIP Mike!
A very sad loss. I enjoyed his videos, I especially enjoyed his interview with Brad The Guitologist which was, if I remember correctly, a live stream they both did together talking about his health, life in general and of course guitar gear. It was great. I briefly chatted with him once or twice about my rig on his UA-cam community page where I mentioned my Stoneham (Sunn) Model T clone & a silly powerful 4x12, I believe he was asking what set ups we all use. Such a very fine, honest and friendly gentleman. R.I.P, Mike. Prayers and condolences are with you, family and friends. God bless you all. 🙏🏻
Condolences Henning, and to his family and friends 🙏 its so obvious that Mike touched so many may he rest easy 😢 thanks Henning for a touching tribute 🙏 ❤
I didnt realize Mike could sing like that too. What a multitalented and good ass dude. Now im crying too dammit. Thanks Mike 😢😂 so bittersweet. I also agree with you Henning we should hug our male friends and tell them we love them. Thanks man 🙏
Condolences to all of you who were his friends and family. I did not know him but I enjoyed his works and based on the community reaction, I know he was a good man. ❤ RIP Mike
25:19 "...no maskulin-man-bullshit...if you love someone just freakin´ tell him...". That's true. We need more love in this world. Don't focus on the things which separates us. Go everybody (including me in the first place) and focus & enjoy on the good things we have in common. That's the only territory where love can grow. Thanks Henning, this Clip was emotional. I can't help but I have cried massively during Mike's Song "Carry me". Thumbs up for this Clip and Thumbs up for Mike! Great man!!!
Mike was always the person answering the comments on his videos which shows his personal response to people as such a class act he will be sorely missed in this community. All my love to his family in this sad time. R I P Mike Milton (a true great)
I didn't know of the CGS guitar channel until now, I wouldn't pretend I do... but this hits hard because my mother also suffers from ALS. I have tons and tons of sympathy for Mike and everybody close to him, knowing what its like being close to somebody that is ailed by this. I can only say that it takes massive amounts of courage to fight something like that, and the swirl of emotions for everybody involved is some of the most intense I believe people can experience: the conflict between hoping it ends soon and hoping they stick around as long as possible is a daily challenge to internally overcome just being her son, and I can only imagine she feels the same conflict tenfold. I hope that Mike is in a better place now, and that all of his friends, family, yourself, and all regular CGS viewers find some solace in knowing that the immense suffering has now past its apex, and we can honor Mike and his career from here on out. I'm glad to have a whole new channel to binge, Mike seems like a gracious and entertaining host! RIP Mike
New subscriber here (I first checked out your videos on the Line 6 POD Go, as I was interested in buying). I knew Mike back when we were teenagers dreaming of being rock stars. I always looked up to him as a guitarist because he had so much confidence and wasn't afraid to experiment with new techniques and tones. We lost touch over the years but reconnected on Facebook a couple of years back and latterly I was privileged to voice a couple of his CGS videos for him after visiting him at home in Sussex back in September. I echo everything you said in your heartfelt tribute. He was without doubt one of the nicest human beings you could ever wish to meet and the way he took on ALS / MND with the love and support of his amazing family was a lesson to all of us. His smile really did light up any room and it is touching to see the love and respect shared by his friends in the UA-cam guitar community. Keep on rocking!
Thank-you Henning , I'm a subscriber to both yours and Mike's channels, I'm just as emotional as you over this sad news , rest assured Mike willnever be forgotten in the utube guitar community.
Thanks for this video Henning. I never met “Mike” personally but his announcement a few years ago and passing now has had a profound impact in me. Although I have seen a few posts on FB about Mike’s passing, I’m a bit surprised no one is “speaking” about this in dedicated tribute videos such as this one (and Ben Coombs') This is more important than anything that came out of NAMM. I thank you for giving us a space to grieve together. Much love and as Mike used to always say "take good care"
This is a beautiful tribute. I loved Mike. I always hoped I could meet him in person. I have been homebound since July 2019 and ill with cancer and some other mysterious issues since 2018, not counting being disabled physically and having a TBI and having major medical issues like CRPS from a 2003 accident at a summer job just after finishing college. Guitar is something I picked up as a form of physical, occupational, cognitive, and recreational therapies - and it’s a miracle I’ve managed to learn to play anything at all let alone being an intermediate level player. Mike is one of the first guitar channels I latched onto ad I began my guitar quest in March 2020. I often sent him messages and comments. He always made me feel included and important. I enjoyed his livestreams. Even when his voice failed him, I enjoyed watching his ever present smile and still laughed at his silliness. I have a similar personality where I’m always genuinely smiling and fighting to get through really tough stuff, so I could really relate to Mike despite having different diagnoses. I do hope to see Mike’s channel and missions continue. I hope you’ll keep the Hendrix guitar alive, lol. Do investigative stories like that. Keep reviewing stuff. Do clip videos to remember him and his work from time to time. Keep selling his merch to benefit his causes and family. Get that charity benefit going. Keep his memory alive at GearStreet 42. Do a video to tell us how that spot on AI voice was made last month, which might help many others in the guitar community and beyond. Sell his song (which I recall Mike posting once a while back and enjoyed thoroughly) to raise money for his causes. Travel to places Mike would have wanted to go. It can be a fun, lighthearted experience just as it’s always been. There is a major need in the guitar community that maybe you guys can do in Mike’s honor. I’d love to know who I can speak with about my idea. I’ve tried to approach some UA-camrs about it before, but they probably didn’t even see it. If you could let me know the best way to reach out, I’d love to share my idea. I think Mike would have loved it and wanted to get involved had he been able. Again, thanks for the beautiful tribute. Perhaps others will also post more tributes online. I hope his family sees how much Mike was loved by so many of us. I will never forget the impact he’s had on me personally.
Condolences Henning. This was a very touching tribute. Thank you for the great content! Your vision and drive to make things happen is what makes this community what it is! While you're around to see it, I just wanna say Thank You! 🤘🤘🤘
Thanks for that tribute. I'm sure Mike would appreciate it. I only discovered his channel fairly recently and saw how his health situation was progressing. No idea he was this far, so this is a shock to me.
RIP Mike and condolences to Mike's family and his extended YT family. While I wasn't a regular viewer of his channel, he popped up enough in my feed that he came into the circle of guitar UA-camrs I trusted. And BTW - I LIKED his videos on the Monteray strat. MND sucks. We have an charity here in Australia, linked to our major football code, that fund raises for a cure for this horrible disease. I am so sorry for your loss Henning.
Hey there my name is also Mike. Mike and I used to have personal chats back when I 1st started my channel and was so knowledgeable about guitars and I enjoyed his wisdom he shared and was so kind. R.I.P Mike, you are definitely missed!
I met Mike from another UA-camr, Lance Moss Tv. Lance would have Google hangouts and Mike would lighten up the hangout with his stories. Mike never had a bad thing to say, always had a smile, and always had a great attitude. Mike will be missed by all. Mike was loved by all. Great tribute.
Mein Beileid! Ich kannte ihn nicht, aber du hast seine besondere Persönlichkeit sehr emotional nahegebracht. Und das Lied für seine Kinder ist unglaublich…was gibt es tiefergehendes?!
I really enjoyed Mike's channel. He seemed such a lovely genuine guy. It was so cruel the way he was taken from us. But he kept fighting and posting til the end. My thoughts and condolences go out to his family and his many friends
So sad to hear this news. I never personally met Mike, but followed his channel since the early days. Mike always came across as a real positive and genuine guy with a big smile. If the testimony of those who did know him is anything to go by I'm quite correct in that feeling. It deeply saddened me when Mike told us about his health issue a while back. This news hits hard. My thoughts are with his family. I'm so sorry for your loss.
So sad, sorry for the loss of a GREAT GUY, he is DEFINITELY UP IN HEAVEN, R.I.P. !!! Thoughts and prayers for his family, may GOD BLESS THEM FOREVER!!!
Henning, you've done a great job honouring Mike's memory. It's lovely that we can remember him this way, and his part in the UA-cam guitar community entertaining us.
Mike was such a good friend to me, we'd repeatedly try to make plans to make videos, but life got in the way, he even used quite a fair bit of my music i composed for his channel, theres a video he recorded of him jamming over a song of mine, ill have to find the video at some point. But even when his health was declining, he was more bothered about making sure my mental health was in a good place and that things were gonna be ok with me. He always took time to talk on google hangouts/chat or email and quite often video chats, we would video for hours on end. He was always there for me when i needed someone to talk to. He was always a man of his word and showed integrity. Watching your video Henning, has brought me to tears as it just shows what a great man ge was and the impact he had on everyone's lives. A giant amongst men. A legacy like no other A friend We love you Mike and will never forget you😢❤
I didn't know you hadn't met Mike till GS1 - that was the first time I had met him, and I thought he had been to your place before, the way he was doing all the switching and helping out. Mike was a true gift to the world. Rest easy buddy I hope his family is doing ok.

This was a wonderful tribute, Henning, and I really appreciate you making it. I was up late last night watching old videos I did with Mike. It really hit me then.
Hi Steve, you and Mike were both the Chibson inspiration 10 years ago
Thank you Henning for doing this. Turning on the camera and pouring out your heart is never easy. RIP Mike, much love.
Sometimes words just aren't enough. Mike will be truly missed.
What a beautiful human being. He'll be missed SO MUCH. Thank you for this video Henning, love y'all, can't wait to give everybody a great/big/giant/fat hug and celebrate Mike. So happy to being able to hang with him last year, a blessing I'll always be grateful for...💜

RIP Mike, will miss his passion, humility and above all humour. Take care of yourself as well Henning.
I’m sad I didn’t have the opportunity to meet Mike. Based on all the love he has received, he must have been an amazing person. I’m so sorry for your loss and the guitar/UA-cam community’s loss. Best wishes Henning

Thanks for doing this Henning. Mike will be missed so much. Love an thoughts to all his family and friends. RIP Mike ❤😢
I didnt realize Mike could sing like that too. What a multitalented and good ass dude. Now im crying too dammit. Thanks Mike 😢😂 so bittersweet. I also agree with you Henning we should hug our male friends and tell them we love them. Thanks man 🙏
R.I.P Mike... my condolences...
Condolences to all who were close to him. He was one of the first in my UA-cam gear journey. After I purchased a Chibson.
I have/had friends like this. I have years of memories of laughing our asses off, many times for no reason! Thanks for stirring up some more!
Only knew him through UA-cam but thought he was a decent stand up very nice chap. Sad much to young. Your tribute shows the love. ❤
RIP Mike
His song was beautiful! Thanks for posting this video.
I will miss him. XOXO He was Love and Light. Just a lovely lovely man.
Rest easy, Mike. I watched him since the start. Noticed the slurring before he told the world. He will be missed.
"Nature is fu***** cruel" true statement! :( I am sorry for the loss and condolences to the family. Rest in peace!
Beautiful job & words about CGS Henning !!!
So sorry to hear about this :( I wish I got to meet him sooner but I am glad to have spent a bit of time with him last year at 42GS
Can't stop watching this video and reading all the wonderful comments! Thank you. Love Mike's wife, Sarah xxx
Thank you Sarah! The comments keep coming and they are all filled with love, just like he was!
I seen China Mike videos before I seen any other guitar content on UA-cam. R.I.P Mike
Thanks Henning for this obituray and to MIke for giving this world a little bit of positivity. Rest in peace.
Thank you HENNING FOR DOING THIS I MISS MIKE EVERY SUNDAY MIKE MILTON WAS A GIANT 🕯️🙏🏻
That song should be a top hit mikes voice is absolutely amazing, thank you again great job as usual MR HENNING ❤️🤘🎸
Mike was the first guitar youtube channel I subscribed to. Didn't know him but he will be missed. RIP Mike.
Mein Beileid! Ich kannte ihn nicht, aber du hast seine besondere Persönlichkeit sehr emotional nahegebracht. Und das Lied für seine Kinder ist unglaublich…was gibt es tiefergehendes?!
He was so friendly and so Welcoming! He will be greatly missed!
I really enjoyed Mike's channel. He seemed such a lovely genuine guy. It was so cruel the way he was taken from us. But he kept fighting and posting til the end. My thoughts and condolences go out to his family and his many friends
What a lovely tribute to a genuinely nice man. He is missed by the community already.
I am sure if a thing like heaven exists, Mike is up there... asking Jimmy about the Monterey Strat.
He was a good guy, just a really good guy.
Someone needs to do something with this song. It needs releasing to help his family and. for his memory.
Beautiful tribute to such a wonderful man in music. Prayers to him and to his family and to you.
Very sad news. Thanks for this Wonderful and moving tribute to Mike.
He was always so enthusiastic and geniune, evean after he lost his ability to speak, he kept making videos. Rest in peace brother.
A legacy like no other
A friend
We love you Mike and will never forget you😢❤
