For those who don’t know yet: The mansion itself is just a front. The ride itself takes place in a ride building behind the mansion. You can’t see it from the park. The stretching room is really an elevator. The portrait hall is really a tunnel that goes under the train tracks. The loading dock takes you into the ride building itself. Same goes for the tunnel that takes you back to the park.
Just watched the new movie and I gotta say its cool how they worked all elements of this attraction in the movie and build a story around it. Even the "ghosts will follow you home" part etc.
I'm watching this video because I just watched the movie, too. I liked it so much better than the Eddie Murphy one, mostly because it stayed true to the actual ride. Being a fan of the ride itself, I enjoyed seeing it come to life. Like you, I like how they not only made visual references to the ride, but quoted the ride as well (the intro, "Welcome, Foolish Mortals...", etc.), without making it sound cliche. The Hatbox Ghost made a great villain, and I'm glad they gave him a backstory. Speaking of backstory, I like the one they gave for the Mansion itself, since Disney has had multiple versions of it over the years. However, there are a few things I wish they would've included. Firstly, I would've liked to have seen their interpretation of the Ghost Host, as well as his backstory, since it's not really known. Also, I was still left with a few questions about the Mansion. Who was the original owner? Was it Master Gracey or the sea captain? Or, was it someone else? What connections do the other ghosts such as the sea captain and Constance Hatchaway have to the original owner? Hopefully, Disney will expand on the lore of the Mansion even more. I'd like to see a sequel/series of shorts that follow the events of the movie that expands on the backstory a bit more. I also would like to learn more about the other ghosts, and what their lives were like.

The hall at 4:30 particularly spooked me as a child in the late 70s as I would be visiting my grandparents who lived near Disneyland and they had a house full of antiques and a hall just like this.
The special effects on The Haunted Mansion are extraordinary. I can remember going on this ride, when I was a kid and wondering how the special effects were done. This ride certainly has state-of-the-arts special effects.
There are certain “must visit” attractions. Pirates, Big Thunder, the Disney Railroad, Mark Twain, and Haunted. If we just get on these, then it’s a great visit. I don’t care if we don’t get in Rise, because it is either closed or broken, or Nemo, because it’s too cramped and claustrophobic, or even Smugglers Run, because you are busy pushing button and/or moving joysticks to enjoy it.

Happy Haunting Memories! One of my favorite attractions at Disneyland! My parents took me when the Haunted Mansion first opened back around 1969-1970. I remember watching The Osmonds on TV being some of the first to visit in what? 1969 or so... As a young boy of 8 years old, this scared the bejeezus out of me, the first time I experienced the attraction, but I loved it!.. 'Grim Grinning Ghosts' is one of my absolute favorite creepy songs!

Definitely my favourite ride in the park. I can't wait to take my kids to see it one day - although I won't try to persuade them to go in if they don't want to go in. I remember how much the place terrified me as a child. They'll appreciate it once they're ready
I think I was afraid of this as a kid in 2005. I remember walking into that round room, though, and floating candles! I also remember the carts, even though I was only about 7 or 8. My parents had a habit of dragging me into haunted rides since they enjoyed them. So I kept my eyes shut on a lot of these things. The worst was probably at Universal Studios. I think it was for vampires or something? It was something you walk through, but I remember being so scared in there.

Then I found out a Disney staff member had found the original molds for him and he had been added to the Haunted Mansion in 2015! So good to see him take his rightful place.
Six YEARS ago, i made a wonderful draw about Haunted Mansioni but played by Ghost Crew from Star Wars. Ezra Bridger in the role of HatBox Ghost Sabine Wren as the Bride Hera Syndulla as Maid Waitress Kanan Jarrus as Hitchhiker Ghost Phineas Arihnda Pryce as Madame Leota Now i note that Rosario Dawson Is playing Haunted Mansion and i Imagine that Ahsoka Tano and Darth Vader if they should here in Rebels season three, they will comment saying That Ezra and his crew are great to play the role of Haunted Mansion and seeing that Sabine eats the Heart of horse made by Gummy bear that Qi'ra teach her to eat It.
I have to say, when I was younger I was so scared I didn’t go on it. There was a little hallway that you had to walk through to get out of line, and that was scarier than the whole ride it looked like the backrooms and the ghosts talked to you 💀
4:40 They still haven't found a way to make the candelabra illusion work correctly. You can still tell there is a mirror and see the reflection of the candles

When hinges creak in doorless chambers, and strange and frightening sounds echo through the halls. Whenever candle lights flicker where the air is deathly still - that is the time when ghosts are present, practicing their terror with ghoulish delight! Welcome, foolish mortals, to the Haunted Mansion. I am your host, your ghost host. Kindly step all the way in please, and make room for everyone. There’s no turning back now. Our tour begins here in this gallery, where you see paintings of some of our guests as they appeared in their corruptible, mortal state. Your cadaverous pallor betrays an aura of forboding, almost as though you sense a disquieting metamorphosis. Is this haunted room actually stretching? Or is it your imagination -hmmm? And consider this dismaying observation: this chamber has no windows and no doors…which offers you this chilling challenge: to find a way out! (Laugh). Of course there’s always my way. (Lighting)(scream) Oh, I didn’t mean to frighten you prematurely. The real chills come later. Now, as they say, “Look alive”, and we’ll continue our little tour. And let’s all stay together, please. There are several prominent ghosts who have retired here from creepy old crypts all over the world. Actually, we have 999 happy haunts here - but theres room for 1,000. Any volunteers? (Laughs). If you insist on lagging behind, you may not need to volunteer. And now, a carriage approaches to take you into the boundless realm of the supernatural. Take your loved ones by the hand, please and kindly watch your step. Oh yes, and no flash pictures, please. We spirits are frightfully sensitive to bright lights. Do not pull down on the safety bar, please. I will lower it for you. And heed this warning: the spirits will materialize only if you remain quietly seated at all times. We find it delightfully unlivable here in this ghostly retreat. Every room has wall-to-wall creeps, and hot and cold running chills, shhhh, listen! Let me out, let me out of here! (Music) (Clock) Serpents and spiders, tail of a rat, call in the spirits, wherever they’re at! Rap on a table - it’s time to respond. Send us a message from somewhere beyond…. Goblins and ghoullies from last Halloween, awaken the spirits with your tambourine! Creepies and crawlies, toads in a pond, let there be music from regions beyond! Wizards and witches, wherever you dwell, give us a hint, by ringing a bell! The happy haunts have received your sympathetic vibrations and are beginning to materialize. They’re assembling for a swinging wake, and they’ll be expecting me….i’lol see you all a little later. (Ball room organ) (Piano) (Small laugh) Here comes the bride! For better or for….worse. Well live happily ever after. Till death do us part. I do…I did! (Knife sound) When the crypt doors creak And the tombstones quake Spooks come out for a singing wake Happy haunts materialize And begin to vocalize Grim grinning ghosts come out to socialize Now don't close your eyes And don't try to hide Or a silly spook may sit by your side Shrouded in a daft disguise They pretend to terrorize Grim grinning ghosts come out to socialize As the moon climbs high o'er dead oak tree Spooks arrive for the midnight spree Creepy creeps with eerie eyes Start to shriek and harmonize Grim grinning ghosts come out socialize When you hear the knell of a requiem bell Weird glows gleam where spirits dwell Restles bones etherealize Rise as spooks of every size Ah, there you are! And just in time…there’s a little matter I forgot to mention - beware of hitchhiking ghosts! They have selected you to fill our quota, and they’ll haunt you until you return! Now I’ll raise the safety bar, and a ghost will follow you home! (Laughs) Worker: Please exit to your left by stepping away from the carriage with your left foot first. Step out and stand on the moving platform, please. Hurry back! Hurry back! Be sure to bring your death certificate….. if you decide to join us. Make final arrangements now! We’ve been “dying” to have you…(laugh)
The best part is they disabled the internet access once we get under ground so we can experience more when in the ride and give us a sense that we are in the middle of nowhere
This is one of my favorite childhood memories and I needed to see what would’ve happened to it over the years because as a kid I always went on this ride and I always checked to see if anything new has changed and a lot has over the years, some may not remember this but there was a part of the ride almost when you were riding out it was master Gracie I think and she said “don’t forget to take your death certificate” as you left. It’s a shame they took it away some OG’s will remember it and some won’t , this was my boost of joy. Thank you

I had the original 1969 LP, and later CD, of 'The Haunted Mansion in Story & Song' and couldn't figure out why he wasn't in the ride then. Then I found out a Disney staff member had found the original molds for him and he had been added to the Haunted Mansion in 2015! So good to see him take his rightful place.
I when there in 2018 too
My absolute favorite ride
1:39-1:53-1:59-6:59-9:21-10:25
To broke to ever go to disney, i'll just watch all the rides lol
The old animations are the best
Six YEARS ago, i made a wonderful draw about Haunted Mansioni but played by Ghost Crew from Star Wars.
Ezra Bridger in the role of HatBox Ghost
Sabine Wren as the Bride
Hera Syndulla as Maid Waitress
Kanan Jarrus as Hitchhiker Ghost Phineas
Arihnda Pryce as Madame Leota
Now i note that Rosario Dawson Is playing Haunted Mansion and i Imagine that Ahsoka Tano and Darth Vader if they should here in Rebels season three, they will comment saying That Ezra and his crew are great to play the role of Haunted Mansion and seeing that Sabine eats the Heart of horse made by Gummy bear that Qi'ra teach her to eat It.
I have to say, when I was younger I was so scared I didn’t go on it. There was a little hallway that you had to walk through to get out of line, and that was scarier than the whole ride it looked like the backrooms and the ghosts talked to you 💀
Hi, which camera did you use and what settings for the low light? Thanks!
Very good !
Do a live video streaming of the haunted mansion all sounds. And all haunted mansion sounds
Literally standing😂 in the line now
I love when the music starts at 8:30!!
4:40 They still haven't found a way to make the candelabra illusion work correctly. You can still tell there is a mirror and see the reflection of the candles
I only got to go to haunted mansion during the holidays so I’m curious do they play the music box song in line all year round or just holidays. Also this is my favorite ride ever! I love how spooky it is, it’s so fun I went on it multiple times because it’s my happy place.
It's a ride you can never get bored of
Classic 🎃👻💀
MANSION VERY COMIC. 2023. 👻👀👌🇺🇸
The video is brilliant. We’re going in April 2024. How did you record in low light? I have an iPhone.
Are those the original animatronics, including the Hitch-Hiking Ghosts?
maybe I’m bias….but I prefer Phantom Manor so much more. There’s just something about it that makes me fall more in love with it than Haunted Mansion.
(Lighting)(scream)
Oh, I didn’t mean to frighten you prematurely.
(Music)
(Clock)
Serpents and spiders, tail of a rat, call in the spirits, wherever they’re at!
(Ball room organ)
(Piano)
(Small laugh)
Here comes the bride! For better or for….worse. Well live happily ever after. Till death do us part. I do…I did! (Knife sound)
When the crypt doors creak
And the tombstones quake
Spooks come out for a singing wake
Happy haunts materialize
And begin to vocalize
Grim grinning ghosts come out to socialize
Now don't close your eyes
And don't try to hide
Or a silly spook may sit by your side
Shrouded in a daft disguise
They pretend to terrorize
Grim grinning ghosts come out to socialize
As the moon climbs high o'er dead oak tree
Spooks arrive for the midnight spree
Creepy creeps with eerie eyes
Start to shriek and harmonize
Grim grinning ghosts come out socialize
When you hear the knell of a requiem bell
Weird glows gleam where spirits dwell
Restles bones etherealize
Rise as spooks of every size
Ah, there you are! And just in time…there’s a little matter I forgot to mention - beware of hitchhiking ghosts!
They have selected you to fill our quota, and they’ll haunt you until you return! Now I’ll raise the safety bar, and a ghost will follow you home! (Laughs)
Worker: Please exit to your left by stepping away from the carriage with your left foot first.
It is amazing, 😂
That looks fun, I see why they want to make a good movie out of it. Twice.
Just got back from there. It was awesome.
Thank you
When was the ectoplasm effect removed from Madame Leota's seance circle?
My favorite attraction 😊
Best ride
Ok, but if the chambers are doorless, where do we find the creaking hinges?
I haven't been to Disneyland in 15 years, so of course my favorite ride is going to be shut down (for upgrades and a new gift shop, no less) while I'm there this summer. At least I have this video to fill the void.
This is the scariest attraction ever, because I read a story about it 2 years ago for Storytime with Andrea on Zoom for Halloween 2021. Don't worry, I toned down the screaming sound effect, so my audience won't lose their hearing at all. 😱
Indiana Jones Adventure scared me more than this.
@@Eeveeismypatronas Really? Was it because of the snake or the skeletons? I dressed up as Sally Slater the tightrope walker for Halloween 2023 and the costume wasn't scary at all.
@@andreapatane4204 no, it was the speed of the ride and the loud noises that scared me.
So spooky as a kid, now in midlife the idea of these ghosts partying is like "hell yeah good for them!"
Jeepers
That was so scary
👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻 BOO!!!!!!!
How did mansion holiday or the haunted mansion?
looks almost the same since I went on it as a kid back in 2001
