Hi. Is it ok to install a rectangular 6 point shade sail? The linings will be reinforced with steel wire. But Im just worried if the center will be prone to tear. Is it ok or I will just have to stick with the regular 4 point shade sail? Pls give your expert advise on this.
Hello @greigrhyscinches1674, thanks for your question. Without knowing the size details of your project, a 6-point rectangular shade sail will probably work even better than a 4-point sail. The additional corners help to distribute the tension throughout the sail. I'm not sure what kind of fabric your sail is, but a Shazeebo Shade Sail uses commercial-grade fabric with a minimum 10-year warranty, so a tear in the center of the sail is very unlikely. To help prevent sagging and create good tension throughout the sail, we recommend alternating the heights at your corners to create a Hypar shape or a twist in the sail. 3' of difference between your high and low points usually gives a nice twist that looks great and prevents sagging.
