after his exit from gloryhammer i was afraid he would end up in some basic bitch band, this is nonsense and i LOVE IT
Oh, if you look at their credits, this is an all-star band. Drummer is from Rhapsody of Fire, Thalia, the first guitarist, is from Frozen Crown, and Seebulon, second guitarist and co-songwriter, is from Orden Ogen. All fantastic in their own right.
@@freedantheeternal Its times like this that big labels delivers the goods as I suspect this band was created by Napalm who didn't want to lose Thomas's talent.

@@Khazandar Wasn't one thing with Gloryhammer also that Chris wanted to tour a LOT more since he is single and his bands are his only occupation, while Thomas' day job is being a notary at home? Maybe they going to book a couple gigs, check them off if schedules match up, but don't go on big tours where they are on the road for weeks.
The website shows a 5 day trip in April, 2 in June, 4 in Juli, 2 in August.
April would be 3 days of 'Time off', June are on a Friday and a Saturday, respectively, Juli are a bit more chaotic, August are on Saturdays.
So it might be that 'Angus McSix' is a band that respects the real life and schedules of the band members. Thalia and Manu are apparently 'Ex' members of their bands (Wasn't Thalia kicked from her previous band?), so they might have more time, but Seeb probably needs to fit it around his band. Who has ONE event listed for May on his website.

IIRC, the reason he doesn't tour much with GH is because Alestorm has higher priority, and he can't tour with them if he's on tour with Alestorm (assuming they're not touring together, like they are now). That's why he has Michael Barber filling in for him on tour when he's not available..
Thomas' RL schedule may have been one reason for kicking him out of GH (his poor live performances might have been another). Rumor has it that Chris was frustrated that Thomas wasn't available when they were supposed to go on tour in 2021, so he hired a new singer and planned on throwing Thomas out afterwards.
I don't know why the other two members were yeeted from their old bands. Maybe their touring schedules got a bit too hectic, and they wanted a bit more freedom. This is why half of Sabaton quit and formed Civil War right after they recorded Carolus Rex, so maybe this is another such case?
Seeb's involvement with OO may cause conflict once this band starts touring for real, so perhaps they'll hire a stand-in for him when he's unavailable, too. I mean, unless he needs to talk, they can just hire anyone with a similar physique and instrument to fill in for him. And even then, they can just play his voice through a tape, while the person on stage lip-syncs.

There's landing on your feet, and then there's Thomas WInkler, who didn't even land, he just started flying.
He jumped off the boat and fired up his legendary enchanted jetpack
Galaxies swarming behind him, nebulas lying ahead, this can only mean, he has arrived into space.
I think the best part of this whole project is that you can tell how much fun everyone's having with it. Thom looks like God's goofiest goober singing his silliest songs as usual but even Seeb, who is literally invisible behind the costume, looks like he's having a better time than most bands' front men. It's just a joy to watch and listen to.
Exactly. I feel like people focus too fuckin much on the band dramas. I loved the hell out of this new video cause of how absolutely goofy it was. Just over all looks super fun. And we have TWO bands now with excellent stories to tell.

When he took up the McSix concept, it was...a bit odd. But I'm really enjoying this more than what Gloryhammer has put out since he departed. There is just something about the slightly campy but terribly earnest energy he brings that is infectious, and as others have said, he put together an awesome lineup.
I haven't listened to everything from the Return to the Kingdom of Fife album yet, but the only thing I've really liked from Gloryhammer since Tom left is Keeper of the Celestial Flame of Abernathy.
@@ShadowtheRonin The ending song has several parts that are really good, too. The Robot Prince of Auchtertool's refrain, and Zargothrax's mad call to the "slaves of the army of Angus" to be "free" by giving their souls to him and rising as his undead army of robots, are both really fun.
